    • Height: 180.34 cm / 5'11

    • Appearance:
Alex's body is built of coiled compact muscles acquired through daily exercise and a considerable amount of time spent working manually. His body isn't afflicted with many negative issues surrounding the 'Werewolf curse' upon him, although perhaps it could partially be because of his young age. A certain setback in his everyday life to consider are his back problems, pains and aches which present themselves often around a full moon, at times more intense than others. Occasionally, Alex has to take some kind of pain-numbing potion to get some relief. His back isn't the only part of him to give him aches and pains, however.

The man's turning hadn't been a pretty incident. His evidence is presented in the form of ten bite marks scattered across his body reminiscent of a grotesque painting. Most of these scars are pale with age but it is clear they once were painful and deep wounds, which are now all rather sensitive to touch and changes in weather.

Most turned werewolves have one or two white-scarred bites on their bodies, not multiple, and definitely not as many as Alexey carries. His survival had practically been a miracle, little kept him away from dying that night and those intentions had in the end been anything but merciful of his fate. Some of the places where the teeth marks are branded into his flesh are shoulders, arms, his right calf, ankle, left forearm, lower abdomen and lower back. The last is vivid on his palm on both sides, where the teeth had sliced through. More visible scars are usually covered with spells, as Alexey isn't comfortable announcing to everyone what he is, or having people ogle at them.

As an addition to the bite marks, Alexey’s body also bears a few scars left by claws, although they had responded to a potion regime much better and most of them are lighter and smaller in size - less of a horrific sight. The most prominent claw marks are three distinct lines over his shoulder and over his upper back. Hiding these scars has nowadays become less of a personal need than before. Alexey used to hate the marks marring his body. To his eyes, each scar sliced his soft and healthy skin apart like an ugly crater. He used to think they made him less appealing, but since then, he had accepted them. Although he still prefers keeping them private, with certain people he has no problem baring himself to their eyes anymore. Instead of shame, he learned to appreciate them and his body for being able to survive. They’re a timeless proof of an everlasting battlefield, all the fights he had clawed his way out of.

Scarred and fit aside, Alexey’s body isn’t bulky or overly large. He is of a more slender stature with muscles packed tightly onto his skeleton, which makes him appear smaller despite his high physical strength; a body perfectly made to fit an apex predator. He has exquisite reflexes and a figure perfect for speed. When Alexey doesn’t hide his true nature he often has a certain air about him – feral and imposing. He doesn’t make a sound when walking, always light on his feet, something an untrained person might never notice.

Further drawing away from his capabilities as a predator, Alexey’s looks would land him more on the cuter side rather than rugged and masculine. His visage is youthful and boyish. His face seems small in size with a rounded chin but a sturdy square jaw. He has small but full lips and an especially cute smile. Ears look a bit like elves', smaller in size and visible at all times since he cuts his hair very short. Only the longer parts on the top of his head clearly reveal the curly nature of his brown locks.

Admittedly, most mesmerising are Alexey’s eyes. Round and large they grab attention with their expressiveness and are framed by long and straight lashes. The irises are a mix of green and orange-shaded brown, which sometimes bleeds into a bright amber of a wolf’s when Alexey gets angry or excited.

As a werewolf, Alex isn't overly enormous, but he’s big and intimidating enough to make a normal wolf look like a puppy. A beautiful mix of grey and amber-coloured fur sprouts from his body, very thick and shiny and just as curly as his hair in the human body. In this form, Alex is faster and lighter on his feet and likes to stand on two legs quite a lot. His ears are a little bigger and his muzzle is shorter than the average.

      Dressing style:
Alexey has a rather relaxed, almost cavalier attitude towards clothing, or the lack thereof, within the confines of his residence. He strides around in various states of undress which might seem eccentric to some, but to Alexey, it’s liberating, especially considering how warm he tends to run. However, this carefree habit occasionally bleeds into his outings. Forgetting a shirt or misplacing a pair of pants isn't uncommon for him, and while he’s adept at concealing his scars, it's often someone else's raised eyebrow or startled remark that reminds him of his partial nudity.

Outside of his home, when Alexey doesn’t forget to dress appropriately, he clothes himself with intent. His athletic figure is draped in comfortable fabrics and clothes that offer a tactile experience. You won't catch him in the edgy leather so typical of rebels; instead, he leans towards softer materials—and denim. Whether it’s the cosiness of a cable knit sweater or the luxurious touch of cashmere, Alexey’s wardrobe is a comfort to him weaved in with practicality.

For this reason he doesn’t wear robes often—has rather dislike for them. Their flowy, all-encompassing nature finds little favour with Alexey, deemed restrictive and at odds with his love for movement and flexibility.

