Vincent had the calendar date marked on in his office for the past month. He asked for Thursday through Sunday off of work, but his boss was worried about the upcoming holidays increasing of Magical Beasts incidents and so only wanted to give him friday off. Yet when Vincent calculated the time change and the fact that the moon rises at 3:45pm in Scotland, he realized he could not possibly work the day and still be there for Timothy.
After picking up some extra shifts and had to promise to do his boss a favor for him to be finally given his requested four day-weekend off. He hated to think if he would have to do this every month. He paid for the earliest port key to Hogsmeade with was 7am which mean he would get there at noon and have just over three hours to prepare for one or both or hopefully none of them to change.
It was all due to what happened a month ago, and it was one of the scariest nights of his life. He knew he nearly missed being bit by the beast but its jaws and saliva had been inches away from his face. Vincent had since then been studying no-maj textbooks about viruses, which contradicts the wizard 'only from a bite' theory. Certainly if it is a virus, he would likely been exposed. He had a hard time pinning down any pre-signs he may or maynot have showed, so it looked like the test was waiting for the moon. Although he would have rather waited for the change near his home, he wanted to be there for Timothy if he was to be the one to change instead. Finding out sooner than later was always preferable, and Hogsmeade sunset was going to happen 9 hours before New Mexico’s.
He packed up a small backpack with a few changes of clothes, adorn his warmest layers and took the floo to New York. There he looked a bit out of place compared to the business men walking around him for his
cheep, ugly coat he got to replace the one that got damaged that night stuck out on the street like a sore thumb. Still it was only a short walked down the dark, early morning but busy street. Soon he turned the corner to an alleyway that was No-maj warded for it was a common place for a port key spot. Besides the Port Key master, there was already an old scottish wizard, and a couple who appeared just older than Vincent’s age already there.
“Aguilera?” Asked the man standing guard over an old dirty sock. Vincent gave a nod.
“Don’t ‘orry my parents will love ‘ou.” The girl presumably from Hogsmeade was cooing at her lover.
“Five minutes!” said the Post Key Master who seemed a bit already annoyed at the couple. During which time he greeted two more holiday travelers and a small wizards family who show up and paid for the last minute port. Vincent was concerned that someone in the growing group would not be able to touch the sock and would inevitably get left behind. Yet when it came down to it they crowded quite close together and each pinched a small section of the limp thing. There was just the warning of "Hold on" and Vincent felt an uncomfortable pull and then a jerk again when his feet found snow. The Thunderbird had to swallow hard and take a number of steady breaths to prevent anything from coming up. Unfortunately others did not fare as well.
A few made their way down to the hill to a train station, but Vincent joined the small groups that walked their way up the hill to Hogsmeade. When he nearded he fell behind and got out Timothy's letter. It stead of an address Tommithy had written a description of directions from the main road of Hogsmeade to his house. It took note of the number of trees and fence posts he would have to pass before each turn. It actually made it easier to find the small house, which was relatively unmarked and tucked into the side of the forest.
The snow laeden - gravel path led to the wooden porch. He gave a nervous sigh as he checked his watch, noting they still had three hours to get ready before he knocked on the door. After only a second, the door opened. A bright smile spang on Vincent's face as he looked at the young looking wizard. Happy that he looked just as well and did not appear to have any pre-illness signs. Remembering the night they spent examining and healing each others body, Vincent felt his heart skip a beat. Still it did not prevent him from embracing his dear friend with a one of his big bear hugs. “It is good to see you.”
You certainly cannot battle a werewolf without developing a very intimate friendship. So hanging his arm on Timothy Winchester's shoulder, he entered the house. “Are you ready for this?”
