    • General Information
I'm sure we're taller in another dimension
You say we're small and not worth the mention

    • Full name: Florian Breaux
    • Blood status: Muggleborn
    • Nationality: French-Italian
    • Date of birth: December 17th
    • Age: 15
    • Place of birth: Lyon, France
    • Languages: French, Italian, English
    • Member group: Beauxbatons Student

    • Appearance
You're tired of movin', your body's achin'
We could vacay, there's places to go

    • Appearance: The first thing you see are a pair of hazel-colored hues staring right back at you wide with excitement --or squinted with disgust; really, it can go either way with him. Resting atop of them are a set of thick and trimmed eyebrows beneath a smooth forehead. His nose curves out from beneath, round but appropriately sized for his face, almost as if sculpted to perfection. The lips sitting under it are full and plump as well and they lead to a strong jawline with slightly sunken cheeks and risen cheekbones. His hair sprouts out from above, curls and kinks spread throughout while being tapered off at the sides to give a somewhat streamlined look with a curly mohawk.

His ears are pierced. Two in the left lobe and one in the right. Glancing down, his nails were typically painted and well manicured with colors that alternated back and forth between fingers. It wouldn't be unusual for a ring or two to be spotted coiled around his fingers. Taking a step back...or maybe two, one would see that Florian was actually quite tall --a solid two to three inches over most boys his age ( standing a little over 5'9 ) and he sported a frame to fill out the extra length too! One could compare him to a trained gymnast in terms of physique.

Florian's style changes with the season, but generally he stuck to more bold color choices. Reds, blues, purples, greens and oranges of all shades could be seen on any given day really. This isn't to say that he didn't enjoy blacks or browns either, it just depended on the outfit he wanted to wear. His choice of sizing went from baggy to proper-fits but never anything too tight! Those he found to be annoying.

    • Personality
Clearly this isn't all that there is
      Can't take what's been given

    • Personality:
Bold, brash and unapologetic! Florian has a very outgoing and somewhat over-the-top personality. He's dramatic and flashy in every sense of the word, using extended pauses in the middle of regular speech, strutting through every room he enters as if its occupants should be completely enamored with him and he's overly excited! That being said, the Breaux is also loving and kind; his words may come off a little harsh but most of his actions and intentions mean well. When he speaks it's typically in a condescending tone because Florian truly believes that he is something special, almost as if he were chosen to be where he is now.

There's a superiority complex. Being Muggleborn and surrounded by the regular and mundane for most of his life then being suddenly thrust into the wizarding world made him want to abandon that previous existence altogether. His parents noticed the magical signs he showed early on and stifled any potential he could've had in regards to that and anything artistic. They were practical, hardworking people so when their son mostly showed interest in the arts and music they were quick to shut it down and offer 'safer' professions and interests for him to dabble in. Now in his fourth year and Beauxbatons he smugly looks down at the Muggles he once coexisted with, hardly ever visiting his parents and choosing to spend most of his time in the wizarding world.

           Likes:
                    He loves himself.
Florian likes to be the center of attention, to be worshipped and to be adored by others. It's hard to pinpoint exactly where this came from; it's not as if he goes out to seek the validation of his peers --he doesn't hold their opinions that highly...but perhaps he feels as if it's a natural thing to occur. He's tall, handsome, athletic and fairly good at magic so why wouldn't they praise him? Compliments will take you to the moon and back with him. Anyone that falls into the regime he's set will almost immediately have his love and respect, while the naysayers are usually disregarded.

'You're clearly stupid, why would I listen to you?'

                    He loves gemstones.
What else could be as flashy as he? Even as a child he's been obsessed with every sort of precious stone. From shimmering sapphires to exquisite emeralds and radiant rubies Florian felt as if he had to collect them all! Of course his parents wouldn't just carelessly purchase these things for him, so while the cheap, plastic versions sufficed...they just didn't have that same glimmer as the real deal. Once he learned about transfiguration at Beauxbatons the class immediately snatched his attention; the ability to turn something else into a diamond? It's his best class.

'You want one of my gems? Beat it! I don't even know who you are.'