Describing Alexey’s style isn’t straightforward. It’s a mix that marries the refined look of academia, the neatness of preppy, and the laid-back and more colourful vibe of a 90s hipster. Earth tones and muted tones of light or dark blues and greens, whites and reds dominate his wardrobe.

Alexey also has his favourites he can be seen wearing often, often a combination of something looser with a different piece that hugs his figure. He has a distinct preference for layers, often donning a shirt under a tweed car coat or trench coat, with a cable knit sweater thrown on for good measure. Footwear oscillates between formal dress shoes and casual Vans or sneakers. Denim, in its many avatars – from jackets to overalls – finds a special place in his closet and is probably the biggest part of his wardrobe.

His bottoms range from casual slacks and loose denims to sinfully tight jeans, complementing his frame. And when summer arrives, Alexey exchanges long pants for denim shorts which end in the mid of his thighs unlike the usual length which comes down to knees. Alexey finds it much more comfortable and less restrictive, unconcerned about showing more skin.

    • MBTI Personality type: ENFJ-A; The Protagonist

    • Personality:
Alexey is a man of complexity—fierce intensity and soft vulnerability, showing his gentle nature weaved together with inherent wildness and non-conformity.

His feral quality is immediately evident. There’s an undeniable fire in his eyes, a raw, uninhibited spirit that refuses to be tamed. It's this rawness that can make him come across as unhinged, supported by his frequent jolly and daring nature, but it’s softened by an inherent gentleness present in him. It would be akin to a wolf dressed in sheep’s skin, only for that to be the expression of his true nature instead of a mask to hide his claws behind.

To a point Alexey wears his heart on his sleeve around the people he trusts, hiding from the rest. He is kind-hearted and generous and it isn’t that hard to see he is also deeply compassionate. Alexey is tender and nurturing, a trait often overlooked in apex predators or animals at the top of their hierarchy. He might be standing at the top of his pack, but Alexey is aware of the responsibility that comes with it, contrary to the delusion of many people. While empathy and softness are often seen as weakness or something not befitting ‘real’ men (something Alexey finds dumb), it's precisely this softness, juxtaposed with his leadership, that makes him so captivating and compelling.

In a pack, an ‘alpha’ wolf leads by example, and in most instances has a calming effect on their family. They don’t puff. They don’t attack. There’s no need to prove anything because they’ve already proven it. Alexey acts similarly. His life had been riddled with battles and scars harsh enough to prove to himself his tenacity and strength, and at the core he has a heart of gold he managed to nurture rather than harden through his experiences.

A man of few words, Alexey's silence often speaks louder than any speech. He's private, almost to a fault, but this silence isn’t borne out of indifference. On the contrary, it's a testament to his observant nature. He perceives the world in shades of grey, nuanced instead of black and white and this worldview combined with his creative thinking lets him come up with ideas that go over other people’s heads, way ahead. This neutral stance and ability to think out of the box can sometimes be misinterpreted as apathy or naivety, but in reality, it's a reflection of his experience and quiet intelligence.

While he might be vocally less expressive, Alexey's actions resonate loudly. He believes in the power of touch, gestures, and shared moments and it is also what works the most for him in turn. A comforting hand on a shoulder, a protective embrace, a kiss or a playful nudge – his affection manifests in myriad ways and of varied intensities. And for those rare moments when he does speak, he doesn’t limit himself in both politeness and sarcasm, a dry wit that many find endearing.

Alexey makes for a very captivating and mysterious man. Unpredictable yet exciting, he's the kind of individual who keeps you on your toes, always guessing, always intrigued, but not too much, so that he doesn’t become a threat, unless that is his intention. This mysteriousness isn’t a deliberate façade; it's simply a reflection of his reserved nature. He’s uninhibited in his passions, yet there's a restraint, a protective wall that he's built around himself over the years and few get to peek behind.

Unlike one might expect after the hardships Alexey had gone through, he is often a bundle of positive energy, likened to a ray of sunshine on a gloomy day.  The weight of the world can drag many down, in its natural unfairness and penchant for testing everyone’s capabilities, dousing their spirits with gloom. Alexey isn't one of them. He carries a mix of optimism and realism that tethers him down to earth. His bright outlook can be almost out of place given the challenges he's faced. Perhaps it is precisely those challenges that have shaped his ability to see beginnings where other people see endings; where others see pitfalls, he only identifies opportunities. While he is quiet and reserved, his laughter and unyielding zest for life help him appear radiant and friendly. His unwavering positivity isn't a mask or facade and its source is his steely determination and ability to live authentically outside of societal conformity.

