Hyacinth wished that her family was a little more like the Tricketts. She was what she liked to call the “white sheep†of the family, as most of her family was darkly affiliated at best and Death Eaters at worst. Hyacinth was neither of those things. In fact, she was bright as the sun in terms of lightness and compassion and justice. She really hurt to think of the way her friends sometimes treated people who were less fortunate than them. While Hyacinth was slightly biased, it was in an innocent, ignorant, kid of way. She did think muggleborns were the less-fortunate, as she subconsciously believed that purebloods were better, but she would never blame someone for where they came from, right?
She noticed the hint of jealousy in Soley’s voice, was sensitive to things of that nature, but she smiled broadly and pretended not to notice it. “Ahhh, heh.†She began with a light blush. “I am going to a Christmas party with my sisters, and then my youngest older sister, Azalea, and I are going to the Winter Wonderland in Diagon Ally. She’s letting me stay with her, and even mum said it was okay!†She smiled. She blew on Aase’s toes to try to get them to dry faster.
“You excited for Trickmas too, Soley?†She asked, perking back up. “It sounds so cool to have such a large, loving family. Everything in my family is so formal.†She laughed lightly, though it was a sore spot. The Reeds were very traditional, darker, pureblood family. Tradition was such a big deal for them that they rarely looked away from propriety, and as such most events were cold. Also, Hyacinth feared her sister Iris on a good day, and even more when she was in her element.
