    • Appearance: Jimin is an alluring mix of more delicate, almost feminine, features and sharp masculine structure. Despite his mixed blood, he has distinct Korean origin — appearance-wise firmly taking after his mother — and carries himself with borne grace. The noticeable sensual sway in his hips is the direct outcome of his passion for dancing, along with the slender but athletic frame. Jimin's years of training gave the half-Korean a very subtle power and firmness of the core one will immediately notice whenever Jimin moves to music's rhythm.

He is undoubtedly a handsome man, and his softness makes him appear youthful and beautiful. A smooth and tanned complexion gives him a healthy glow, the man no longer sickly or frail as it had been a few years ago. However, underneath his eyes, the occasional black circles show that the burdens he carries aren't entirely gone. At first glance, the marks of pain aren't apparent since most of his scars are buried underneath his clothes. He does have a small circular mark next to his right eye though.

Jimin's body had been through a lot of calamities that left its signature. The most evident are healed wounds — like the burn scars covering parts of his back and right shoulder. Or his scarred knee plaguing him with occasional pain. Jimin wears muggle compression sleeves for the knee to prevent further damage whenever he engages in physically straining activities. He has several smaller and varied scars on his arms and legs that do not carry any lasting effects. Conversely, Jimin's right hand's nerves have reduced touch sense and sensitivity, though the damage is not significant enough to impede his everyday life.

Apart from scarred wounds, Jimin's skin is etched with many tattoos scattered across parts of his body. An XX beneath his belly-button and Archangel Michael at the back of his neck, its wings wrapped around it. It is supposed to symbolize a guardian angel, but Jimin's personal meaning is slaying his own past self. Precisely rising from the ashes like a Phoenix and starting anew after everything he went through. The last significant emblem with a unique placement is on the side of Jimin's neck. It's a pair tattoo, Jimin shares it with one of his closest friends and former lover Jay Dunne. He has tattooed in red The Queen, while Jay's says The King. The rest of Jimin's inked art covers his arms. There's a visible muscle definition in them, and his forearms are somewhat veiny, along with his hands which continue into long and thin fingers.

Always put-together, Jimin keeps his nails clipped and clean even when he's been trifling around with potion ingredients. He would also never leave his piercings on through the night. Jimin's ears have been pierced for a few years with around four holes on each side. The man also has a labret piercing on his lower lip, classic tongue piercing and a pierced belly-button; he likes to decorate this one with hanging and zircon jewellery.

As a lover of all unorthodox or radical, apart from the half-Korean's skin, his hair makes the leading victim for his experiments. It doesn't stay one colour for long, and he's gone through all basic colours in different shades at least twice. Currently, the man is dyed blonde and has locks cut short with the front left long enough to almost cover his eyes.

His head is positioned on a graceful neck, paired with a delicate nape and collarbones. Opposed to that, Jimin's jaw cuts like a deadly knife in u-turn line towards his ears and gives his face a graceful almost feline look. A large pair of mismatched eyes sits beneath thick, slanted brows. The left is pale blue and the other chocolate brown. His Central Heterochromia condition causes a superior sensitivity in his left eye. This often forces Jimin to wear hats or glasses on days with a bright sunlight, which tend to slide down his straight nose a lot. He has smaller mouth and plump lips with a prominent curve on the upper lip and behind sit white teeth, all rounded in one steady row — apart from one that is slightly turned to side, having too little space to stay straight.

Dressing style: Jimin brings the style, and unless he’s running to a grocery store or staying at home, he will always look nothing less than dashing. Based on his character, it is not surprising. He loves embellishing and enhancing his appearance and dotes on his style and outer looks just as much as he caters to the inner layers with his mind. He is well-manicured and has a good sense of fashion, but instead of holding onto established styles, he either experiments with the more unconventional or goes for outright outrageous and no less original. Therefore it's not surprising to see Jimin mix muggle fashion with wizarding robes and clothes.

He likes variety. Likes wearing robes one day, another day punk and chain, and completely different one, he might wear a checkered shirt with black jeans and tons of jewellery. Accessories are his favourite thing in an outfit. He wears a lot of various rings (one with a Bane crest), earrings and necklaces. What he doesn't prefer are watches and bracelets, he finds them too distracting.

Color-wise Jimin again isn't too limited. Black and white is the base, and anything from pastel colours, beiges, greys, purples, bourbon and other palettes can be all found within his closet. If he doesn't have the shade or style he wants to put on, he can sew it. Generally, though, Jimin does tend to dodge neon or certain aggressive and vibrant colours or wear them only in detail.

    • Personality: For people like Jimin, the world is a colourful and sensual spectrum full of ideas and people to connect with. His adventurous character loves to explore and experiment in life both with himself and new perspectives. Unlike some introverted types who get often described as ‘daydreamers’, he does not get stuck in his head or lose himself in worlds upon worlds of ideas and imagination. No, Jimin lives in the moment. This man's mind is of a true artist whom he likes to use to brighten the world by, but his fantasy is anchored in the space around him rather than wandering in a dreamscape.

His goals will rarely stay rotting, Jimin is a doer, and it’s not usual for him to procrastinate about his desires and ideals. Instead, he would pursue them with all his might and diligence. This daredevil side, however, means Jimin is drawn to risky behaviour, like physically straining or extreme sports, rule-breaking behaviour or perhaps trying out rush-inducing substances.

While he’s now able to rein big risks quite well, Jimin can still be impulsive in his everyday life, focused on the world around him but able to lose himself in it too. He gets most of his high from dancing and working with his hands or body. Jimin has prominent bodily-kinesthetic intelligence, which allows him to truly hone in on his performing talent and other interests via the process of doing, the perfect combination to his character. It’s easy to notice that Jimin was given an impressive dexterity, hand-eye coordination and athletic abilities, despite his slender stature. On the other hand, it can also take him longer to learn new spells or potions — reading or theory being an insufficient source of studying.

In addition, freedom of expression is one of Jimin’s top priorities. Anything that actively interferes with this — old customs or strict rules — creates a sense of oppression and makes more rigidly structured academics and work even more challenging.

The true place where Jimin's real talents show, as hinted above, sit in his creative ability and imaginative mind rather than in learning run-down techniques. Be it a newly sowed outfit, a crafted spell or a new choreography, coming up with something fresh, one of a kind and then actually bringing it to reality is right up the man's alley. He experiments with new thoughts all the time and loves trying new things, and he uses this skill to create stuff that speaks to other people's hearts. It's hard to stay bored while in Jimin’s company. His warm and friendly attitude only make him more likeable and popular. He usually doesn't approach people first because of his introverted nature, but it makes him none less social and interesting. Many people might actually find themselves enraptured by the man's company with shocking ease. There is something about Jimin that makes him irresistibly charming — a complex mind on his shoulders, a great oratory prowess, sharp yet kind-enough tongue or his non-judgemental approach are only a few examples. The sense of positivity and acceptance Jimin is full of makes him an amazing friend, always ready to give a helping hand or shoulder to cry on. Jimin can easily relate to others' emotions, helping establish balance, goodwill and minimize conflict.

He values harmony in all his relationships, be it friendships, family or sexual and romantic connections. Long-term peacefulness is nurturing to his mind and heart and can make him open up to people with beauty, unusual vulnerability and trust. The opposite — fighting, intense negative emotions or strong opposing opinions — those will only result in the half-Korean pulling away with time. One of Jimin’s weakest points is his sensitivity to criticism he has little control over, and people who approach Jimin with words similar to ‘your clothes look amazing, but you should tone down on the jewellery a bit’, usually close their door before even reaching them. The openness and acceptance this man offers to people around him Jimin hopes to get in return, he doesn’t want to be boxed in a certain category the society offers to him, there is no space for him there!

Similarly, generally hurtful, demeaning attention or just severe negativity won’t be welcome. Jimin can take gentle comments or constructive criticism, but the moment it is laced with overly strong emotions or negative context, he will lose his charm and lash out. He can lose his cool quickly, Jimin is temperamental and hot-blooded and he protects his heart as fast as a flying bullet; ruthlessly. This doesn’t mean he gets angry over every little thing or throws healthy critique out of the window the moment it arrives, no. He does need to be treated gentler at times, though.

He also doesn’t stay angry for a long time. His anger will evaporate quickly, and Jimin has no problem apologizing or sitting down to talk about the problem afterwards. Sometimes his rage might disappear even in the middle of the actual disagreement. He forgives with little hesitance and with the blink of an eye. He will forgive even bigger wounds that might not be fully healed yet — he holds probably the shortest grudges known to man (unless he’s being petty).

On the surface, this could appear elusive or shallow, perhaps naive, but his introverted nature gives him an enormous emotional depth. While Jimin doesn’t show these things on the outside, the people around him or those very close to him can occasionally glimpse his measured ever-growing but an intense emotional state. Why hold pointless hate towards someone who hurt you and never brought anything good into your life? It will do nothing for Jimin’s growth; therefore, it is pointless to torture himself with.