Infected at a meagre age of four, Alexey has never known the luxury of an ordinary life, unburdened by the weight of wolf's instincts. Yet, as if a testament to his resilience, he not only embraced his reality but also moulded it into strength. While his dislike and incapability for consuming Wolfsbane potion further distanced him from a simpler life, Alexey wrought his life path towards making his identity a home rather than enemy like many others.

In many ways, Alexey is a minimalist. He finds solace in simple things and nature, preferring the authenticity of the wilderness to the shallow materialism of urban life. This frugalness and adaptability are what makes him so tenacious. Alexey is more than just a Werewolf; he's a fighter and a survivor, both metaphorically and literally. Drop him on a deserted island, and he'd not only survive but might also build himself an empire thanks to his resourcefulness and flexibility.

His predatory senses, sharpened over the years, make him skilled in gauging his opponent's vulnerabilities. One might think with his softer good-looks he is only a threat when transformed but his impressive skills in kickboxing beg to differ, only furthered by his abnormally heightened strength and senses. Alexey might not shine in academic settings, but his genius is unmistakable when under pressure. His sharp instincts, good common sense, and ability to strategize makes him a formidable opponent.

He is alert, creative and individualistic, and feels suffocated by people who invade his peace by pushing their opinions and ideas onto him. A fiercely independent soul, Alexey treasures his freedom. His heart also hides a simmering fury, prevalent especially when confronted with discrimination against werewolves. While he appears usually as someone cool and calm, the rage brews just a layer beneath. Alexey often likens his anger to a caged beast—always there, lurking in the shadows, demanding constant vigilance. It's a testament to his self-awareness and determination that he tries to channel this rage through constructive avenues, using it as fuel to drive him forward rather than letting it consume him. He’s managed to control this side of him through therapy and meditation, his years of dedication showing even some improvements in the temperament of his lupine side, despite the general narrative.

Much like the misunderstood wolf, Alexey is often more timid than aggressive. The world often perceives wolves as fierce beasts that will attack humans on sight, but in reality, they are creatures shy, elusive, cautious, and hesitant. Alexey embodies this duality perfectly. His exterior might often radiate strength and confidence, but deep down, there's a timidity and cautiousness, a vulnerability that he seldom reveals.

Another trait he shares with his lupine counterpart is a fierce protectiveness. His loyalty is unparalleled. Once he bestows his trust upon someone, which can be quite a challenging feat, he's bound to them for life. He feels the inherent need to protect and care for those he loves, yearning for their affection to fulfil his sense of belonging, and this can manifest in overprotectiveness—one could say he’s almost territorial. Truth is Alex likes his space and doesn't like uninvited individuals invading it. He can be very possessive of people or things he considers his, and the closer he is to his transformation, the louder these instincts are. There's a subtle greed inside him, a desire to claim, not control, certain things – be it possessions or people – as exclusively his.

He is also rather at odds with human power structures and hierarchies, chafing against his free spirit, leading to an often taut relationship with those in power or rejection of concepts he finds constraining or dumb. He is rather stubborn and doesn’t back down easily, and is unlikely to limit himself by criticism or rejection. Alexey holds the notion that there's always a blueprint for success, and it’s only a matter of trying and finding the right tools to reach his goals. He isn’t competitive and prefers to seek things out due to his passion and ambition rather than anything external.

He can struggle with social cues sometimes, he has an easier time understanding animals, which he regards with much more respect and expectation of complexity in their behaviour and personality than many people. He has a talent of imitating behaviours and sounds of other species, similarly to tigers, who lure in prey through lulling them with familiar sounds with deceptive ease. Many dangerous creatures, sensing both his respect and ferocity, act with more docility around him, or had allowed Alexey to work with them easier.

      Likes:

Travelling: Alexey has an insatiable thirst to explore and see the world. He is curious and enchanted by new  experiences, cultures, animals, and natural wonders the world presents. Whether it's the intricate labyrinths of bustling cities, pulsating with life, or the tranquil embrace of the mountains where bears outnumber humans, every journey satiates a bit of Alexey's relentless curiosity.

Kickboxing: Alexey likes physical activities and after what he experienced, therapy hadn’t been enough to channel his anger, which is why he had taken up kickboxing. His guardian had plenty of money to secure him a former kickboxing champion to coach him, which now shows in Alexey’s skill.

Nature: Wilderness, for Alexey, is a realm of solace. Amidst the towering trees, undulating hills, and sprawling landscapes, he finds peace. As a werewolf, the wild had cradled him during his tumultuous years following his first transformation.

