“Well I’m over it,†she announced when he noted that they were still not even. At this rate, Magnolia figured that it was just the beginning of a back and forth that would never end, at least not during their time at Hogwarts. Never having had to deal with this kind of bully before, it seemed best to diffuse the situation by ignoring that it existed. She was probably just giving it more power by adding fuel to the fire of a very stupd argument. If the girl really put her mind to it, she’d be able to ignore him in class and that would ensure that he didn’t get any more slips of judgment on her part. It all made very good sense in her head, it was the execution of the plan that often caused her problems.
A very specific set of swear words found their way into her head but before she could say them she bit her tongue. She wouldn’t give him the satisfaction. But oh she wished to really tell him exactly how she felt before storming off into a huff with no intentions of ever looking in his direction again. She stared at him for a moment, hoping that her eyes could convey the storm of emotions she was experiencing in response to his stupid insult. So he had been playing her the entire time, he was using her as a form of entertainment. Why she had ever began to think that it meant anything else was beyond her. And now he would walk away from the situation unscathed and she’d think about her anger for the next several weeks, regretting the moment she decided to step out of the classroom and chase after him, the moment she had decided to apologize. He didn’t deserve an apology.
Rather than responding to his comment, she gathered herself, and used all of that anger and frustration inside of her to turn around and walk away from him, not daring to look back. Magnolia would have to spend the next several hours not overanalyzing what had transpired between them. Whatever.