                    He loves the arts.
Creativity expressed through various forms of media, no matter what it is, catches his attention. Florian prefers for you to be yourself and to express your thoughts openly and boldly for the world to admire it. Self-doubt and a lack of self confidence, especially when he thinks highly of your work, is a quick way to anger the teen. In regards to his own personal ventures, he loves to write poetry and he recites it to anyone in the vicinity. A bigger passion of his is artistic flying and he hopes to do it one professionally one day. For now, he's content with regular flying classes and observing...but imagine this, he's centerstage with all eyes fixed on him watching his every movement. A DREAM come true.

'You're scared to go up? Sit back and watch my dazzling performance and know...you'll never be this great.'

           Dislikes:
                    He hates Moldus.
Hate may be a strong word, but he has a strong dislike for them, mostly because of how his parents were so strict in raising him. He sees them as boring. Once being a part of that world he doesn't think that there's anything left in there for him, people included. There are a select few he appreciates --those that dare to break the boundaries to create something beautiful and everlasting without magic, they've earned his respect. They've seen beyond the veil of the mundane and ascended.

'What would I go back there for? I can light my kettle with a snap of a finger, I can fly to clear my mind --I can do anything. Back there...I have to blend in and hide who I am. Never.'

                    He hates messes.
It's fine to have paint splattered everywhere or musical sheets tossed about in the pursuit of genius. What he CAN'T STAND however is people being unnecessarily nasty, especially for no reason. Snacks, food, clothes and potion ingredients strewn about your room? For days or weeks on end? For nothing? Florian would be quick to scold you and force you to clean and may even lend a helping hand just for it to be dealt with.

'Have some PRIDE man! We're a dignified house not some magical pig sty!'

           Fears:
                    He's afraid of losing himself.
To lose his powers. To no longer be magical. To no longer attend Beauxbatons and be a part of the wizarding world. To return home to his parents and follow in their footsteps. To become drab and boring. To indulge in the mundane. To not be who he wants himself to be.

                                                                                                                                                        '...I can't.'

    • Personal History
But we're so okay here, we're doing fine
      Primal and naked

    • Parents:
Mother: Cosette Abadie, 38, Muggle, Accountant
Father: Rafael Breaux, 40, Muggle, Lawyer
    • History:
           Before Florian:
For as meticulous and cautious as his parents were with everything else, one careless night led to Florian's birth. Funny enough, they were both stressed out from their new jobs --fresh-faced from college and university and completely drained. Maybe that's what they found in common though. The duo laughed away at the local bar on a friday night. One drink after the next lead from one thing to another and eventually Rafael woke up in Cosette's apartment. It'd been some time before they found out that she was pregnant, but during that period they really got to know one another and found genuine love!

           Childhood:
Florian was brought up in a somewhat strict household, or at least when it came to hobbies and interests outside of school. With his parents both having been trained in fields dealing with numbers and logic it was hard for them not to push those same values onto their child. Due to this he often found himself at the top or near the top of his class in most subjects...which was fine, but he wanted to do some much more. Often he expressed dreams of wanting to be a painter or singer...an artist or an athlete and the only one of the bunch they approved of was the latter; at least that way he had an after-school activity to stay in shape. One couldn't imagine their surprise when he displayed his first sign of magic around the age of seven.

He'd been sketching in a notebook, swirling crayons around in circles well past his bedtime. Though he had no idea what he was doing to the paper, he felt as if he were reaching a breakthrough of sorts --as if he was about to perfect the best doodle that's ever been doodled...and then, tragedy struck! His father suddenly barged into the room and caught the young boy off guard. It was almost three hours past his bed time on a school night and Florian was notorious for sleeping in! Frustrated, the man grabbed the book and yanked it away with the younger Breaux's crayon still lingering on the page and marred his piece. He snapped. Florian burst into a fit of tears and yelled aloud nearly waking his mother in the process. The book wiggled in his father's hand before flickering free and shooting back towards the kid. It was a moment that made Rafael pause and ponder what had happened.

Occasionally things like that would happen. Whenever he was extremely upset or stressed something would go wrong and it just left them baffled. As it seemed, things were cleared up once he was eleven and members of the Ministry of Magic appeared and explained to the Breaux family that the boy had potential to be a wizard and explained to them what Beauxbatons was.