Mountains: Mountains, in particular, have a special place in his heart. The rugged terrains and breathtaking vistas hold an allure that's hard to resist. For Alexey, few sights rival the ethereal beauty and freedom of mist leisurely cloaking a hillside.

Kissing, cuddling and physical affection/intimacy: Alexey places a lot of importance on physical affection and contact. He loves to cuddle with people he is close to and likes to hug people and scent them so they smell like him. He also likes any type of kisses, be it platonic or of romantic nature. Alexey gets more passionate when feelings are involved beyond just shallow physical attraction—it dials up his desires up by a hundred.

More likes: werewolves, being undressed (fully or partially), being barefoot, working with his hands, camping, hiking, travelling, rock climbing, alcohol, plant medicines, honey, animals, the stars, the moon, mist, thunderstorms, wolves, urban exploring, rivers, family, loyalty, gardening, writing, reading, road trips, jumping in puddles, meditation, herbs, psychedelics, cooking, mystery games (solving fictional crimes), muggle crime movies, drive-in movies, cemeteries (they’re quiet), dawn and sunrise, flower crowns, denim, storm chasing, piercings (wants to get one, but haven’t found the courage yet), likes stubble on guys (especially Ashley), Green day, skateboarding, setting things on fire (ocassionally), being a chaotic cracked (with his friends), howling at the moon, scaring people (good naturedly), listening to music, concerts and festivals, spending time with his friends, meeting new people (not always), backpacking

      Dislikes:

Fenrir Greyback, his pack and Voldemort’s ideals: The cruel treatment and torture at the hands of Fenrir Greyback, his pack and other werewolves who were part of Voldemort’s army, under the twisted ideals of Voldemort’s, left scars. These memories breed contempt for bloodpurism, twisted ideals and prejudice against muggleborns like him.

Back pains: Occasional back pains trouble him, sometimes sharp on pain after his transformations. Alexey had hurt his back before and the strain of his physical change can sometimes put strain on his body. The discomfort is undeniable, a pesky reminder of life's little irritations.

More dislikes: werewolf discrimination, floo travelling, closed spaces, cages, handcuffs, being trapped for full moon, Wolfsbane potion, prejudices, bloodpurism, homophobia, gay people who make their sexuality their main personality trait or don’t know how to take no, heavy perfumes or overly sweet and spicy perfumes (he has sensitive sense of smell), overcrowded places before full moon (sensitive senses), mismatched socks, leather pants (too warm), rooms full of posters, fireworks (only from up close, why are they so loud?!), flashing lights

    • History:
      Pre-birth; Daria's and Gerasim’s Family Life
Alexey’s parents met at their workplace—Daria was a nurse, while Gerasim worked as a biomedical engineer called to their hospital for a bit of an emergency. Their initial encounter, while seemingly coincidental, was the starting point of their passionate relationship. As they interacted more, mutual respect blossomed into affection. A casual exchange of contact information led to more deliberate meetings, with Gerasim finally mustering the courage to ask Daria out on a date. Their compatibility was palpable, they loved each other a lot, and it wasn't long before they decided to tie the knot, uniting not just in love but also in shared aspirations and dreams.

The joys of marital bliss were further amplified with the birth of their first son, Nikodem Rzhevsky. Nikodem's arrival was a meticulously planned event, with Daria and Gerasim eager to step into the roles of nurturing parents and after an initial rough period, they settled back into their peaceful lives. However, life, in its typical unpredictable manner, threw them a curveball that neither had foreseen. When Nikodem was eight, he started at random times levitating things he touched, and neither of the parents knew what to do with it. Only the arrival of a Ministry Official was able to shed a light on their situation.

To their astonishment, they discovered the existence of a world hidden behind a veil—a world full of actual magic. Nikodem, it appeared, had been blessed (or cursed, depending on one's perspective) with magical abilities. He was a wizard. The couple ended up arranging their son’s education in the wizarding world, and at the age of eleven, Nikodem joined Koldovstoretz. He was we-liked for the most part, thrived both socially and academically, but as he delved deeper into more obscure topics, he developed ideologies that many would have considered radical, if he had not kept them to himself, and in the future would prove to pave their way towards Nikodem’s deterioration into a monster of a man.

      Early Childhood; The Unexpected Addition
Fifteen years after Nikodem’s birth, life presented another surprise for Daria and Gerasim. Despite having no plans of expanding their family, Daria discovered she was pregnant. This revelation sent ripples of shock through the Rzhevsky household. With their elder son now a teenager and absorbed in the wizarding world, the idea of starting anew was daunting. There were whispered debates and even a fleeting consideration of not proceeding with the pregnancy.

