As a girl from Scotland, Deirdre loved the Highland Games. They were not only traditional, they were also quite fun. Men wearing kilts was nothing new but seeing this many people in tartan as there were at Highland Games was special. She was determined to see Highland Games in Dunoon and, while going there alone was definitely an option, Deirdre decided against that. She hadn't seen Alis since the end of term and she felt that her friend might like to join her.
Writing a letter to the Ravenclaw as quickly done. She told her that she intended to cheer the contestants on and watch all the funny competitions that there were, her favourite being the caber toss. She liked to watch men making a fool of themselves and that clearly was a good opportunity. She was happy to see that the younger girl agreed to come and thus they sat up a date.
The girl apparated from Edinburgh to Dunoon, wearing a mini skirt in her family tartan, a white blouse of which she had opened the two top buttons and heavy leather boots. Her ginger hair was curly and only a few strands were pulled back to prevent them to falling into her face.
Deirdre was a little early so she walked around for a while, taking a look at the stands of some of the shops that were represented in Dunoon. Maybe she'd try some of the whiskies later. There were, after all, quite some offers of the traditional alcoholic beverage. Since she had asked Alis to meet her on the left side of the big stage, she walked over there at the time they had scheduled to meet.
As she saw the other girl approaching, Deirdre opted for one of her rare genuine smiles. “Alis,†she greeted her softly. “Hey, how are you?â€
