[three broomsticks] memory lane (Neville)

Meeting her friend Neville at Hogsmeade meant a trip down memory lane for Luna.

She had visited her father at home the previous day. They had been talking until late at night, first about her most recent travels from which she had returned only that afternoon and then about her upcoming meeting with Neville and then they had drifted off to the past. Overall Luna was happier now than she had been as a student but she always felt nostalgic when she thought about her time at Hogwarts. Especially now that it was the anniversary of the battle of Hogwarts again.

It was odd how even the darkest of times could result in the brightest memories. Her fourth and fifth year had been when she had learned how it was to have friends, to belong to a group of people. She had been a part of the D.A., had fought Death Eaters at the Ministry of Magic and a year later, when they invaded Hogwarts, she had fought them again. During her sixth year the girl had become a leader of the D.A. alongside her friends Ginny and Neville. She had been abducted by Death Eaters, and imprisoned at Malfoy Manor. She had been a source of comfort for Mr. Ollivander and she had been there to fight at Hogwarts the night Harry defeated Voldemort.

It had been traumatic for her and for her friends and yet, the memories of these late Hogwarts years were like a treasure that Luna wanted to protect. She thought that, one day when she?óÔé¼Ôäód have kids, she?óÔé¼Ôäód tell them about these adventurous times. She?óÔé¼Ôäód tell them about her friends and how brave and kind she thought they all were.

Unfortunately, now that they were all adults and living their different lives, it was hard to keep in touch. Luna put in an effort to write regularly and, when she was in Britain, she tried to meet with them. They were important to her and always in her heart. When she was somewhere out in the wilderness, all alone in her tent, the young witch often thought about them and wondered what they were up to right that moment.

She apparated to Hogsmeade station about an hour before she was supposed to meet Neville at the Three Broomsticks and walked down the Hogsmeade Main Road, looking at all the shops and greeting some familiar faces. She could remember quite well how it had been when she had first been allowed to visit Hogsmeade. The village had felt big, bustling and bodacious then. Now it seemed so much smaller and quieter.

After entering the Three Broomsticks, Luna had a little chat with Madame Rosmerta before she sat down at one of the tables. She had already bought two butterbeers, one for herself and one for Neville. Her eyes went off focus as she gazed out of the dirty window. Absently she toyed with her butterbeer cork necklace which she still wore frequently. She was wearing a simple dark blue dress with a bronze eagle on it, a clear sign of reminiscence.

When the door swung open again and Neville stepped in, Luna snapped out of her reverie and offered her friend a dreamy smile. ?óÔé¼?ôHello Neville,?óÔé¼?Ø she said quietly, ?óÔé¼?ôI?óÔé¼Ôäóm glad you could make the time to meet me.?óÔé¼?Ø