However, Daria, with her nurturing spirit, remained steadfast in her resolve to bring this life into the world, and nine months later, in 1985, Alexey Rzhevsky was born. His first year of life was marked by the typical milestones of an infant, from the gurgles and chuckles to the first hesitant steps. However, even in these formative months, Alexey’s nature started to take shape, revealing a child who was profoundly reticent and shy. As the calendar flipped to 1987, Alexey’s quiet demeanour became more pronounced. His gentle voice, when he chose to speak, often got lost in the bustle of daily life, leading to him getting overlooked far too many times.

While some saw Alexey's shyness as endearing, his father struggled to connect with his son's quiet nature. His inclination towards solitude and hesitancy to speak stood in stark contrast to the youthful exuberance of other children his age, further emphasising his meek temperament. In contrast to that stood Alexey’s older brother, Nikodem—who often weighed with his presence on Alexey like a dark shadow. Nikodem’s existence had always been larger than life in the eyes of the younger Rzhevsky—and despite their relationship being rather strained, Alexey still looked up to his brother with a kid's naivete.

The family dynamics changed with the circumstances of Alexey’s birth. The parents grappled with the challenges of raising a second child, particularly after such a long gap, sure, but Nikodem struggled the most, having to reconcile with the sudden shift in his family's attention. For Nikodem, who was comfortable and used to the role of the only child, the birth of Alexey meant divided attention, shared resources, and most contentiously, a shared bedroom. As 1988 dawned, the rift between the two brothers grew. The teenage Nikodem, already in the throes of adolescent angst, viewed Alexey as an unwelcome disruption. The fifteen-year age gap only accentuated their differences, and each year, as Nikodem left for Koldovstoretz, Alexey felt a keen sense of abandonment deepened, amplifying his feelings of isolation.

Yet, amidst the underlying tensions, Alexey's innate creativity began to flourish. He displayed an early penchant for drawing, often immersing himself in intricate sketches (very well done for a kid) that captured the vivid tapestry of his imagination. His illustrations weren’t merely depictions of the world around him but were infused with fantastical elements that hinted at his yearning for the magical world, who he had been told about and warned he might likely not be as special as his brother. In tandem with his art, Alexey showcased a gift for storytelling, but barely anyone knew about his talent.

Alexey's fascination with magic was palpable. Perhaps it was his elder brother's tales from Koldovstoretz or maybe an inherent pull towards the mystical, but Alexey was inexorably drawn to the arcane. Each whispered story of spells, each clandestine magical item in their home, fueled Alexey's dreams. He harboured a deep-seated wish: to follow in Nikodem’s footsteps and immerse himself in the study of magic. Sadly, he never got the chance to go through the usual experience of a child having their first magical accidents.

      The Attack; Family’s ‘Homicide’
The year 1989 will always remain an incredible but horrific memory. At the heart of this horror story was Alexey's elder brother, who, after their graduation from school, moved away. England, with its rich Wizarding history and diverse culture, beckoned him. Eager to make something out of himself, he frequently penned his exploits, dispatching them back home, giving Alexey and their parents a vicarious glimpse into his adventures.

However, a disconcerting silence soon replaced the regular stream of letters. Weeks turned into months, and the void left by the halted correspondence was palpable. Unbeknownst to his family back home, Alexey's brother had encountered Fenrir Greyback and was turned into a Werewolf. Fenrir, a notorious figure, known for his malevolent intent and virulent beliefs, took Alexey's brother under his wing. The allure of the pack, the intoxicating sense of power, and Fenrir’s persuasive ideals proved irresistible. This is where Nikodem’s radical beliefs proved to be his downfall, shaped him into something much more sinister, irrevocably transformed.

Fenrir's ideology centred around expanding their werewolf legion, infecting anyone they could, with an insidious focus on young blood, believing them to be more malleable. A casual mention of his lineage, of a family with a young sibling back in his homeland, unwittingly signed a dark pact for Alexey's brother. The mandate was clear—return home and either kill them or turn them.

Therefore after some time, Alexey's brother made a seemingly innocuous return. The initial relief of his reappearance was palpable, and anything sinister went unnoticed. That is, until the fateful full moon night, of course. Under the malevolent grip of the moonlit transformation, the elder sibling changed into a harbinger of doom. Alexey's parents, caught off guard, bore the full brunt of the werewolf’s feral assault. They were brutally mauled, their lives extinguished in a whirlwind of fury and carnage.

Alexey, though grievously mauled, miraculously evaded death. His survival instincts, combined with a sheer stroke of luck, allowed him to barricade himself inside his room, providing a temporary respite from the onslaught. He was horrified to find out the beast had been actually his older brother—who took wounded and dying Alexey to a healer, whose ministrations ensured his survival, albeit barely. However, this wasn't a gesture of benevolence. It was but a precursor to another grim chapter—not even his wounds were tended to fully, only just so it would ensure his survival.

