There was nothing Maryana loved more than to feel the warmth from the morning summer sun. Its rays seemed to shine right through her and warm her up from the inside out. Her hair, when left in the natural light long enough, would take on a brighter shade. She was of a fair complexion and preferred to stay that way by wearing magical creams to help protect her skin, a nice, round sun hat, and a light shawl over wrap to compliment her clothes. On really sunny days, she could easily be found in a pair of bright red sunglasses. Of course, if she were to stop at a cafe or restaurant of any sort, she'd purchase the coolest, fruitiest drink they had and happily sip on it. Today was not one of those days.

Though the temperatures were warm, it was pouring thunderbirds and dragons outdoors. Maryana rushed through the streets and down little paths as she made her way through Hogsmeade. Her wand was held parallel to her face. Protruding from the tip of it was tampered water that took the form of an umbrella over her head to keep her dry. She was grateful she hadn't been wearing a long shirt or skirt for she feared she'd be too warm and the hem of akirt would have gotten soiled. Her shoes and the bottom of her cape were already soaked. It was nothing a little magic couldn't fix, but she found it important to keep up her appearance no matter the circumstance.

She squinted in an effort to make out the letterings above the entryway of shops she passed. Anya had recieved directions on how to find her way to the sweet shoppe, but the translation from English to Russian, even with a charm, had gotten muddled, but she nodded her head and thanked the strangers before she went on her way. Through the pouring rain, she could now faintly make out the letters of the shop ahead of her. A wave of relief rushed over her and her concentrates frown morphed into a proud smile.

She stepped underneath the slight overhang of the doorway, tucking herself away from the bad weather. With a flick of her wand and a wave of her wrist, the umbrella had disappeared as well as the water from her shoes, feet, and cloak. Once she was pleased with her state, she stepped into the candy shop. Her nose was greeted with the smells of warm sugars, chocolates, caramels, and a few fruity treats too. It was all so colorful it vaguely reminded her of her unique wardrobe back home. Every inch seemed to be covered in a sweet of some kind or another. A few she recognized, but many she didn't. Each country had their flavor preferences and own variations of many of the treats. It was far different here than from Russian. She was glad to note that though she'd traveled many miles, the culture she submerged herself in enjiyed sugary sweets just as much as she did.

Anya didn't know where to start. There were so many options, she couldn't pick just one. Before she decided to buy anything, she took herself around the store with her copy of Russian to English and English to Russian Dictionary open in hand. She had heard someone speaking near her, but the words were foreign. It was odd for her to be in a place that spoke and wrote in a language she didn't know, but hat didn't phase her. She embraced the opportunity to learn English rather than shy away from it. Anya revealed her wand from rhe pockets of her cloak and held it up against her throat. Very quietly, she casted translating charm on herself. Her throat glowed a bright green momentarily. The color then raced up her neck to her ears. The glowing and color vanished just as quickly as it had appeared. Now, she could understand what others were saying around her and when she spoke, though it didn't get rid of her thick Russian accent, her words were in English.

Her heels stopped clacking on the floor when she stumbled upon a small sign that read Exploding Bonbons. Unfortuneately, the translation charm didn't help her with reading English. She had to reference her dictionary in an effort to figure out what it was. The Russian preferred to not trouble anyone else, but when she looked between the picture of someone holding their mouth on the wrapper and the dictionary, she couldn't make sense of it. "Excuse me," she said politely as she tapped the shoulder of a blonde woman near her. "Could you tell me what these are? I'm afraid I can't read English very well."

However much she enjoyed her job, Frida was always grateful for her days off, especially during the Summer. Without any Ministry of Magic duties to tie her down, the Trickett was free to tag along with her fiancé, Leo, as he travelled to Sugar & Spice (their beloved critter café) for the day to work in his clinic. Fri only stayed by his side for an hour or so, before moving to the café itself to say hello to the rest of the Emerson family that was around that day, gratefully accepting the offer of hot chocolate that came with it.

Looking out the window as she finished the last drop of her delectable drink, the Ministry employee noticed the thick, heavy rain and grinned mischievously. There was clearly an adventure to be had! All the best adventure stories were made in rain and thunderstorms, after all. And of course, every good adventure required good snacks, and no other place in Hogsmeade quite so delivered on that expectation as her favourite shop, Honeydukes. Taking her leave from the Emersons, Frida stepped out into the cool and refreshing downpour, raising her wand to create an umbrella to shield her from getting soaked. As she walked along the familiar cobblestone streets, Fri's mind wandered to all the many memories she had in the glorious sweet shop and in Hogsmeade itself, though she quickly got distracted as she had to nod, smile, wave and on occasion call out a cheerful greeting to the fellow wizarding folk she passed.

Ducking into the shop and shaking her wand and her yellow cotton dress of any excess water that remained, Frida allowed herself to breathe in the nostalgic scent and smile. Leo briefly crossed her mind, her cheeks warming as her thumb run along the engagement ring. She scanned the shop, flashing back to her 3rd year at Hogwarts... a bubbly Hufflepuff witch trying to persuade a serious Ravenclaw wizard to get the exploding bonbons instead of the sugar quills. Then, their very first date... the same serious wizard, now a Healer, holding out a packet of fizzing whizzbees to the same bubbly witch. And lastly, the previous Valentine's Day where they chased a chocolate frog in a quest to eat it. Frida shook her head and let out a small chuckle, bringing herself back to the present. She looked forward to making even more memories in the special sweet shop. Perhaps, she'd surprise Leo with a treat when she returned to the clinic after her adventure.

But first, her priority was snacks for her adventure! Fri strolled along the aisles of the shop, looking for her favourite sweet conquests. Bertie Bott's every flavour beans were certainly fitting in her mind; an adventurous snack for an adventurous day. Of course, there were always the fizzing whizzbees too, Frida did enjoy floating after all, even if she wasn't so keen on flying. Walking past the pumpkin pasties, Frida stopped instantly. The smell was so inviting, how could she possibly not say no? The Trickett picked up two, though she was certain that this wasn't the perfect snack she was looking for. She continued on her way, stopping by the sugar quills when suddenly there was a gentle tap on her shoulder and a voice with a lilt that was crazily similar to her Russian friend, Alla.

Frida turned towards the woman with a welcoming smile on her face. "Why, they're exploding bonbons, of course!" She exclaimed, realising she'd just found the perfect adventurous snack, causing her smile to grow even bigger. "Do you not have them in... Russia?" She tilted her head questioningly, hoping she'd made the correct assumption. "Be careful with them though," Frida continued, realising that if the other witch had to ask she probably wasn't aware of what they could do. "They, uh, actually do explode. No harm is ever really done, though!" Frida added cheerfully, "You should definitely try some, they taste great!"
