[Announcement] FPP reset ~ July 15, 2019
« on: April 11, 2019, 11:47:02 AM »
Hello hello, everyone!

We're coming up on that time of year, again - the annual FPP reset! You still have about two-and-a-half months so DON'T PANIC, there's still plenty of time to claim your unused prizes! I'm thinking the reset will tentatively take place on Monday, July 15th, 2019. This means: please submit any outstanding thread claims and prize claims no later than 11:59pm EDT on Sunday, July 14th, 2019. All dates and times referenced in this thread and in the main FPP thread are EDT.
I'll post updates here as well as in the main FPP thread.

A quick FAQ/clarification:
  • As usual, threads that have been posted-in within the past four (4) months are eligible to be claimed in this current round (i.e. 2018-2019). For the upcoming round, please refer to the next point.
  • Beginning on July 15th (EDT), in order for a thread to count towards the new cycle there must be at least one post in the thread dated July 15th (EDT). For instance, if the last post was made on July 14th and I submit a claim for that thread on July 15th, it will not count for the new cycle. However if the last post in that thread was made on July 15th, then it will count towards the new cycle (i.e. 2019-2020) and cannot count towards the previous cycle (i.e. 2018-2019). Alternatively if the last post was July 14th and I submit the thread claim before 11:59pm EDT on July 14th, it will count toward the previous cycle (i.e. 2018-2019).
  • In terms of claiming power-ups, the standard rules apply: you may not "backdate" a power-up and use it on a thread that got you to your current level. For instance if I don't have any power-ups at the moment, but then I submit a claim for a 20-point thread that gets me to the next level, and I choose the power-up as a prize, I cannot go back and try to apply that earned power-up to the same 20-point thread.
  • For the sake of my sanity and to minimize the potential for errors, after the reset I would very much appreciate if you'd wait at least a week to submit new claims for the new (2019-2020) cycle so I can keep things as organized as possible and make sure the previous cycle is completely accounted-for. <33 In any case, I'll post an update when the system has been reset and it's "safe" to claim for the new cycle.
  • After the reset, you will need to go back and re-register for the FPP with your OOC account. Don't worry about this until after I've posted the update that the reset is complete!

I have obnoxiously tagged everyone who is "on the board" in terms of leveling-up (i.e. at least at Pearl) in the third post of the FPP thread in the chart I've created as a reminder of what you have and have not yet claimed so you can start planning. I update this chart every time someone levels-up or claims a prize and cross-reference it with the system in the forum so there really shouldn't be any errors with this or with the points, but if you notice a discrepancy please let me know!

Please feel free to PM me with any questions and happy threading!

~ Liv

Hi all!

The reset date has been adjusted - the new date is July 15th, which is an extension of two weeks (previously July 1st). The first post in this thread as well as in the main FPP thread have been updated accordingly to reflect the date change, but everything else still applies.

Happy threading!

Only about six-and-a-half hours to get your thread claims and prize claims in! The list on in the fourth post of this thread is completely up-to-date at this time.

Remember, prizes earned this cycle do NOT roll-over to the next cycle - you must claim them before midnight EDT (it's now 5:28pm EDT).

All FPP badges from this past cycle have been assigned - thanks to @Christine for making them!

Stay tuned for more info on the official restart! In the interim, please continue to refrain from claiming any new threads for this new cycle. Will post another update once all systems are go!

Still working a few things out so please ignore the FPP Leaderboard for the moment!

But if you are currently logged into your OOC/master account, you may now re-register for the FPP (on the top menu bar: FPP > Register for the FPP) if you plan to participate in the upcoming cycle - there is no rush, you may do this at any time over the course of the next year. In order for this to work properly, you must populate the "Player Name" field (Profile > Forum Profile > Player Name) with your name: the "Player Name" field (not your display name) is what the system uses to display you in the Leaderboard. In other words, you do need a "Player Name" even on your OOC account.
However please do NOT claim any new threads just yet: as mentioned, we are still testing some things.

Thanks for everyone's patience!

Alright fam - for the [hopefully] final update of this thread, claims for the 2019-2020 FPP cycle are officially OPEN for business!!

Just wanted to reiterate a few ground rules/ clarification:
  • The old claims are still logged in the system, so you will not be able to re-claim a thread that you claimed in the previous cycle (it will still read as "FPP claim approved").
  • Even if the "Claim in FPP button" is present (i.e. you didn't claim a particular thread in the previous cycle), you may NOT claim that thread for this new cycle if the most recent post was made prior to 11:59pm EDT on July 14th. In order to be eligible for this new cycle, there must be at least one post made any time after midnight EDT on July 15th. However as mentioned in the first point, this does not apply to previously-claimed threads (even if there is a new post on/after July 15th EDT).
  • Please see the post immediately preceding this for info on how to re-register for the FPP if you haven't done so already.
  • There have been a few slight rule adjustments/clarifications since the prior cycle - please take a moment to review them.
As always, please don't hesitate to reach out if you have further questions.
Thanks so much, again, for everyone's patience - happy threading!!