The Cage; Fenrir Greyback’s pack and Voldemort’s Werewolf Army
Still reeling from the trauma, a weakened Alexey was then unceremoniously thrust into Fenrir's malevolent fold in England. The following years, starting with 1989 up to 1998 were a period of time filled with hardships and abuse for Alexey. Abducted at the age of four, now condemned to become the same monster during a full moon as his brother, he found himself amidst Fenrir Geyback’s pack. Nikodem’s malevolence towards Alexey set the younger kid up with years of torment and mistreatment within the pack.

Alexey, with his innate shyness and meek character, soon became the object of relentless abuse making an easy target. He didn’t grasp everything that was happening to him at that time, but he could recognize enough difference between life at home, to see the werewolves around him were horrible people (besides being the ones who hurt him). He tried to run away a few times, but after getting literally shackled and faced with painful repercussions, he stopped for a long time and simply took what he was given.

However, over time, the incessant torture took its toll. Alexey's nature began to crumble under the weight of his experiences. In a desperate act of self-preservation he finally lashed out, and an incident with an older female werewolf, who sought to take advantage of him, resulted in a gruesome end for her. It was hardly the last time Alexey had to fight tooth and nails for his survival and against the abuse—but it eventually resulted in his tormentors becoming cautious of him, alleviating his bleak situation a little.

More importantly, that single act, born out of sheer desperation, marked a turning point for young Alexey. He began to see the beast within him not as a curse but as a means to his salvation and survival—his strength. While the werewolves around him revelled in their bloodlust, Alexey strived to harmonise with the beast, aspiring to embrace the strengths of the wolf without losing his humanity. For his age Alexey possessed an innate understanding that the wolves' ideology was flawed—even though the complete realisation of their wickedness would only dawn upon him as he matured.

Years later, the infamous Dark Lord made his resurgence in 1996, spurring a big shift for the werewolves. Fenrir's pack found themselves aligning with his dark forces, just as many other werewolves due to the ongoing discrimination against them in the wizarding world, forming a sort of unofficial Werewolf Army. This forced Alexey to take in various new views and opinions that were out there about werewolves, meeting new faces and characters, adjusting his worldview once again—and most importantly realising that not everyone with the bite was as malevolent as Fenrir’s pack.

Amidst these newfound acquaintances there was one who stood out from the rest—a younger man named Graham Kerr (although Alexey never got his full name). He was inexplicably kind to Alexey from the moment he met him, searing his place in the boy’s memories alongside his soothing scent.

The defeat of Voldemort brought about the dissolution of the Werewolf Army, splintering them into smaller fractions. Alexey, for the first time in years, tried to break free once more, only to be thwarted and violently subdued by his own brother—who ensnared Alexey in silver chains. It was in this precise state that a man named Ashley Morigan found him. Unsavoury werewolves either scattered or taken out, Ashley freed Alexey from his chains, transporting him to London.

Upon reaching the city, Alexey's battered state demanded immediate medical attention. Ashley entrusted his care to the family of a friend, where the mother, a healer, tended to Alexey's wounds. By the time this chapter in Alexey’s life ended, the boy was aged thirteen, but the trials he had endured aged him far beyond his years.

      New Life; Adoption and Inheritance
Finally out of the nightmarish life amongst Fenrir Gryback’s pack, but left orphaned and still a minor, Alexey needed a new home. While many would have found this daunting enough, Alexey’s circumstances were further complicated by his Werewolf ‘condition’ and wizard’s status (his first signs of magic happened during his life with the pack).

Alexey ended up being very lucky to come across Esmond, an old and eccentric pureblood patriarch, who took to Alexey since their first meeting. Esmond’s bloodline carried an unblemished legacy of magic, but his own sentiments were marred by disdain for a big part of his family who had shown allegiance to the Dark Lord, Voldemort. Alexey, a Muggleborn child and a Werewolf to boot, was certainly someone the family would not approve of, and Esmond saw this as an opportunity to perhaps put his inheritance into better hands, while providing a young damaged soul with everything he might need for a comfortable life.

Of course, with the adoption and acquiring British citizenship, Alexey had to give up his Russian nationality. The laws in Russia did not allow dual citizenship. However, the young boy, aware of his maternal heritage, expressed a desire to acquire Polish citizenship by descent, desiring to feel closer to his mother. Esmond, respecting his wishes and understanding the importance of a connection to one's roots, ensured that this desire came to fruition.

