When and how do Ilvermorny students get their wand?

The Sorting Ceremony is not the only major difference between Hogwarts and Ilvermorny (though in so many ways the schools resemble each other). Once students have been allocated a house they are led into a large hall where they select (or are selected by) a wand. Until the 1965 repeal of Rappaport’s Law, which enforced very strict conformity with the Statute of Secrecy, no child was allowed a wand until they arrived at Ilvermorny. Moreover, wands had to be left at Ilvermorny during vacations and only upon attaining seventeen years of age was the witch or wizard legally allowed to carry a wand outside school.- Pottermore

Does that mean that after 1965 students can get there wand ahead of time? Or do the students who still in need of a wand get one when one after they are "allacated a house" and before the first dinner?

I'm not sure on the answer to the first part of your question about where and when students get their wands -- @Christine will know if there is some sort of resident wand maker for the school.

However, to my understanding, after 1965 students were no longer required to leave their wands at Ilvermorny during the summers. Underage magic, of course, was still not allowed.

Ok I know of the 4 wand makers. that is how I picked Sylvias wand. ok I'm glade I will planned that she picked it out before school started.