Clearly, this dips into another one of Jimin's biggest assets. His ability to grow. Essentially, Jimin lives a life of constant transformation. He never stops growing — for some, perhaps too fast. People can often forget Jimin’s introverted nature in the light of his allure and friendliness until he pulls back and retreats into his shell. He finds a safe space to recharge, just like other wallflowers tend to do. Jimin doesn’t use this time just to relax or laze around though. Very detail-oriented and observant to his surroundings and himself, Jimin’s individual time is mostly used for reflection and flourishing. Jimin spends a lot of time analyzing himself, his deepest parts — asks himself who he is and what are his values, how can he improve or change to outgrow his current situations or challenges. There’s always something new to discover about him and his character, new corners and crevices to uncover and get to know. It doesn’t matter if one knows him for a few months or years. In his continuous bloom, Jimin can and will surprise. This makes him unpredictable and while on a normal day this trait can be a great thing, Jimin is also more likely to cancel pre-planned events on a whim if he has a sudden change of heart.

With his focus on present life Jimin can have trouble seeing far enough into the future, making him afraid and indecisive in some cases. The tendency to actively avoid planning for the future or certain long-term commitments and plans can cause a sporadic strain in Jimin’s romantic relationships or financial hardship later in life. Luckily, Jimin is well aware of this weakness, and he actively tries to work on it like for everything in his life he desires.

Actually, Jimin strongly strives for wealth and financial stability despite not being power-hungry. Since he had never had the support of a real family, apart from money and food bought in a supermarket, he is used to getting things done with a single pair of hands — his own.

Jimin is a fiercely independent individual and while in rare cases he does reach out for a helping hand, most often he’ll just do it alone and either succeed or fail and try again. Because of this, it can be challenging for him to accept a partner into his proximity readily. Trying to boldly usurp from this need without handling it with care will only result in Jimin leaving. On the other hand, a man who is too compliant to Jimin’s whims and would not keep him on his toes would easily have the man’s attention stray elsewhere.

His dislike for monotony doesn’t mean he does not enjoy domesticity. While novelty is attractive to him, he thrives in the safety of small daily habits and affections that warm up his heart and make his soul bloom with positive energy and love.

What Jimin craves the most and always has is love and affection. Because of his upbringing and the utter lack of parental or pretty much any kind of loving attention for many years, Jimin subconsciously searches for stability and closeness from the people around while also keeping up thick walls around his heart. It’s difficult to secure Jimin’s trust and devotion. It’s even harder to become a person Jimin does not fear to reach out to for help and care. And even if, it’s usually only by little. Jimin is extremely cautious about opening up his fragile core and showing how tender and broken he truly is. A man like that will sooner or later become an irreplaceable person for Jimin if the right one is found.

Only, with guys and therefore romantic relationships, it’s hard to pin down Jimin’s type. Just like he loves to browse and challenge traditional expectations, his attraction is also a wandering thing looking for peculiar and aesthetically original. He can easily appreciate the customary ideals of men’s attractivity. Still, nothing will catch his eye more than a seemingly baffling outward charm far from the world’s most handsome male face.

The other depth Jimin is lured to like a moth to a flame and the trickier part here than the initial charm. He’s likely to sway faster towards dark, dangerous and mysterious; someone volatile to give him the addictive adrenaline rush he loves so much. This could easily get him wounded though and leave cracks in the emotionally charged element that Jimin is — no vulnerability and opening up, only new scars.

It would likely take Jimin a moment to notice someone who’s nature is steadier and provides protection rather than risk to his core. The kind of guy who could slowly and patiently open up the shut and brittle bud. Accompanied by such an individual; however, this complementary calmness, security and gentler ways could make Jimin’s character bloom and burst with life in ways he had never been able to before.

      Likes:
Sex: Not so long ago, Jimin would have jumped at every invitation to get carnally intimate with someone else. Since his first time until his graduation, he had been using sex as a replacement for love and later to cope with his trauma. Through pain, love and his repeated stay in St. Mungos, however, he had realised that while his love for pleasure is genuine, the way he sought it out had been anything but healthy. He had come to understand that physical intimacy with a partner he knows and cares deeply about (if not loves) can be much more satisfying than any one night stand or quick pleasure in often dubious places. There's nothing more satisfying than being intimate with the person he loves.

Love: Growing up, Jimin had never been given much love ever since his mother left the living world. Being surrounded by family, often abusive, who hated him and an ignorant father, scarred the man deeply. Deeply nurturing and caring person, Jimin craves to feel wanted and needed, and not just romantically. Jimin doesn't believe love is a singular thing one feels for a single person — there are many ways to love someone; romantic and sexual attraction are not the only ones in existence. Learned from experience, Jimin also finds it foolish to put your happiness and love into one man. It's not like one single human could ever carry the weight of all his love he has for the world around — his friends, his new family, his work, dance and so many other things.

Jealousy & Possessiveness: Linked to his craving for love and being wanted, Jimin is actually positive and receptive towards a partner who can be a bit possessive and have the tendency to be jealous. Is there anything sexier than a selfish lover who wants and craves only him and no one else?

Dancing: Jimin was very possibly born for dancing. Of course, he had never thought he could work as a full-time dancer and have the amount of wealth he had always wanted. Still, he is content teaching other people to dance, occasionally performing for someone else and having the time to get lost in music all alone too. A short dance with this man can to many be a lifetime experience. While dancing, Jimin's charm is often to the absolute max, and it's easy for him to reach out for other's hearts this way. Personally, Jimin prefers sensual and sexy choreography, often almost erotic. He has a lot of variety under his sleeve and can dance practically any street dance style, contemporary and even bits and pieces of ballet.

Dark Arts: Jimin doesn't believe in light magic being good and dark being bad, apart from a few exceptions like the Unforgivable curses. He thinks what makes magic, Light or Dark, bad is the intention behind it, the motivation and desires fo the caster, not the magic itself. Therefore, Jimin is very interested in Dark arts and Magical objects. He had started collecting books and scrolls, anything he could find on Dark arts during Hogwarts already. His collection of this material had only grown since thanks to some of his connections, and he keeps all of it secure in his office room at home. The knowledge of Dark arts and things related had proved very useful in many cases since Jimin had started to work for Gringotts.

Potions: While not naturally talented in them, Jimin had worked himself up on a high level when it comes to Potions making. He isn't employed anywhere, but he does have a small clientele of people who come to him for his brews. One of Jimin's specialities is a Wolfsbane potion he is often willing to sell for meagre costs to the people who need it and keep it completely discreet.

Werewolves: Jimin loves werewolves. He held no negativity about them, which goes along with his open-minded personality but also his experience. Growing up in a loveless family, Jimin had found a second one for the time being in an older man Pike, who was a werewolf. While Jimin had never deeply opened up to him about his trauma or home situation, he had spent a lot of summers over, sleeping at the man's apartment or just spending time with him. After graduation, this experience had been his biggest motivation to turn one of the lands he had gotten from his father's will into a sanctuary for Lycans. While still kept discreet, Jimin is known for his affection towards werewolves and is willing and happy to help these people fight the discrimination, for example, help find them long-term employment.

Spell-creation: Jimin loves tinkering with new stuff and experimenting so it shouldn't be a surprise he often busies himself with coming up with new ideas for spells or incantations. Some of these ideas never come to life, but there are several smaller spells Jimin had already crafted into the real deal, or a previously made spell Jimin had altered a bit to his liking. Jimin's strongest talent as a wizard had always been his spell-work, it shouldn't come as a surprise this is something he is good at.

Physical Affection: This shouldn't come as a surprise considering Jimin's want for love and desire for pleasure. Affection doesn't solely mean an intimacy between lovers though, Jimin is like a bottomless pit when it comes to hugging, light touching and generally just platonic physical affection. Once he gets close to someone, he barely even realises his tendency to touch someone, the closer the friend, the more frequent his affection is. It's a delight when this is given back in similar or at least some measure. It makes Jimin appreciate, and value said friendship even faster and deeper.

Cooking: Having to take care of himself since he was nine, Jimin's skills at housework are master level. It had taken him a lot of failed attempts, some blisters or cuts and tears to learn how to cook. A nine-year-old child shouldn't have to spend hours upon hours in the kitchen trying to feed himself. Jimin had never done anything by halves though, and thanks to this, he had amazing skills as a cook. He likes making food because it's another activity that calms him and relaxes his nerves whenever he feels too stressed or overwhelmed. The delicious food is always the best part, though.

Spicy food: Jimin is greedy when it comes to food. He has a big appetite and loves trying new stuff or new recipes. He likes spicy foods though, and ironically, one of the most favourite chilli slathered foods he likes is a Muggle junk food. Precisely, Korean 2x Hot Chicken flavoured Ramen.

Sewing: Again with the housework — with any dirty or torn clothing, it was solely on Jimin's shoulders to take care of it. Feeling trapped in a house where he wasn't wanted, had led him to look up information on the internet about sewing and needlework. This practice is another balm to his soul, which greatly calmed him down whenever he felt lonely and too big for the house he used to live in with his father and step-family. Over the years it had evolved into a hobby of his and Jimin had even later on taken a course on cloth-making.

Rapping, poesy and lyrics writing: This is a bit of a secret pleasure he doesn't share much. He likes to sing and rap, and he often pours his feelings into his notebooks. The pages are full of scribbled poems and lyrics, mostly related to these past experiences. While Jimin is not a bad singer, he believes he is better at rapping, so he tends to prefer it. He actually has a few homemade records stashed somewhere in a box or two where he keeps some of the stuff intimately connected to him.