The transition to living a normal life wasn't easy. Alexey carried emotional scars from his past and he’d spent years living a half-feral life, so there were a lot of things he needed to deal with or catch up on. Esmond, ever the attentive guardian, ensured that he was provided with therapeutic sessions to help Alexey cope and heal. A few months into these sessions, as Alexey grappled with his moods and pent-up anger, a suggestion was made for him to take up a physical activity (Alexey ended up picking kickboxing) as a means of channelling his emotions. Without hesitation, Esmond enrolled him.

To further catch up Alexey with everything, tutors were hired to educate him, particularly in reading and writing. It was almost miraculous how quickly Alexey adapted, soaking in knowledge with an enthusiasm reminiscent of a fish effortlessly navigating water. However, Alexey's lycanthropy ended up being an unexpected challenge in the early time after getting adopted. Esmond, procured the Wolfsbane potion to aid him during the full moon transformations, having enough money to afford the treatment, but within a few tries of the potion, it became evident that Alexey had an allergic reaction to one of the ingredients. The search for alternatives began—but Alexey was aware that nothing matched the efficacy of the Wolfsbane in the current time.

The solution, as Esmond saw it, was a change of environment. He decided to relocate to a secluded house he owned in the Scottish Highlands. The vast expanse of woods and privacy it offered seemed perfect for Alexey's monthly transformations as long as Esmond relocated for that night.

In what seemed like nature's own way of aiding the young wizard, after one of these transformations, Alexey awoke to find a pack of wolves surrounding him—uncannily intelligent to boot. This phenomenon, startling at first, became a regular occurrence, with the pack making appearances even when Alexey was in his human form. In time, these wolves seemed to form a bond with both Esmond and Alexey, though their affinity for the latter was unmistakably stronger.

Life seemed to be taking a turn for the better and it continued to do so, even with the return of an unexpected guest—Ashley Morigan. Alexey's surprise at his arrival was palpable, but what started as a sporadic visit slowly turned into more regular encounters. Over the years, their relationship transformed and became closer, allowing Alexey to grow out of the initial feelings of hero-worship into something more mature and grounded.

Simultaneously with all of these changes, there was a stream of tutors coming and going from the family home, so that Alexey could begin his education towards acquiring his NEWTs. Through his curiosity and his Polish background, he managed to discover the curriculum variance between Durmstrang and Hogwarts. He expressed a genuine interest in understanding the differences between his education options in Poland and the potential opportunities available in England. With the vast resources and connections of his guardian, Alexey was privileged to enjoy a hybrid educational experience, integrating elements from both Durmstrang and Hogwarts through various tutors—one thing that Alexey had certainly noticed was that Durmstrang graduates seemed to be more at ease with the concept of darker things, even creatures and beings—like him. Overall, this enriched learning path was reflective of a broader spectrum of magical education in Europe, offering Alexey a unique experience he was very happy about.

At the age of sixteen, his once more confined life took an unexpected turn when he chanced upon a group of Hogwarts students lost in the notorious Knockturn Alley (a place he frequented with his guardian). Guiding them to safety, this fortuitous meeting blossomed into newfound friendships, breaking Alexey away from his reclusive shell. It was amidst these social interactions that he experienced an awakening of sorts, realising his attraction towards boys. Without any preconceived notions or societal biases imbibed into him, Alexey's discovery of his sexuality was easy. It was only during a night out at a club, when his friends caught him sharing a passionate kiss with a boy, that he fully grasped the significance of his orientation. Thankfully, the revelation was met with acceptance and humour, particularly from Jet Dylan, who also turned out to be gay.

In 2001, Alexey embarked on a new journey, apprenticing under an experienced Magizoologist. This venture not only expanded his horizons professionally, but also introduced him to Finneas Mohr, a Koldovstoretz graduate. Their shared appreciation for simple, rustic lifestyles provided a strong foundation for their budding romance and many of Alexey’s firsts.

The following year, 2002, was a whirlwind for Alexey. He appeared for his NEWTs at both the British and Polish Ministries, showcasing his expertise in a diverse array of subjects he had decided on, ranging from Dark Flora & Fauna to Potions. However, the year also brought about profound personal loss. Esmond, his guardian and benefactor, passed away, bequeathing several properties and businesses and most of his family’s considerable wealth to Alexey. The inheritance was not without its challenges—as Alexey had to deal with the scorn of Esmond’s family, whole were scandalised at Esmond’s decision. Alexey, suddenly burdened with so much, realised the need for financial guidance. He promptly employed a professional to both manage the newly acquired assets and teach him how to as well, including the ancestral inn, White Wyvern, nestled in Knockturn Valley.

