"Alright, here's what we got," Danny said as he made his way back to the table where Harvey was sitting, two plates balanced very precariously as his mouth watered at the smell of the delicious food piled on the plates wafted up to him.

It was the night of the Ministry fundraiser and Danny was glad it was finally here - partly because he was tired of all the extra owl mail and deliveries he'd had to handle since the planning of the event started and partly because the free food at these government parties was always stellar. He and Jere weren't really planning on donating or bidding on any of the auction items that had quickly exceeded their 'budget' (aka the cash they had to spend each week on beer and weed). That's not to say that Danny didn't think it was a good cause, because of course he did. He didn't want to put the cat among the pixies and make a big deal of it, but he also knew that there were a lot of other witches and wizards here who could afford to donate much more than he could.

One could say Danny didn't care much about his appearance 90% of the time - he wore whatever clothes that were (mostly) clean, whatever styles his mum or Freya recommended and he was really only fussy about what he wore when it came to tshirts with funny sayings on them (yes to anything with Weird Sisters lyrics, and double yes to anything that had an arrow on it that pointed to Jeremy beside him and called him any variety of light-hearted insults).

But tonight? Tonight was one of the few where Danny cared. He had gotten the one (1) suit he owned out of his closer (thankfully it had fit because he definitely hadn't tried it on before last night) and had even attempted a steaming charm before Jeremy rescued him and did it for him.  His hair was slicked back and looking suave. His tie was just the right balance (he thought) of professional (Frey had tied it in a neat Windsor knot) and whimsical (his tie had kneazles that shimmied whenever he walked). He was downright dapper.

Danny was surely out on the prowl for a nice lady to entertain, but he also had his priorities in order. Food came first. He was like a niffler in search of the best bits. "That buffet over there has all the seafood -  crab legs as big as my forearm, I'm not even joking. But over there--" Danny said with a nod towards the left as he set his plates down on the table and eagerly pulled up a chair. "--has the juiciest steaks I've ever seen. There's even a guy carving roast. Carving it for you. He was quite happy to  pile it on for me. Swear I was about to propose to that man." Danny glanced over at Harvey, his brows raised expectantly, wondering what he had found food-wise.