Being an overachiever: Jimin is a busybody. He hates having nothing to do and enjoys creative work and excitement. Boring office work at the Ministry for the rest of his life wouldn't be something he could do without going crazy. He tends to work on many things simultaneously and enjoys developing new abilities and knowledge. Whenever there's a free space in his schedule, he has to fill it up with something, be it work-related stuff or hanging out with a friend. His competitive nature only adds to his need for constant development and growth. Therefore it shouldn't be a surprise to find Jimin involved in more than one professional field of work or striving to learn a particularly challenging language just because he finds it useful.

      Dislikes:
Drugs: This had been a recent development. Jimin had been on his way to serious addiction during Hogwarts, trying to drown out his hurting heart and trauma similarly like with sex. After graduation, the incident that had almost cost Jimin live and his ex, motivated the man to seek a psychologist and further help with his issues. It had been more than a year since he had last touched any of these substances. He loves feeling sober.

Clubs: Linked tightly to his traumatic experience, Jimin had been avoiding clubs for a while ever since he had gotten better about seeking our short-term highs to bury all his issues and pain deep inside his mind. He finds he cannot fully relax inside these establishments unless it's a quieter bar, where one doesn't have to scream over the music to be heard. There are a few exceptions - one is a club owned by his friend, and the other is having a constant company of someone he trusts and feels safe with.

Rejection: He is used to rejection but that doesn't make it any less hurtful. While it can often seem like his heart couldn't be scarred more, he had been proven repeatedly that this is not true. The severe rejection Jimin had to deal with through his life had left a mark deeper than he often realises. Moreover, Jimin tends to tolerate a lot of pain and unfairness on his account if he is blinded by rush inducing love, the kind Basil sparked in him; dangerous and unstable with no steady ground beneath his legs. It is of no surprise then, how protective Jimin is of his privacy and secrets, scared to open up to people. It can be hard for him to appreciate himself sometimes or to believe in someone else's love for him.

Failure: A minor dislike, compared to the previous ones. He had learned early that if he wants to accomplish anything, he has to accept the possibility of failing and having to try again and differently to finish his goal and acquire what he desires.

Early mornings: One thing for sure, Jimin is not a morning person. Weirdly, he likes to get up early sometimes, even watch the sunset from time to time, but the process of waking up and getting out of bed is the true pain for him. If he didn't get enough sleep before waking up, his mood could be even worse. Generally, one should not try to talk to Jimin much until he had his morning tea. Affection without words is always welcome, though.

Nothing to do: Probably one of the hardest things for Jimin. There's not much problem for him to relax, but an outright lazing around while lying on the couch and staring at TV or a wall (unless he is cuddling with someone) can literally drive him crazy. It's impossible for him to not actively do something, be it a minor action or a more straining one. The feeling that comes with not knowing what to do or having nothing on his list to do next is one Jimin hates with a passion.

Violence & bullying: Both something he had experienced, Jimin has a deep dislike for people who hurt other's feelings unnecessary or for pleasure. He sometimes believes negativity or a bit of violence is needed if the reason is adequate, and he can turn a blind eye to it, but it still makes his stomach churn uncomfortably.

    • History:

Elijah Hale and the art of Obliviation

It was unfortunate for a Pureblood from a traditional family to fall in love with a muggle. This was exactly the thing which happened to Elijah Hale. He met his future wife, Melanie, while he wandered around the muggle city during an evening walk. He had been charmed by her beauty from the start and hadn't thought twice about approaching her. He hadn't planned on coming back home that night and feeling so foolishly attracted towards a woman who held no magic. She was smart, strong and charming and somehow managed to soothe his lonely soul like no other before her with simple words and few smiles.

Unable to help himself, Elijah sought her out at the same place again, since he had found out she worked at the bar he had last visited. Each time he was with her, the man fell deeper and deeper into his growing feelings until he, despite knowing his family would disapprove, invited Melanie to a coffee. With a wide smile, she accepted, and that's how their relationship started.

It wasn't easy, on both parts though. For Melanie, meeting with Elijah meant hiding him and their meetings from her first husband, though their relationship at that time was already quite strained. For Elijah, it meant sneaking out at dubious hours and hiding Melanie from his family — his parents specifically, hated Muggles and Muggleborn wizards with passion. And so with a constant fear of getting caught, the months and years went on. Elijah hadn't expected for the relationship to last this long, and eventually, he had been unable even to entertain the idea of giving up the muggle woman.

With that realisation, the man came to his brother and told him everything. Supportive of Elijah's love, they, in the end, decided on Elijah faking his death so he could freely live with Melanie, unafraid of his parent's wrath. They planned it out carefully, spent a few months working it out, and the plan had actually gone perfectly. Well, almost. Elijah's brother, Scott noticed how Elijah seemed to hesitate or brood during the past months despite the fierce love he held for the muggle woman. Wanting the best for his brother and knowing he would never truly let go of the guilt and 'what ifs' after running away from this life, Scott ended up straying from their plan.

During the night they executed this before they parted Scott pointed his wand at his brother's back and obliviated him. He made Elijah forget all about the wizarding world, him or major parts of his family. He gave the man a new identity — Elijah West — and helped him (as a "friend") move in with Melanie after she divorced her husband and to make sure Elijah couldn't bump into someone from the Hale family. He stayed in contact with him for a little while, but over the years slowly cut off his ties to his brother completely and left him to his Melanie and muggle life. Elijah and Melanie had eventually gotten married — Scott never showed up at the wedding despite receiving the invitation.

Pre-birth and Jimin's early childhood years

The day Jimin was conceived hadn't been anything special or romantic. Unfaithfulness, slip up of a married man who had been on a business trip and staying in a hotel next to Min Woo's apartment and dojo. It was a dirty one-night stand of a man who wasn't careful enough. Min's situation was a bit harder. She had been in Britain only for a short while after running away from her hometown and changed her name. The constant oppression, the pitying glances thrown her way because she had been born a squib into a Pureblooded family full of powerful wizards and witches — she was unable to stand it any longer. Therefore, Min left Korea and moved to London, muggle London precisely to live a quiet but lonely life. She hadn't known Elijah well, she honestly barely knew his full name but physical intimacy came to her rarely, and she wanted the fleeting pleasure.

She had been shocked to find out she was expecting a baby, of course. But confirming it with pregnancy tests and later with a doctor, she couldn't deny the reality any longer; no matter how unbelievable it seemed. She had briefly considered telling Elijah, but it had been clear that what happened between them that night was a fling, nothing more. In the end, she decided to keep the baby but put no effort into finding the father.

She prayed for a boy, and her wish was fulfilled.

Jimin turned out to be a sweet baby. He was very cheery and easy going. Bright and always smiling, his mother had taken to calling him Taeyang, meaning 'sun'. While he was living with his mother, Jimin didn't really care about not having a father around. He was a big momma's boy and felt cared for and very loved. His childhood had been peaceful up until the age of nine.

The loss and a new family, leading up to his Hogwarts letter

July 17, the date will forever be a time to grieve for Jimin. Few days prior, his mother undergone a serious heart attack and she ended up hospitalized. On 17th, it was the last time her heart pumped before Min died in front of her son's eyes; her heart was too weak to be able to get better again.

And just like that, Jimin lost everything he cared about up until this point. His mother had been everything for him, and he had thrown a huge fit when they tried to take him from her body at first. The situation Jimin found himself in was complicated. His mother didn't have any siblings, and her parents were both dead, so there was no one from her side to take him in. However, they found information about Jimin's father, and they contacted Elijah and informed him about the situation. The man had been shocked, obviously. It took him a few days and a lot of fighting with his wife before he agreed to take in the boy.

Jimin was a spitting look of his mother, apart from his Korean origin, only a few facial features connected him to his father and his half-brother. Elijah had four children in total, but only the youngest boy, Lucky West, was Jimin's actual relative. The rest of the boys came from Melanie's first marriage and were all around Jimin's age. They also absolutely despised him.

Kids can often be mean and nasty, more so than adults and especially in this case. These so-called brothers made sure to make Jimin's life in the house hell. Lucky mostly avoided him, he didn't want to anger his older brothers, and he preferred to stay inside his room anyway. Melanie had been furious with Elijah, of course, and she openly showed her disdain for Jimin too. She wasn't a violent person, but she also held no love or affection for the nine-year-old. A few days after Jimin came to live with them, she sat down the boy and told him she had no interest in what he does as long as he doesn't bring her trouble. She told him he could do anything he wants inside his room as long as he steers clear from her path. She also refused to cook for him or do any basic housework, like washing his clothes or cleaning his room. Apart from spending money on his necessities, she had no desire to busy herself with Jimin.

Therefore, Jimin had been forced to learn how to care about all his necessities at mere nine-years-old. Laundry, sweeping floor or cleaning, going to school and cooking. He had to do it all by himself. Going to his father proved to be unproductive because the man had no desire to fight with his wife when he had barely managed to get her to agree to take Jimin in. He did at least tell Jimin, that whenever he needs books, toys, or new clothes he just needs to give him a list, he'd buy it for the boy. That's how Jimin found himself locked up in his room with dozen of new books, hungry but determined to learn how to cook and do everything else he needed. All the while, he had to endure being tormented by his step-brothers, the feeling of pain and loneliness steadily growing each day.

