Ace's] debauchery and chaos [tag; Kerr]

Blue eyes drifted over the crowded bar as he put another fry into his mouth, a tattooed hand hanging there as he looked around. He wished he’d just gone to Ace’s in London, but now he had to be in Ireland. Stupid family meetings and stupid men walking around in suits. He couldn’t understand why they weren’t hot or uncomfortable. Jay looked down at his checker pink and blue shorts and grinned. No matter, he was comfortable. His brightly colored pink shirt held blue designs and his neon green suspenders matched the converse he wore.

He looked back at his plate, his mind drifting back to Freya. They’d been in Ace’s the night of the party and a lot had been said in the London establishment. He still felt stupid because he had been drunk and reckless spilled his feelings on something that should have never been exposed. That had been a bad do on his part and he knew sooner or later he would have to speak to Kerr about it. He feared mostly that he would lose his best friend. Nothing had happened, unless the breaking into a house counted but he sure it didn’t.

He’d just gotten a new Chow Chow and still had to pick him up from the vet. It was a gift for his mother, since he and his band had moved out she said she’d missed the dogs. He took his time choosing the chocolate brown puppy and did so because of its beautiful green eyes and exciting personality. “Hey, Liam can I get another plate of fries and soda?” The man behind the bar gave him a nod as he turned to the door in time to see Kerrigan walk through it. His heart dropped from his chest and his blood froze in his veins.

It had been so long since he had last seen his best friend, but still he had missed the other boy. Spain had changed him and he was sure that the other Regan’s travels had changed him. “Aye, yo Kerr.” Came his response as he waved him over. “Liam make that a double.” He called out as he gave the other tattooed boy a grin. “My mom said you just got back, how was it?” They would first catch up, it was most important.

Kerr stared at his older sister as she rattled off a list of things that she wanted him to get from Aces when he was done running some errands. If he wasn’t sure that she was buying food for her and the boyfriend she didn’t realize that he knew was stashed in the back, he should have been concerned that she was pregnant, but that honestly could still be the case. Who knows what she got up to with that crazy man. It was a lot of food and Kerr was annoyed. “Yeah sure Ness.” He said, dodging smoothly when she threw something at him. She was such an angry sort. He wandered out of the Black Kings, adjusting his burgundy jacket. Being around Luce had modified his wardrobe a bit, and he found himself dressing up more often than not.

Being back in Ireland was not as startling that he’d thought it would be. He’d been so focused on his studies and getting back healthy, that he hadn’t become attached to Italy like he could have been. Yes, he’d seen family, but he’d been busy working on getting himself right. Coming back to Ireland had been easy, and working with Nessa had not been easy, because she was an insane task mistress, but it had been comfortable. He was still studying for his mastery, but he was expanding outside of his chosen field. His grasp of magic, with the nerve damage still lingering in his hands, had expanded. He’d had to become creative in the way he casted, and it’d made his wand work odd. But unpredictable.

Wandering into the bar, he was about to walk and make an order when he heard his name called. Thick brows rose over dark framed glasses, and he tossed his hair. “When you’d get back?” The baritone voice rumbled through the bar. He walked over to the table, and held his hand out to be shaken, smirking slyly. “They said you were in Spain, but It wasn’t like you couldn’t have written or what have you…” He turned the seat backwards and sat down, smirking at his best friend and cousin.

“What are you up to?”

“Last week, but my body is still there I think.” He gave a chuckle, reaching out take Kerr’s hand as he rose for a half hug, before dropping back into his seat. “I literally couldn’t write.  Well, I could have on the weekend but I slept all the way until Monday most of the time. I was too tired to move. My muscles still ache.” He had no time to tell Kerr he was being shipped away. He hadn’t been able to say goodbye or see you later. Now he sat across from him and in Jay’s mind nothing had changed. Well, not nothing.

“Well, aren’t we the dapper boy.” A ink gloved hand rose to touch Kerr’s jacket. “You must have to beat the ladies off with a stick.” As he said this his mind drifted to Freya and for a moment he wanted to say something. It was too early in their conversation to bring any tension into it. “Seriously though, Italy has you looking like a different man. How was it?” Kerr did look different, he looked more matured. Jay, Jay looked like he always had. Only now he wore a sweater of tattoos.

“I know I should have kept in touch but the s**t they had me doing…did to me had my head all f**ked up.” As he finished talking their fries and sodas were sat down and Liam walked away. “I’m working for my mom…for now until I go to the big man and ask for a station.” He spoke of Aeric and the family business vaguely. He had always wanted to work within the ranks, always wanted to prove he was every bit a Regan even though his last name was Dunne. “What have you been up to?”
