She gave him a look when he asked what she’d change. What did he think? “I’ll put like a sappy poem in there,†Tomie joked, clearly teasing him. When he asked if he should write her one, she felt embarrassed. “I dunno,†she said. Then, “Probably.†She glanced down, finished packing up her Valentine’s day cards. She pocketed the stack.
JR leaned up against the table and Tomie smirked a bit at his answer. “No guarantees,†she said, teasing (flirting??) as she came in close enough to do it. She held her wand up to his cheek and said the charm out loud, satisfied when it worked and his face wasn’t rearranged. Tomie lingered, though, a curious look in her eyes as she met his gaze. “Just…†She leaned in a little, with the unfinished thought on the tip of her tongue.
Tomie pressed her lips gently to his cheek, just enough that they made a quiet kiss sound when she pulled back. It was a bit weird; if she’d tried something similar ten minutes ago he might have punched her. She definitely would have punched him — still might if he tried it now, ha. It felt nice, though, and she felt very Grown Up, which was cool. Or whatever. Tomie pulled back, unable to help the smile that spread across her face. She shook her head, mostly at herself, feeling embarrassed but in a way that wasn’t entirely awful.
“Okay,†she said, tucking some hair behind her ear. She was all packed up.