It was the morning after he celebrated his eleventh birthday, which again changed his life forever. A mysterious wizard showed up at their doorstep in the morning and delivered a letter from Hogwarts. To the shock of everyone, he proceeded to explain to Jimin and his family about the Wizarding World and Hogwarts, changing Jimin's dull and boring life into a potential and hopeful miracle. The hate towards him from his family didn't change, but at least at that moment, a small spark of hope grew inside his chest. Something he could cling to in hopes for better tomorrows.

      First year, 1995 - 1996

Despite his hopes, Jimin's first year hadn't been as amazing as he had thought it would be. Starting with the fact, it was the year after the Triwizard tournament. While the boy was a bit oblivious to the darkness starting to spread through the Wizarding World, the tension in the castle and the arrival of Dolores Umbridge screamed loud. His sorting ceremony was nerve-wracking as Jimin sat on the stool, conversing with the Sorting head for nearly three minutes. Apparently, it was hard to decide between the four houses for the Magical hat. In the end, Jimin got sorted into Gryffindor.

Shortly afterwards, he spilt milk all over another first-year named Terry Kuthe. To make matters worse, the boy turned out to be his dormmate. Terry seemed to make his personal mission to pester Jimin all day and night about the mess in their room he made, usually pissing Jimin off with his aggravating queries. It wasn't his fault he had many books and liked to make notes about what he read, he kept his disarray around his bed only. Jimin had no idea why the other boy felt so insulted by his personal space.

He already had enough on his plate being thrown into a completely new world and having Professor Umbridge strut around the school in her obnoxiously pink robes, but sometimes he felt like the world was out to get him. He had hoped to make some friends, but his nervousness and clumsiness only ended up making him the target of older student's jokes and jabs. He hadn't thought much about his long hair going past his shoulders. His step-mother didn't care enough to take him to a hairdresser, which combined with his pretty facial features and chubby cheeks made him look like a girl according to other people. Being small and thin just made him a better target. He got called a 'girl' or 'girly' that year more times than he could count.

Humiliated, Jimin ended up mostly keeping to himself, reading quietly in the library to find out more about the new world that had opened before him, sitting by himself in the Great hall or wandering around the castle's grounds on a bright day. In the end, he did manage to find a kind soul who brightened up the climax of his first year, though. After crashing into an older Ravenclaw student in a corridor, Phridae Summers, the girl had offered him some help on homework he had been struggling with. Working on school work together somehow turned into a long conversation about arts and music. Jimin admitted to her that day how bothered he was by some students' comments about his looks. Thanks to her, Jimin eventually stopped caring about the jokes and allusions from others as much as before and found himself feeling more comfortable in his own skin.

When he travelled home that summer, Jimin took a long time to reminiscent about everything he came across at Hogwarts. About the way, some students had treated him. He had realised that while he had been busy with learning how to cook or clean, unlike other kids his age, he had never entertained the thought of who he wanted to be. How did he want to look like? What kind of friends did he want to have? How did he want his future to look?

Cutting his long hair short had been the first step in Jimin's neverending journey to find himself. It didn't change anything at home though, apart from Lucky staring at him whenever they came across each other in the corridor going in and out of their rooms.

      Second year; 1996 - 1997

Jimin's second year started much better than his first year. Going back to school, Jimin had changed. Cutting his hair had been only the first difference between his previous version and Jimin, the second year. The boy had grown almost six centimetres taller. He was bright-eyed and louder than before. While he often got embarrassed or unsure, the boy was determined not to spend his whole stay at Hogwarts in the corner reading books again. The first sparks of his sharp mouth and bold personality started to peak out during this time.

As a loud and cheery thirteen-year-old kid with a good head on his shoulders and obsession for books, Jimin had his own opinion on everything. In the dorm, he got into arguments with Terry a lot. In lessons, he was loud and often disturbed the professors despite always answering any of their questions. It was as if the excitement about living in a world full of magic had finally caught up to him.

The best part about all of this? He finally found himself some friends. First, he met Albany Gamble. She had a strong influence on him and his messy ways. Since she was the Gryffindor's complete opposite, she frequently forced him to organize his things and clean around himself.

The second person with whom Jimin found himself involved with, was an older Slytherin boy, Edan Reed. A fifth-year at that time, Jimin came upon the other in an empty classroom smoking and leaning out of a window. This first meeting started off a bit rocky between them since Edan had been caught doing something he probably didn't want to be seen doing. However, when the younger asked Edan for a smoke too, curious, since he saw it with his step-mother and brother, he effectively stunned the older boy.

Some bickering later, Jimin ended up snatching the lit cigarette from Edan's hands to try it out himself despite the other's protests. He was curious about what it was like, plus there was something about Edan that sparked Jimin's interest; made him want to be friends. Of course, when he inhaled for the first time, he only ended up coughing like mad. It made the other laugh though. And Jimin thought the laugh was pretty interesting too. So he tried the cigarette again and ended up talking to the older boy and acquiring an invitation to try Wizarding chess with him. He lost, of course — and then challenged Edan to another game the next day. He came over to the Slytherin table in the Great hall during dinner, red-faced but bold, and demanded a rematch.

Jimin and Edan didn't often hang out in public, though. Being from rival houses, the two of them together attracted too much attention, more than they both liked. Therefore, most of their hangouts happened in empty classrooms, the grounds around the castle or occasionally the library. And connected to books and homework was the last friend Jimin had made that year. Azalea Reed, a first-year and very obviously Edan's relative, had one day approached him as he studied for his next Potions class. Unsure, Jimin didn't was a bit hesitant around the girl at first but studying together turned out to be a lot of fun for him and it quickly turned into a regular thing for them, despite being in different houses.

By the time January came, Jimin had three people to spend time with, and he was happy. Content. He didn't find himself craving the closeness of any more students until another Ravenclaw (both Albany and Azalea were in the house) showed up unexpectedly and meddled with his life. Jimin's new loud and sassy behaviour caught the attention of Carson Donaghue. He popped out of nowhere, intrigued by the boy hanging around two Ravenclaw girls. Carson was charming, confident to the point of arrogance and rather rude. Yet Jimin found himself taken with him. He had thoughts about boys before, but he never got such a clear impulse before Carson, such strong attraction that immediately swept the rug under him.

The crush was strong, fast and intense. Jimin had been so taken with him he barely noticed other students watching and seeing the infatuation as clear as day on him. Jimin didn't care though, he buzzed like a bee under Carson's attention, and he would have done anything the other wanted to please Carson. Blinded by his feelings, he translated Carson's curiosity and attraction as having his feeling reciprocated. When the Ravenclaw boy finally made his move, Jimin gave in without a second thought. He lost his first time to Carson, only to have his heart broken coldly by the other, borderline amused by his naivety and tears. Already desperate for affection and love before this, Jimin felt torn. On one side he felt used, on the other the actual intimacy opened up something ugly and hungry inside him, desperate to feel wanted and desired, which was even more spurred on by Carson's actual rejection.

At this point, things took a turn for the worse, the rumours about Jimin liking a boy spreading around and causing a visible distaste with certain students. Aster Stringfellow had been quite persistent with his comments and remarks onto Jimin's account, but the true sore spot turned out to be Alvin Hadditch who went out of his way to sneer at the boy. The fact that Jimin had been brave (or foolish) enough to bite back with his words, turned their encounters worse. Few times even physical enough for there to be blood. Mixed with the pressure from outside surrounding Muggleborns, his broken heart, Jimin was worse for the wear at the end of the year. During the summer, Jimin actually ended up mixing himself up with a crowd at a muggle club. It was the first time the boy had gotten wasted completely wasted.

      Third year; 1997 - 1998

The situation surrounding Muggleborns had culminated before Jimin's third year, and the Gryffindor found himself unable to return to Hogwarts. Instead, he got sent to France and attended a full year at Beauxbatons. Sorted into Papillonlisse this was where things started to get out of control for Jimin truly, or one might say where Jimin truly entered his rebellious phase, attracted to risky behaviour like a moth to a flame. He had a bit of a hard time with the language at first, but receiving help of a few students, Simone Sunthari being the most helpful out of them, Jimin managed to pick up on it rather quickly. That and the life-saving translation charm of course.

At first, Jimin had been fairly calm and meek. He was at a new school with new curriculum and in a different country. Three weeks in though, and the real trouble started. Pranking other students became the first impulse, and it continued to grow towards his need to be held close and desired, the way Carson had made him feel during their shared night. Following this trail like a hungry dog, Jimin managed to charm two boys into his bed in a mere week. However, it only left him craving more instead of giving him the satisfaction he needed. Some students scoffed at his behaviour, others didn't care, and certain groups had many negative opinions to tell him. Jimin tuned them out. All he cared for that year were his classes, flirting and sleeping with boys and dancing together with Simone. They found out about their shared love for music and dance, which allowed them to bond more than Jimin had initially thought. Additionally, Jimin spent some of his evenings writing letters to his friends at Hogwarts, who seemed curious about his stay at a different Wizarding school.

