Dearest Reed,

I suspect you will be quite pleased to be receiving mail from me so soon after I’ve called on you for assistance. Would you believe it if I were to say that I simply cannot get enough of you as of late? It is a pleasant thought, I've been told, to know that you've held my attention for longer than a moment.

Beyond the pleasure of my words, I wanted to bestow upon you a reminder so that you may have sufficient time to make the appropriate arrangements for our little outing at the start of the month. Should I find out that you have forgotten, I shall become quite cross with you. I shall send someone ahead of schedule to reorganize my side of the closet and shall expect to find things in just as pristine a condition as I found them the year prior.

What I mean to say is that if you’ve been entertaining your lady friends, I expect you would have the decency to dispose of all of their belongings and any evidence of their existence. Not that I mind reminding you of what a gem I am in comparison. I do expect to have all of your attention to myself for the weekend; however, I suspect I need not tell you the obvious. How you are able to set eyes on any other woman when I am in your company is beyond me. But alas, men are confusing creatures.

Apart from the obvious, shall we try ice fishing? I hear it is ideal circumstances to find frozen salamanders as they tend to be drawn to bodies of water. Alternatively, I've been open to allowing you to educate me in the art of cooking. Not that I intend to step into the kitchen more than necessary, these are duties better suited for you, and you certainly look much better doing it than I ever would. Regardless, I will come prepared with a wardrobe that will equip me with any adventure we may partake in; therefore, do not hold back on account of me. I am fearless, after all.

Enclosed you will find compensation for your services. I do thank you for taking care of that matter for me so discreetly; I assure you my company at the start of the month will only prove further evidence of my gratitude to you. You may take that to mean whatever you'd like; you're probably right.

Affectionately,
❦ Genevieve ❦

Genevieve,

I would believe it, yes.

The usual arrangements have been made, including extra housekeeping and privacy charms. We can ice fish. I have a surprise for you too.

I assume a receipt is not required.

Dearest Reed,

There is something particularly charming about the straightforwardness of your letter. I am almost convinced that my intervention was unnecessary and that you've handled everything to my liking. You've done well to remember that I love surprises. Considering they are coming from you, I am almost certain that I will be over the moon about it.

Perhaps you will be rewarded with a surprise all your own. We shall see if I am feeling as generous toward you as I am at the moment. Until then, stay out of trouble and continue to look forward to seeing me.

Affectionately,
❦ Genevieve ❦

P.S. No receipt necessary.

Genevieve,

Your luggage has been transferred to an undisclosed location. We are not going to France this year. Please meet me at the attached coordinates on the morning of 31st of January.

Adventure awaits.

Dearest Reed,

Have you a surprise in store for me? How absolutely delightful! Though I must admit I am quite displeased we will not be going to France this year, how else shall I woo you if I cannot utilize my impeccable French? Regardless, I am certain that I will not have to try very hard at all. You'd be foolish to deny me. I look forward to being impressed further. I shall see you on the 31st at 9 am. I am certain I do not have to remind you but do not be late, I do hate to be kept waiting.

Affectionately,