Alexey's emotional life was also in flux. The dawning realisation of his romantic feelings for Ashley played a pivotal role in his breakup with Finn. Luckily, the two parted amicably and remained friends. Alexey then ventured into a series of casual dalliances with a few men, steering clear of any committed relationships until he met Ulrik Næss in 2004. Their relationship, though short-lived, was intense and lovely, but ultimately cemented Alexey’s decision not to date until there was a change within his feelings for Ashley. Instead, he enjoyed more time with his friends Eve Allard and Jet—with whom he ultimately also enjoyed some more intimate endeavours.

Galina Krylova, Durmstrang's deputy headmistress and a professor, became a significant influence in Alexey's life around the same time, when he managed to gain an Apprenticeship with her, now that his previous one successfully finished. A herbology expert with a keen interest in dark creatures, she showed no prejudice against Alexey's condition. Instead, she wholeheartedly supports Alexey's quest and motivations for a remedy to curb werewolf aggression towards humans, something Alexey has been working on and experimenting with for a few years already.

2005, then marked a significant professional milestone for Alexey. His expertise in tracking and handling magical creatures, particularly the dangerous ones, earned him a contract under the Beast Division of the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures Department. Around this time he also met two wizards, who both ended up becoming his friends.

Jun Zhen—an older cousin of his friend Alexander—and a darker type of a man was a chanced meeting during a night out—and despite their both rather reserved natures around strangers, they seemed to click well together, and found themselves spending more time together on multiple occasions.

The other person Alexey got to know was a fellow Herbologist, Ian Moray. Also a Hogwarts graduate, who Alexey quickly warmed up to. Their shared interests paved the way for collaborative efforts to explore magical flora (and offering Ian a greenhouse for free use at his home) with the shared desire to pursue finding more potential aggression curbing remedies for werewolves. As of late, there had been some promising indications of improved behaviour during Alexey's full moons, perhaps a testament to his relentless pursuit of a cure—however he’s not planning on trying out his observations on any living humans anytime soon.

Most recently, he’s also rekindled his casual intimacy with Ember Hawke, who he had hooked up with in the past.

    • Roleplay sample: Alexey was curled close with the weak and pitiful wolf he had found inside his woods earlier that night. His frame was unhealthy and self-inflicted wounds seeped a copper smell, which made his snout itch. His scent was bitter, laced with the stench of Wolfsbane, which made him bristle in something close to disgust. He tried to give it more warmth by snuggling in closer, and when it pressed close to him with a whimper, he couldn’t leave it alone for some reason. There was a movement behind him Alexey ignored, a few wolves pressed to his flank, the others scattered around them.

He breathed deeply, amber eyes trained on the slight figure as it started to change and whimper. He stayed still as the wolf-human scuttled to his feet, looking all wobbly and fragile. Their eyes met for a moment, the other’s hazy and confused. The werewolf snorted. Perhaps he was feeling amused; he wasn’t sure. Certain emotions were hard to identify in this form and they often melded into ambiguity. He continued watching, unbothered by the sound of retching, as the wolf-human bent over at the waist, while a curious wolf cub winded around the man's legs, threatening to trip him.

An internal pull signalled Alexey's imminent transformation. Rolling over with a quiet whine, he continued whimpering as his bones shifted, sun-kissed skin replaced fur, and fingers sprouted where paws once were. Waves of pain ebbed and flowed as his form contorted, but he endured, as he had countless times before.

Post-transformation, with sweat beading on his brow, a snout nuzzled him, the she-wolf's worry palpable in her far too intelligent eyes. Rising to his feet, muscles aching, Alexey was keenly aware of the health disparity between him and the other man. While his physique wasn't robust, the man's frailty stayed evident, mirroring the ill health of his wolf form. Alexey could feel the starting pinpricks in his back, and knew, if he didn't treat it fast, he'd be plagued with sharp pain for the rest of the day. He hoped to finish this conversation fast for that reason.

Perhaps, he could invite him in, if the other wanted. Alexey didn't let people often inside his abode, but another werewolf piqued his curiosity; he was unafraid of any potential danger, knowing he could protect himself. Right now, he had no wand, no clothes near him, but his bare state didn’t phase him either. The other person was much the same, only looking like they might perhaps fall over from exhaustion. Even in this form, Alexey could still smell how bad of a health the man was in, and part of him wanted to help.

Feeling a nudge against his side, Alexey patted the head of one of the wolves surrounding him, his eyes not leaving the stranger. "Werewolves are a rare sight around here. Where did you come from?" He asked, voice curious and soft. He sniffed a little, and was surprised, when underneath the odour, the scent was familiar. Huh. Interesting.