Overall, Jimin enjoyed his stay Beauxbatons and was sad about leaving his new friends at the end of June. Part of him couldn't wait to be back at Hogwarts inside his bed, though. He also missed his friends dearly and couldn't wait to see them again.

      Summer 1998; the wild phase

Upon arriving back home and before Jimin's fourth year started, the boy busied himself with getting false documents stating he was over eighteen years old from Mishka Danailova he had met prior at a party. With a fake ID, Jimin could buy alcohol and anything more dubious he wanted to get his hands on. His year in France had further sharpened his boldness and obsession for carnal pleasures, and Jimin was determined to seek this out as soon as possible. Nearing fifteen, Jimin looked tall for his age, and while slender, he had shed most of the chubbiness left in his cheeks. Therefore, passing as an older guy turned out to be quite easy.

With this, he visited a few parties before returning to school. The age of men he strayed towards jumped higher than till now, including a tattooed and three years older Hogwarts student, unaware of this at that time yet. Seeing the inked art on this boy, inspired Jimin to get his first three tattoos that summer, along with a new-found interest in experimenting with fashion; dressing more peculiarly and boldly (for example the start of Jimin's period of wearing chokers).

      Fourth year; 1998 - 1999

Jimin showing up in Hogwarts for his fourth year caused a ripple to run through his friends. Azalea seemed a little shocked by Jimin’s outward changes and his snarkier and louder personality. Edan, on the other hand, seemed to like Jimin’s change a lot, complimenting the boy even. For some reason it made Jimin shy around the other for a time.

His fresh abrasive attitude and change in style made Jimin attract more attention in general, though, and he ended up making some new friends that year. Continuing with his pranking habits, Jimin joined up with a seventh year Hufflepuff, Jeremiah Mackey. The two became a duo and got into all sorts of different trouble, earning several detentions in the process.

Clementine Russell, who held a particular liking for drinking and smoking, was Jimin’s main “let’s chill and laze around” buddy. They tended to spend time in empty classrooms, discussing topic after topic of either pointless or unexpectedly deep stuff. Since Edan had before graduation and was a bit busier than before, his hangouts with Clementine ended up being a bit of a substitute sometimes, for the time he could not be with the older boy.

The third person Jimin had started to call a friend, ended up being a boy his year who sat with Jimin in many of his classes, Parker Blackstone. Jimin’s tendency to join up with people outside of his age group and therefore the lack of acquaintances in his year, allowed the two of them to grow close quickly — turned their friendship affectionate with a blink of an eye.

Mostly, Jimin tried to divide his time between these three students and his older friends, but he occasionally found himself hanging out with other people too. One particular person wasn't really welcomed by Jimin despite entering into his life again though. After the last fiasco with Carson, Jimin wasn’t keen on getting close to him again, no matter how hard the other tried or how caught up he seemed in Jimin. Carson wasn’t used to rejection, and instead of giving up he only tried harder to get to Jimin, which developed into a big game of cat and mouse, where Jimin liked provoking or teasing the other just to push him away and get the upper hand. It gave him a rush of excitement. He liked being mean to him after his experience with the other, although he wasn’t really angry with him anymore.

It was also thanks to Carson he happened to notice a familiar face amongst older students. Tattooed and a seventh year, Jimin had recognized him easily as one of the guys he had ended up leaving a party with, but instead of being kicked out afterwards, he got cuddled up in bed with him.

Curious, Jimin approached his senior, shifting his focus away from Carson. Jayden Dunne was someone who seemed rough around the edges, but to Jimin, he was nice. They started to hang out together a lot, but they obviously slept together, not just platonically sneaked around. It made more than one person upset and jealous. The sudden and absolute disinterest from Jimin made Carson upset, of course, but no matter how he tried, he seemed to have no luck in catching Jimin alone. And once the plague hit the school like a tsunami wave, he spent even more time with the people he cared about, constantly worried about their health, Carson being the last thing on his mind.

      Summer; 1999

Jayden’s graduation saddened Jimin a little, but they continued to meet up the coming summer anyway. The two of them and occasionally also Jimin with Clementine, partied during the summer like crazy, Jimin falling deeper down the rabbit hole with addictive substances he experimented a lot with.

They did not always end up going home together. Instead, they left with the different people they met during the evening. Oftentimes though, Jimin did wake up at Jay’s place the next morning.

During one of these parties after they got absolutely plastered when Jimin and Jayden even went to a tattoo parlour and got themselves some cheesy matching tattoos. Jimin considered Jay as one of his closest friends by that point, and he got to meet some of his older friends. Aeric al-Busuri Regan, particularly, was a very captivating man in Jimin’s opinion. Although, he didn’t seem to swing his way.

Feeling disappointed by this, Jimin left the party early to try his luck at a different bar, called ‘Sparks’. He ended up trying out some harder illicit substances, which brought him to his knees. Totally out of it for the rest of the night, Jimin got lucky to meet Pike, who had watched him with concern for some time. Not willing to leave Jimin there to his end, he took him to his apartment and catered to the poor boy. Jimin was far too deep in his self-destructive tendencies to see what it was doing to him though, even though he sometimes felt awful. The morning after he woke up at Pike’s had been one of his worst experiences so far, but it had nothing on what followed after.

During a party, he was hanging out in public toilets alone, not too drunk but definitely not sober either, when two guys entered the room. They had watched Jimin prior, unknown to him. For some reason, they gave Jimin the creeps, but his buzzed mind didn’t give it enough importance at first. He rejected their advances, but they never backed off, not taking ‘no’ as an answer.

A few hours later, Jimin woke up in intensive care at St. Mungos and refused any offers to call his family or friends. Anyone, but Edan. He didn’t know why, but he felt terrified to have anyone he knew in the same room, apart from the older boy.

The moment Edan showed up, asking what happened, and Jimin saw him, he burst into tears and clung to Edan unable to say a word. After he calmed down, he told Edan in a quiet voice about why he ended up in the hospital. He refused to see anyone else for a while, and even after he got out of the hospital, he spent a lot of time at Edan’s place before he finally gathered himself enough to go somewhere else. Not willing to go home just yet, Jimin surprisingly sought out Pike, remembering the man's concern about his well-being, and ended up spending the rest of holidays at Pike's house, getting to know the older man a bit more and under his gentle care, despite never telling him what happened. The lack of questions made him feel safe.

      Fifth; year, 1999 - 2000

Coming back to Hogwarts, and with a new tattoo on his navel, it was obvious something unpleasant had happened to Jimin. Visibly quieter, less social and with dark circles underneath his eyes, Jimin looked troubled. He had awful nightmares and shied away from any kind of physical affection. The only person he didn’t mind getting hugged or touched by was Edan, but the boy had graduated a year prior, and the lack of his presence in Hogwarts stuck out like a sore thumb to Jimin. He missed him dearly, and the letters they exchanged were not enough to soothe the aching loneliness inside him.

Others were, of course, trying to help Jimin. Especially Azalea tried to keep close to the other, but Jimin felt trapped by her affection, trying to look out for him. They had a big fight, once Jimin couldn’t take it any longer. They made up a few days later, and Jimin admitted to being unable to sleep but refused to talk about it more. Azalea, the amazing friend she was, stopped prodding the issue and instead started supplying him with potions to help him sleep. This made Jimin very grateful to her.

Overall, Jimin spent more time on his studies than anything else (or writing into his diary and missing Edan). He prepared for his OWLs diligently and even ended up tutoring a cute second-year girl, Pixie, who had asked for his help during lunch in the Great hall. It was a good distraction for him. Her cheeriness calmed the boy’s anxious emotions well.

His evenings, however, were worse. The effects of the potions eventually started to wear off, and his dreams came back. This made him ache for Edan’s company more than ever, but he didn’t feel brave enough to plead the other boy to meet up with him in Hogsmeade. Instead, he drowned himself in substances and cigarettes, often alone in empty classrooms, which is how he came across Basil Stricklander for the first time.

Sometime during March; found by an accident while smoking, the scene felt almost like a reverse situation of his meeting with Edan. After a minute or two of silence and staring, Jimin offered Basil to share, which the other accepted. Although they haven’t talked much, the silent moments with the Slytherin were nice, and Jimin found himself meeting up with Basil in the same classroom again and again for the rest of the year.

As the summer vacation drew closer, Jimin impulsively decided to get drunk and sneaked into the castle a bit of alcohol, using a secret path into Hogsmeade, he heard about from another student. He had intended to drink alone at first, but his friend Parker had wormed his way into it. Jimin didn’t mind at the start, but as the alcohol broke down Parker’s walls, he confessed to Jimin how worried he had been about him that year. He admitted he hadn’t wanted to pressure him into telling him anything, but he had wished to be there to comfort him. Both giggling drunkenly and staring at each other, Parker suddenly blurted out something along the lines,  'You make me nervous, you know. Good nervous, though.'

Still sane enough to get the meaning of it, Jimin leaned a little closer, wanting to test Parker’s reaction. Seeing the boy gulp nervously at his sudden closeness and flush, Jimin got hit with the realisation the other had a crush on him. He’s not sure who leaned in first, or how exactly it happened. Still, he could remember their lips pressed together as he pushed Parker against a wall with sudden desperation, kissing hungrily, his body shivering with the need of not having been touched in a year and some.

