[Near Pitlochry] What do muggles do for kicks? (Circenn)

It was time to come up with new ideas for a travel guide but Jade hadn’t decided on where to go next yet. She spent some time meeting her friends, asking them for suggestions and making a list of possible locations that might be interesting for witches and wizards to visit. Some suggestions she heard didn’t appeal to her, others sounded rather intriguing. However, she hadn’t made up her mind yet.

She was glad that her friend Circenn had agreed to meet her near Pitlochry for a little surprise (and some talk about Hawaii or other possible travel locations he could recommend). She had told him to wear muggle appropriate attire and was actually quite eager to see if he liked her idea of a fun afternoon.

They were supposed to meet on a bridge and Jade had apparated to the edge of the nearby forest and walked up to the bridge, wearing tight blue jeans, white sneakers and a white t-shirt. Her look was simply but definitely muggle appropriate, she assumed. Her hair was tied up in a ponytail - a rare styling for the Scottish witch. She had applied the usual amount of makeup, wanting to keep it natural but still trying to look her best.

When she saw Circenn approach her, Jade grinned at him. “Hey,” she said softly as she made a few steps towards him to close the distance between them and greeted him with a brief hug. “How are you doing?” she asked and then, without really giving him time to respond to her first question, she added another one. “Any idea what kind of surprise I have for you today?” she asked and nudged his shoulder playfully. Truth be told, she wasn't sure if she really liked her own idea very much. However, they both liked to try new adventurous things and she had only recently heard that muggles liked to jump off bridges or other elevated spots with their legs tied together by a rope that then stopped their fall before they'd hit the ground. It did sound rather stupid to Jade to do such a thing but it sounded like something worth trying all the same.

((so sorry for the delay <333))

After a long with with multiple games and practices, all of which could have gone much better, Circenn was looking forward to getting out and away from work. He wasn't sure what had happened this season, but the Magpies were going down and down in the standings, games were getting worse and worse, no matter how much he tried. It was beyond frustrating and with the season coming to a close soon, he was plagued by doubts that they would be able to turn it around in time for a run at the finals. It was disheartening so when Jade owled with an idea for a day out, he had jumped at the chance.

He wasn't sure exactly what she was planning - muggle clothes, near Pitlochry? But the past times they had hiked or gotten out in nature, it had always gone well and it was a nice day for it. Warm, not too windy, the sun warning his neck as he strode toward her out of the forest, wearing dark joggers and a heather gray tshirt that stretched across his chest. He gave her a big smile as he greeted her, wrapping her in a quick one-armed hug in hello before gazing about. "No clue," he said with a loud laugh and a smile. Circenn nudged her back gently with his elbow as they walked closer and he watched as some people were being.. strapped into harnesses? His gaze whipped to the side, another smile tugging at his lips, as he saw two people go off the side of the platform, a bungee strapped to their feet.

"Seriously?" he asked, but there was a note of eagerness in his tone. Muggles could be extreme in their search for adrenaline highs, but Circenn had always wondered what that was like with no cushioning charm below. His brows were raised as he glanced back at Jade. "Bungee jumping, right?"

Grinning widely, Jade watched Circenn as he figured out what she had planned for them. She could tell that he liked the idea of it and she was happy about that. After the way the season of the Magpies had gone so far, she assumed that her friend needed some distraction and fun.

“Yeah right,” she said, nodding. “Don’t tell me you’re chickening out,” she teased. Circenn was an adrenaline junkie and Jade liked having him with her for such endeavours. Her plan was to watch the muggles until it was their time to jump and then later have a nice meal at a nearby restaurant and maybe they'd go for a hike later. The day was still young, after all.

“I heard of this just recently and wanted to try it out. Then I wondered who’d be a good partner in crime for this and… here you are.” She laughed lightly and linked arms with him as they took the last few steps to close the gap between them and the bungee team.

“I don’t really get muggles sometimes,” she said as she looked into the face of a woman standing there, strapped into a harness. “She looks so terrified.” Jade watched the woman as she braced herself to jump and wondered if she'd look as scared when she was standing there. However, she hoped not.

Circenn grinned wolfishly at her as she confirmed his guess and then loudly laughed, his head going back at little. "Chickening out? I think you're thinking of someone else," he said as he rubbed his hands together. A surge of something rushed through him and he was all the more appreciative to his friend for inviting him out to do this. It had been on his list for a while now, but with the team and practice and avoiding the media wherever possible, he had turned himself into more of a hermit than he liked to admit.

Today was for changing that.

He extended his arm to her and she threaded hers through his as they walked, Circenn watching with curiosity and a boyish excitement as other adrenaline junkie muggles stepped up to take their turn. "It's a great day for it too," he agreed, happy that she had thought of him. Circenn was busy watching as another man was strapped into a slingshot type of machine when Jade pulled his attention and he glanced up at a woman who looked... well, terrified. "Bet muggles would love the idea of a cushioning charm," he whispered to her before he turned back to the woman. "You got this!" he yelled to her, holding up a big thumbs up that he hoped was encouraging.

Then he glanced back at Jade with a grin. "Think you'll be that terrified once we get up there? Or if I do, promise you won't tell anyone?"

Laughing at Circenn’s reaction, Jade was more than a little pleased that she had apparently found a good activity for them today. She never thought that her friend would actually chicken out but teasing him was fun anyway.

“Yes, I’m so happy the weather is good today,” Jade admitted. She hadn’t really been worried, though. The Scottish witch was used to bad weather and knew that worrying about it didn’t make the weather any better anyway. Chances were that it would rain sooner or later but that only meant that she had learned to enjoy the sunny moments even more.

She laughed again when Circenn mentioned a cushioning charm. “Well, yeah, I guess. However, the straps should hold them well enough so that no cushioning charms should be needed.

Circenn tried to encourage the woman and Jade nodded towards her in what she thought was an encouraging way, too.

“I think neither of us will be that terrified,” Jade said but couldn’t really be sure. It was one thing to watch this from a safe place but another to jump down a bridge and rely on the muggles to have strapped everything perfectly.
