"Who, her, or me?", Smirking Nessa shrugged her shoulders at his question, deciding to let him come to his conclusions rather than tell him explicitly. The dark witch had meant she would get revenge on her troll of a cousin, but she liked his assumption better. "Figured you would have picked something more... creative for payment, but sure, I will buy you a drink." She told him lightly as they made their way into the establishment. It was far quieter than the last place, something Nessa appreciated. Cozier, too, with the fire going, and Nessa smiled as Harlan led them straight toward it. The witch had forgotten what it was like to be around someone who knew what she liked. Fireplaces, quiet, and not fucking wine.
Nessa pulled off her jacket and began to fold it impeccably before tucking it away in her purse. It shouldn't have fit, but that was magic, and even though it disappeared entirely inside, the witch still had to make sure to fold it perfectly first. She hung her bag on the little hook at the end of the booth and slid into the seat. The witch hadn't felt incredibly hungry until Harlan mentioned it, maybe because there was not a chance in hell she would have eaten anything at the last bar. This place seemed a bit cleaner, though, far more appetizing, and the company was certainly more appealing. Plucking her menu from the holder, she set it down on the table and quietly read the list.
"Hmm," She said softly, nodding her head, as he confessed that he hadn't thought she would come along. A part of her was surprised by it as well. Mostly after everything that had happened, there was a big part of her that would probably never really forgive him, but there was another voice in charge tonight. It wasn't just that her date was awful or that Harlan was fun to be around; it was more than that. Maybe it was nostalgia, or perhaps she had something to prove, but when he offered to take her here, Nessa couldn't have done anything but agreed. "Me too, to be honest," Nessa admitted, her dark eyes lifting from the glossy menu to meet his gaze. "It was a long time ago, Harlan," She told him, hoping saying it out loud would convince them both that she was over it.