The moment was short-lived, though. When Jimin felt Parker’s hands brush his skin underneath his shirt, he panicked. They pushed away from each other, dazed and both with their own turmoils. Parker ran away from the classroom, leaving Jimin shaking all over with a much darker cloud hanging over his head. Sobbing, Jimin found himself curled against a wall, unhappy and depressed. What confused him, even more, was the longing and thoughts of Edan, swirling in his mind though. He fell asleep in the room that night and hadn’t approached or talked to Parker again during the month left before the end of the year. They both chose to avoid each other.

    • Summer, 2000

The start of summer was a hard time for Jimin. The incident between him and Parker left Jimin with an aching heart, and his thoughts and need for Edan’s comfort had grown over the last month to a monstrous size. It took him some time before he gave in and visited the older male. Talking with Edan’s arm around his shoulders and eventually falling into his embrace, Jimin had confirmed what he had already thought. Edan’s touch made him feel good, not anxious. So despite being scared of rejection and more than sure about Edan’s heterosexuality, Jimin ended up risking their peace by kissing the other.

Shocked, but happy, when Edan turned out accepting of his need for him, they didn’t stop there. They were both nervous and at times a bit awkward, but the choked out flame inside the younger male got revived by Edan’s touches that night.

The next morning they continued like always, both unsure and nervous, which led them to leave things about what happened between them unsaid, each coming to their unique and wrong conclusion about the other. It didn’t impact their friendship negatively; on the other hand, it seemed to make them closer than before. Maybe that’s why neither of them pushed to talk about their shared pleasure that one time.

Jimin’s visit at Edan’s was like a magic pill for him. While not fully okay to turn back to crazy partying or flirting with random guys, he did reach out to Jayden and agreed to go dance with him to a friend’s celebration. Said friend turned out to be Aeric, and the majority of the night he and Jimin spent in a quieter corner talking and drinking. It was somewhere between his sixth or seventh shot when Jimin decided to test how he felt about the other possibly touching him. He remembered being into him when they had previously met, and while that attraction seemed a bit muted for some reason, it was still present.

Starting to flirt and briefly brushing their skin together, Jimin noted his own lack of anxiousness and Aeric’s confusion and hesitation. His palm tentatively landed on Jimin's thigh, as if questioning his behaviour, and the Gryffindor was elated when no dark thoughts came out to play at the closeness. Sometime later and a few more drinks in, they stumbled together into an empty bedroom making out, hands down each other's pants and passing out together in bed right after.

Morning came and with it also Jayden barging into the bedroom, where Jimin spent the night, only to freeze in the entrance and gape at Jimin and Aeric in shock. While they haven't gone far together, the rumpled or missing clothes, red faces, Jimin half-sprawled over the other were clear indications to what exactly happened between them. What Jimin shocked was how much Jay seemed angry with him, unreasonably. He stormed out of the room, followed by Jimin who cast a shy smile at Aeric before ducking out of the room. They argued badly. It didn’t look too well until Jimin got surprised by Jayden kissing him out of the blue. The tension disappeared as fast as it appeared, things between them went to a different path, Jimin couldn’t complain. He was confused by the other's behaviour, but he trusted Jay with himself.

Visibly, the Gryffindor started to stray back into his old ways. He still drowned himself in illicit substances and again started to seek out the pleasures of sex. However, this time around,  he sought out only people he already knew—no more crazy partying and unknown beds.

Jimin spent the rest of his holidays visiting Edan, staying over at Pike’s apartment and occasionally hanging out with Jayden. He barely showed his face around his step-family, the only one he started talking to a little was his half-brother Lucky, who had never seemed so bent on hating him.

      Sixth year; 2000 - 2001

Sixth year prepared a lot for everyone, not just Jimin. Following the explosion in Hogwarts, the Dome appeared and isolated them inside. Albany had gotten injured during the explosion so Jimin was very worried about her well-being and had to make sure she would be okay. Moving back to the dorms gave Jimin an unpleasant surprise in the form of having to share close space with Alvin of all people. Parker roomed with him too but Jimin didn’t feel ready to talk to the other yet, so he tried to avoid them both.

Frustrated with how everything turned out, Jimin wished he could just apparate away, maybe to Edan’s place. However, since that wasn’t possible, Jimin turned to someone he had never thought he would seek out again. Carson was a good study buddy despite their rocky past, and while he had hesitated at first in coming to the other, the Ravenclaw’s company surprisingly calmed his nerves. While nothing between them happened at first, a few study sessions later Jimin wasn’t surprised when they found themselves making out on the floor instead of finishing their homework.

Dishevelled and panting, limbs tangled together was how Alvin found them to his shock, which immediately turned into shouting and insults. Red but angry Jimin yelled back at the other, the tension turning up fast but luckily ending with Jimin storming out instead of fists. Unable to share sleeping space with someone who hated his sexuality, Jimin managed to change his dorm and happily accepted Basil as one of his new roommates.

Things calmed down after that considerably, and Jimin found himself helping out around the castle and in the kitchen, to busy himself. He tried to occupy his free time as much as he could — from dancing, school work, smoking to journaling and fooling around with Carson; he was glad for any distraction.

However, to his shock, coming back from the kitchen one day he couldn’t find his diary, realising he forgot to hide it away like he normally used to before leaving the room. This sent him into a panicked state because those pages held a lot of intimate information about his life, and he didn’t want a stranger to read those things.

The timing couldn’t be worse for the Dome to finally break and the students were sent back home, including Jimin who had to accept not seeing his piece of written privacy anytime soon.

Nervous and on edge, Jimin came back to his father’s house this time to stay with the muggle family. As if his luck hadn’t already been bad enough, police came knocking on their door the next day to tell them Elijah had died during a car accident coming back from a business trip.

The family broke down in front of the Gryffindor, who was the only one who hadn’t shed a tear that evening. Jimin’s only emotion was numbness. While he was grateful to the man for taking him in, he hadn’t been the best father to him. Melanie, his step-mother though, closed herself in her room and like a light switch became a devastating mess unable to function in the house. This left his brothers without her service as they were normally used to, especially the youngest one. And Jimin, despite not feeling an ounce of pity for them found himself cooking their food, washing their clothes and making sure the house didn’t rot away. The gazes from his brothers burned into his back every single time he cooked another dinner, judging but hesitant. He didn’t have time for parties, but it didn’t stop him from doping himself with potions and Muggle drugs. It was his only release since he had no journal to write into and did not run around dancing in clubs. He did get new tattoos though, and even two piercings at a Wizarding piercer.

His step-mother did not say a word of thank you when she finally put herself together enough to start functioning again a little. His older step-siblings stopped giving Jimin negative attention though and simply avoided him. The only surprise came in the shape of his youngest brother, who had been civil to him for a while but had never truly confided in him before. Crying into his shoulder, curled against him, Jimin and Lucky ended up falling asleep in Jimin’s bed that night and somehow it made the Gryffindor feel better too.

A bond forming, Jimin left for Hogwarts with a promise to send Lucky letters and a new diary in his trunk. The fact that Parker still wasn't talking to him started to look a bit ridiculous to Jimin, and on a particular day when he noticed Parker fleeing into a classroom from him, he finally went after him. It didn’t end with them fighting but Parker confessing about his latent attraction towards men Jimin forced him to acknowledge by that kiss, which made him panic. The talking turned into kissing, this time without running any abrupt exits. Parker later shocked Jimin with asking him to be his first time. He told him he wanted it with someone he trusted and found attractive, and Jimin fit both categories for him. He agreed, and on a transfigured bed in an empty classroom, he showed Parker the ins and outs of physical intimacy.

His Gryffindor friend hadn’t been the last person Jimin had gotten intimate with that year — the other boy being Basil, who as Jimin found out had been the one who stole his diary. A few mind games and suggested blackmail later (which had Jimin offering some sexual favours) left Jimin in tears over this, which had Basil trying to make him feel better again and admitting he didn’t mean what he said. Accepting the care but also admitting his attraction towards the other boy and his offer as genuine, Jimin thought he might be met with a sharp rejection. When he got a half-hearted disagreement and weak excuses on why they shouldn’t, Jimin pushed further, able to recognize a mutual attraction by that point. Basil eventually gave in, and Jimin ended up taking Basil’s first as a male lover. And their first time turned into many more, Jimin was taken by the other more than he had expected.

      Summer; 2001

Jimin’s following summer became a bit more adventurous. Basil had graduated, being a year above him and Jimin signed up to Academy Ansasi, a summer school. Able to meet students from all over the world, Jimin made a fast friend within Akiyama Ren. They both liked clubbing and boys. It was easy for them to get along. A few parties later, a drunken make-out session with Ren made Jimin painfully aware of how deep his feelings for Basil actually ran. He didn’t want to sleep with other guys despite not having any actual relationship with the other. He knew he wanted more, but he was too afraid to send a letter to Basil or just tell him about his feelings. He didn’t want to get his heartbroken.

He vaguely remembered seeing a letter from Gringotts when he got back home, but he hadn’t opened it right away and ended up forgetting about it. He busied himself with anything he could in the meantime, desperate and hoping for a letter from Basil. Looking for a part-time job, Jimin got later pleasantly surprised when they accepted him as an instructor for advanced contemporary and street dance classes held once or twice a week. He met a lot of interesting people there. One of the most talented dancers in his class at that time, who sparked Jimin's attention was a fellow Asian guy, Liu Wen. While he was rather unapproachable, Jimin wasn't turned off by the other's abrasive and stoic attitude. With Jimin's resilience, the two actually ended up kicking off a rather peculiar but close friendship.

It wasn't until the second half of August he actually got a parchment addressed to him from his lover, telling him he wanted to meet up. Basil came over on a day his family wasn’t home, the two of them not even making it into Jimin’s bed at first. He got asked out by Basil later that day, which left Jimin elated and happy. He had never had a boyfriend before, and Jimin knew he had fallen hard for the other. It felt like a dream.

      Seventh year; 2001 - 2002

Jimin’s seventh year meant a lot of studying for him. There were only a few of his friends left at Hogwarts, one of them, Azalea and Parker — though he studied more often with the boy since they were the same year. He held off from social integration that year, similarly like in his first year to bury himself in books and focus on his education. Despite being known as a prankster and a bit of a troublemaker Jimin had always taken his studies seriously and stayed between the top students in his classes — never handed homework late and answered any question thrown his way right. Although he had never been the most talented at planning for the future, he had a good idea about what he enjoyed, what kind of strengths he had and what he wanted to do. He had decided a while ago on picking seven subjects for his exams.

With his finals coming closer, dating Basil was a bit harder, but they still found time to meet up in Hogsmeade. They were unable to stay away from each other for too long. Some instances left Jimin a bit shaky when the boy had gotten a bit meaner towards him, but overall Jimin was happy.

Then the news about Basil’s engagement with Rosaline Bane was presented to him by Basil during one of their meetings at Hogsmeade. He knew it wasn’t Basil’s fault, but it still made him feel awful. He expected a lot at that moment. A fight, a break-up. He hadn’t expected Basil to say he wants to run away together! While not averse to the idea, there was no way he could leave before finishing his education. Luckily the other understood and they decided to make plans about it later on. Jimin was unsure. While he loved Basil and wanted to be with him, he had always loved London, and this would mean leaving all his friends, everyone he loved dearly behind. Would he regret it? Or would he not?

As the school year drew closer to its end, Jimin was more and more nervous about everything. At one point, when he and Basil had a nasty fight that left Jimin hurting all over, he had been tempted to tell the other he couldn’t just pack up and leave with someone he didn’t trust not to hurt him and sometimes treated him awful. On the other hand, he loved Basil deeply, and he knew the Stringfellow did too. So when his boyfriend gave him a ring and asked to meet a few days after his finals, at the start of July — Jimin agreed enthusiastically.

He closed his final year at Hogwarts with passing his NEWTs with satisfying results for all seven and excitedly started planning what to pack for the runaway.

      Adult life; 2002 - 2003

Jimin didn’t get to enjoy much of his now-adult life at first or run away anywhere in the end. A few days after Jimin’s graduation and before his meet up with Basil, the young man got caught up in an explosion that happened in one of the side-alleys in wizarding London. He survived, but was transported to St. Mungos in a critical condition and barely conscious.

When they asked him who to call to the hospital, consumed by pain and everything around him, he answered with two names. Edan Reed and Parker Blackstone. The same day later Jimin was officially declared comatose. Few people visited him as many had no way of knowing about Jimin, including Basil and Azalea. The healers had been positive about Jimin’s recovery as the male showed signs of flexion in his state, but as the weeks turned into months, the unsureness had seeped in eventually.

The improvement came in on December 4th, when healers who were taking care of Jimin noticed first signs of consciousness. The change was gradual and spanned over a few weeks during which Jimin started to become more aware, for longer and longer periods of time. The moment this happened, Jimin started receiving potions to help him recover muscle mass and get his body back into a healthier state. Once he fully woke up, the spells that monitored him and the ones preventing brain damage were taken off. It took Jimin some time to be able to leave the hospital. Despite the wonderful thing called magic, his body was weak, and he needed some help to walk again. He regained his ability to speak some days after leaving St. Mungos. He stayed with Edan for most of his recovery until he was well enough to be on his own again. The man left his bed to Jimin and first, but after a few days of him curled up on the couch, Jimin had ended up insisting on him to just stay in bed with him.

Once rehab started, it was a chore for Jimin. While the potions he got supplied with helped in his recovery amazingly compared to how it would’ve been as a mere Muggle, Jimin wasn’t up and walking around until the start of March. By that point he was patched up enough to stop leaning on his friend with every little thing, but unable to move out. He didn’t have a place to stay, and his things were still back with his step-family.

Asking Edan for help, the two visited the house to pack up his stuff which would stay in their temporarily shared space until Jimin had a place to stay. The N/As looked gobsmacked at the state Jimin was in compared to the last time they saw him. Lucky questioned him on what exactly happened (he was the only one, though Jimin would swear he could practically see them listening behind the door) and looked ready to cry when Jimin apologized to him for not sending any letters since he wasn’t even conscious enough to do so. Edan and Lucky helped Jimin pack things, along with the shockingly big lump of letters lying on his desk.

Opening them later that evening, Jimin found out the two main senders were the Gringotts and his friend Azalea. Worried, Jimin read her letters first. Growing progressively guiltier as he opened each of them and read about her desire to see him which was obviously left unanswered, Jimin decided to visit Hogsmeade the following weekend and look for his friend there. With that done, Jimin moved onto the letters which were all from the wizarding bank. The contents were shocking for the man. Not only the goblins claimed his father had vaults and possessions in the wizarding bank, which Jimin inherited after his father’s death because he was off-age and his first-born, but they called him Elijah Hale. He heard this name before, he knew about this family. While it sounded unbelievable, how could the Gringotts be wrong?

Perplexed and confused Jimin visited Gringotts the next day with an apology about his poor health as the reason why he hasn’t reacted to the letters until now. The Gringotts confirmed his father’s name and Jimin officially signed papers to claim his inheritance that day. However, bothered by lingering questions, Jimin inquired about a family tree and his bloodline. He was desperate for an answer because this was true; he wasn’t a Muggleborn wizard.

While he awaited the results, the weekend came and with it his visit to the Hogsmeade. He arrived earlier so that he could rest for a while before the Hogwarts students showed up. Apparating still tired him out too quickly. He waited until the train arrived at the village and looked for his friend at the station.

When Azalea saw him she looked ready to cry, which made Jimin almost panic. Hugging her, the girl to his shock broke down in his arms that day. Later, when they were sitting together drinking butterbeer and after Jimin had apologized and told her why he hadn’t replied to any letters until now, Azalea spilt her heavy burdens to him. While they had already been close before, they came out of this meeting much more entwined together, baring more of their souls to each other.

With that sorted out, Jimin readied himself a little to what came next. A week later, with his family tree in front of him, Jimin came to know that neither one of his parents had been Muggles, but both came from Pureblood and strong families to his absolute shock. His mother has been a squib, but she was from a good bloodline anyway. This meant that all these years Jimin spent living with a hating family as a Muggle, maybe they wouldn’t have been necessary if only he had known this earlier. It was like Jimin could not relax at all, because whenever something started to turn out well or finally settle down, another shock landed in his lap to deal with. Emotionally he felt run down.

In May, after months of staying with Edan, Jimin finally moved to his own place. However, after a few days of being alone only with his thoughts and realizations, the heaviness of everything finally fell on him. His missed meeting with Basil, the missed five months of his life, even more, missed months spent on recovery and the recent news he had been presented, it all came upon the man like a tsunami, and he did what he had always done in the past — reached out for illicit substances. It’s how Edan found him sometime later, worried, while Jimin had been completely out of it during that period.

Luckily, with Edan’s help, Jimin ended up patching himself up into an ok-working adult being. While he did not stop turning to addictive substances for relief, he unpacked his things, got a job at Gringotts and found a private Potions Master under which he could eventually take his cauldrons. At this point, Jimin met two people.

Augustus Grosvenor was an apprentice under the same Potions Master, and while the two had very different ideals, with a bit of mutual respect for their varied opinions they became somewhat of friends. Graham Kerr was the other man. Associated with Gringotts and a Werewolf, the two got along well and bonded quickly. Graham started tutoring Jimin in Gobbledygook and were able to get him various books and other material for Jimin to be able to delve deeper into the secrets of Dark arts.

Jimin also started to try to dance again. While he was still too weak to go back to teaching classes, the studio he had worked in previously had assured Jimin he would be welcome anytime once he was well enough again. He did not go back to partying and found himself steering clear of clubs. On the other hand, Jimin started to seek out the company of men again by this point. The most prominent of his casual lovers had been Sid Saunders and Casimir Regan, who Jimin ended up seeking out the longest out of all his flings at that time. Casimir had been the first man Jimin had gotten together with after getting out of hospital.

Life went on this way for Jimin for a while. Jimin grew physically stronger again but was still far from okay.

The next breaking point came in the form of his ex-boyfriend, Basil. Jimin bumped into the other by coincidence and happy to see the man, reached out to Basil that day, hoping to talk to him and maybe, just maybe patch things up despite the missed opportunities. He did not count for Basil being absolutely nasty to him, or being engaged and expecting a child with his fiancée. Shocked and deeply hurt by Basil’s behaviour and words, Jimin holed himself up in his apartment to cry his heart out. Despite not being around the other for a long time, he still held love for the man — yet it seemed like Basil had moved on from him already. The realization hurt, but the outcome from this encounter ended up being one of the best decisions he had ever made in Jimin’s opinions. Reaching out to a psychologist, Felix Zhang, recommended to him back when he had still been at the hospital, Jimin decided to get professional help. He was determined to stop dragging himself in the shallow waters of his past and clean his life up.

He ended up going to rehab for his addiction. He left his therapy sessions with red eyes from crying but feeling lighter than he had in years. Slowly, this started to show on Jimin. Pale skin got brighter and tanner. He gained healthy weight the man didn’t remember having even at Hogwarts, smiled more and eventually resumed dancing too. He made first plans for a Lycan Sanctuary around this time, starting to think on steps to bring this idea alive.

End of October came next, and Jimin found himself in the first relationship after dating Basil. Jackiel Duke was a Muggleborn wizard who worked at Gringotts and attended some of Jimin's dancing lessons. They've been fooling around for some time, but when Jack asked Jimin on a date, he accepted. At the same time, Jimin started looking for a new place to rent, no longer content with his current space. Conveniently, Jimin bumped into a fashion model during his visit to Diagon Alley. Asking her for an autograph and offering to help with her heavy packages, Ava Klein and Jimin ended up getting a coffee together and becoming good friends. Jimin was glad for a company, and it was thanks to her that he eventually found a better pace to live.

At the end of November 2003, Jackie and Jimin broke up for a while. To distract himself and to finally take a look outside of his country Jimin decided to surprise his long-term penpal, a younger Durmstrang student named Nikon Zima. He showed up one weekend in Döttrar Vik, knowing the other boy had planned to visit on that day and surpised Nikon. Delighted, te other invited him to share a few drinks. Getting along, Jimin visited a few times more before inviting Nikon to London over the Christmas and New Years. What started as friendship eventually ended with Nikon kissing Jimin during the countdown and the two ended the night in Jimin's bedroom; not for the last time.

      Adult life; 2004 - 2005

The year kicked off with an unexpected encounter. During Jimin's visit at a club, he once again crossed paths with Basil, who was alarmingly intoxicated. Their interaction took a turn for the worse when Basil's aggressive advances triggered Jimin's past traumatic experience. Seeking to amend the situation, Basil ushered a shaken Jimin to his flat where the two found solace in each other's company, albeit for a short time. Come morning, Jimin discreetly departed to face the responsibilities of his day without waking Basil.

Still grappling with the emotional fallout of the previous night, Jimin sought out his longtime friend, Edan. As they conversed about the unsettling incident with Basil, Jimin experienced a realization: his feelings for Edan ran much deeper than friendship. The extent and onset of these emotions remained a mystery even to Jimin till now, but it was clear that he had been harboring romantic sentiments for longer than he had been aware of.

Jimin took some time process his feelings and at the same time started to move on from Basil for good. He channelled his energies into a project as to not to get lost inside his head completely. He commenced the restoration of one of his family's dilapidated manors, repurposing it into a sanctuary for lycans; an idea he had been playing around with for a while. It felt good to see it come alife and it certainly boosted Jimin's confidence in his abilities.

However, the past had a way of catching up. One day, a sober Basil turned up at Jimin's doorstep, catching him off guard. Their subsequent heart-to-heart was a medley of raw emotions. Basil's confession of love evoked a myriad of feelings in Jimin, from pain to comfort. Luckily, they both recognized there was no future for a romantic relationship between them anymore. They both needed different things and time apart did them good, which lead to a final intimate farewell. Their mutual agreement was to give each other space, hoping to reconnect as friends in the future.

With time, Jimin felt the need to confide in Edan about his last encounter with Basil. As he admitted everything, Edan's became evidently jealous, confusing Jimin. However, as Jimin confessed his newfound feelings, it became clear to Edan that he was the object of Jimin’s affections. Edan reciprocated Jimin's feelings and took the leap to confess, despite not being completely sure Jimin had been actually talking about him. Edan's confession brough Jimin to tears in his disbelief. The twoo of them fell back together despite the years of toeing the line of close friendship and more, deciding to pace their relationship, taking one step at a time.

March was a turning point in Jimin's relationship with Basil. When Jimin heard of Basil's tragic overdose, he decided to see the other earlier than he planned to. He confounded a nurse to sneak into the hospital, determined to show Basil his support and lend him a shoulder of someone who could intimately understand his situation.  Witnessing the tangible determination in Basil to change his life trajectory, Jimin promised to the man to stay by his side through the challenging rehabilitation process despite noticing the other hadn't gotten over his romantic feelings for him yet.

Around the same time, Edan, faced his own demons. Haunted by guilt over his inability to save his ex, Leo, Edan found himself grappling with an emotional maelstrom. It took Jimin a few tries to have Edan open up to him about it, and he made sure to xtry and alleviate the other's turmoil through his support.

In July, Basil was released from a private facility he attended as the initial part towards his sobriety and Jimin took up the mantle of Basil's main shoulder to lean on forward upon his release. With his support, Basil was introduced to group therapy – a place all too familiar to Jimin from his past. He was happy when a sober coach ended up taking Basil under his care, knowing the more people Basil had around him the higher his chances for success were. As weeks turned into months, Jimin couldn't help but notice the gradual yet significant change in Basil's demeanor. The emotional reliance and romantic love Basil felt towards Jimin seemed to wane, shifting its direction. Knowing the object of Basil's affections were Magnus, this initially raised concerns for Jimin. However, when Basil told him remaining celibate in their relationship, Jimin was both shocked and assured. Jimin was sure Basil wasn't aware of the seriousness of his decision, but to Jimin it was obvious that his feelings for Magnus were serious. Basil's younger sister and one of Jimin's newer friend Sage Stricklander, agreed with this, taking her chance to tease her brother about it later on.

With Basil on a promising path to recovery, Jimin's thoughts once again revolved around Edan. Their relationship, having withstood numerous trials, deserved more, and Jimin felt the urge to deepen their commitment. Suggesting they move back in together, Jimin's was overjoyed with his boyfriend's enthusiastic agreement.

March 2005 brought a success for Jimin's professional life. His prowess in potion-making was acknowledged by the Potions Master Guild. Awarded the Silver Cauldron for his innovative modifications to an old ink-restoring potion, Jimin's creation promised a much easier time for people trying to learn from ancient texts and scrolls. Edan and Jimin ended up celebrating this advancement alongside some of their friends.

    • Roleplay sample: Jimin's heart beat against his chest in a steady rhythm as he stood outside a shop with a display of winter robes, looking over the set of mannequins with empty faces donned in expensive textiles. Jimin was dressed in robes from similar material, jet black, pants from dragon leather in the same shade hugging his legs. He was dressed as a wizard, not a muggle now, and the wealth of his family was clear from his clothes, or the family ring that sat on his finger, marking him as the Patriarch. This was something Jimin was still reeling from, but had surprisingly little problem adjusting to.

Perhaps he fit into the look of a Pureblooded wizard so well, because of his looks and dancer’s movements. He held his body straight and tall, and there was fresh confidence in him now. Dealing with Goblins on the daily had also helped him gather his wits. The beings were a bunch blunt and sharp, not an environment to thrive in for everyone.

The red butt of a cigarette between his tattooed fingers shined against the colours in Jimin’s environment. Jimin hadn't been to Sweden before, this was his first time, perhaps not the last. He didn’t fit into the winter aesthetics with his dark sun-kissed skin.

His visit to Döttrar Vik, wasn’t without a reason. He’d been exchanging letters with a student from Durmstrang for the past few months, who he’d eventually found was younger than claimed. He’d been a little ruffled to know Nikon had lied about his age, but it was water under the bridge now. His arrival was unplanned, a spontaneous idea after receiving Nikon’s last letter where he had talked about his plans to visit this place on this date. Nikon had exclaimed disappointment at the distance between them a few times and Jimin thought it might be fun to travel somewhere else like this.

He had asked Nikon for a picture of himself, to have an easier time finding him in person. The boy demanded one back, but Jimin didn’t send any letters back although they likely would have arrived before today. There was no need for a picture, if he was going to show up in flesh. He had been rather gobsmacked at the visual of the other, but he supposed that’s what he should expect when failing to match his mental image with reality.

His mismatched eyes turned away from the shop goods and instead took to watching the people mingling around. He attracted some eyes, at his height and in his clothes—a foreign presence. His freshly re-pierced right ear was decorated with a dangling gold earring that caught the sunlight as he moved.

Ultimately, Nikon’s pale hair wasn’t as hard to pick apart from the students in their Durmstrang uniforms milling about, their chatter echoing through the air. He seemed taller than Jimin had expected and…well, prettier than in the picture. Merlin’s balls.

Jimin chuckled to himself, but beyond that stayed composed. He walked straight towards the other, regardless of possible company around him, not hesitating. "Nikon Zima," he said, his British accent thick in his voice. "I hope you weren’t too bummed out about my lack of follow up to your last response," he smirked and took a drag from his cigarette, cheeks hollowing, before killing the thing. "I figured seeing me in the flesh is a tad more exciting than another round of exchanged letters, innit?"