           First year:
It was arguably one of the most important years in Florian's life; it was the year he was introduced to the wizarding world! The first thing to really snatch his attention was the carriage that came to collect him once his parents had driven to one of the stations --it was pulled by winged horses! Immediately his eyes lit up and he darted towards the thing dragging his luggage behind. The ride was long, but overall smooth and he happily chatted away with the other occupants while sipping on fruit juices. Once landed, they were lined up closer towards the back and one by one were sorted into their respective houses. When it was Florian's turn the wand spewed pink stars when he asked to be sorted, solidifying him as a member of Papillonlisse! Most of this year was spent trying to adjust to the wizarding world. He got a wand, learned how to cast spells and charms and to mix potions and even manipulate matter in the form of transfiguration.

           Second year:
This was a year of self discovery for Florian. Firstly, his hair started to grow with him only really tapering the sides when needed at the barber; having long, unruly hair was something his parents never would've approved of but now that he's mostly unsupervised and no longer in private school he could go for it! Secondly, he delved deeper into the arts now that he had more of a grasp on magic...and he enjoyed it! Everything he's ever wanted to do. Painting, dancing, drawing, writing --you name it! He didn't excel in all of these areas, but he was having fun and that's what mattered.

           Third year:
This was the year he truly became himself. The Breaux felt comfortable in his own skin, doing as he pleased and discovering more and more about his likes, dislikes and what he wanted out of life! He was always a little cocky, but that developed into a strong sense of pride within him. He experimented with various forms of fashion and styles. Found an appreciation for precious gems and even dedicated a small portion of time each day into studying transfiguration to one day learn to make diamonds and such from nothing. His poetry got better and he just felt confident around his fellow students --especially as his friend-group grew! It was also this year that he found something that he was really interested in: Artistic Flying. It combined his natural athleticism with the magic he's grown so fond of into one activity and he couldn't be happier with this discovery! Since then, it was common to find him watching junior trainers flying out in the fields and going over routines...simply waiting for his chance. He became more and more taken in with the wizarding world, and as a result started to feel some disdain towards the more mundane realm of moldus. A group of people with no magical ability whatsoever that could hardly reach the true potential of human beings. He scoffed at them! Of course he still loved his parents and what few friends he had made back there, but he wanted next to nothing when it came to dealing with that half of the world.

           Fourth Year:
By far one of the more interesting ones at Beauxbatons! Giant spiders the size of dogs mysteriously showed up along with the abduction of a girl a year beneath him. It made him...skeptical and a little more aware of the dangers of a world filled with magic. At one point he and a group of friends encountered one of said spiders but with a team effort it was dispatched and burned! Still, the problem was rampant and eventually they were all moved to Manoir Vertneuf, or more of a castle really, away from school grounds for safety.

      And we're free to roam

With Beauxbatons starting the arts initiative recently the Breaux took this time to really focus on and refine his craft of poetry (and other arts forms). It wasn't as flashy as Artistic Flying or as visually stimulating as say...a painting, but, just in this instance there's beauty in subtlety. It went against his nature. Florian was a passionate and extroverted teen, one that walked a certain path unashamedly and appreciated everything flashy and flamboyant. It was poetry that reigned him in --that made him a more introspective person and that helped him to appreciate other 'understated' forms of art.

Holed into a crowded room with several others of various houses, things could get rather busy during peak hours of the evening after classes. A breath was pulled in.

      "QUIET!"
Their room was immediately silenced. Could he have waited until late at night do work on his craft? Yes. Did he want to? No; beauty sleep was important. One by one the others left the Breaux to his own devices and with that newfound, peaceful state of mind he got to work. Typically he used an enchanted quill to write down his notes for class or to jot down quick phrases, but when he wanted to take things seriously he preferred to use a standard pencil. There was just something about the sound of lead striking parchment that was appealing to his ears.

The wooden tool twirled idly between fingers as thoughts glided past one another in his mind. Maybe it was the challenge of putting the right words together that excited him...or perhaps how others would react to it upon their first hearing; how he loved to hear their praises sung. Or maybe it was because at the end of the day, he'd be the only one to truly understand the message behind what he wrote. It'd be the only time he cherished that feeling of isolation -of being the only one in the know-.

      A stroke is made.
             Then another.
One by one characters found themselves on the sheet before him, all the while his consciousness felt as if it were fading. Muffled sounds from the outside were drowned out and his peripheral vision shifted to black. In that moment there was only his being, the pencil and the paper. Slick sounds composed by each strike flowed into one another and motivated him to create more.

      A state of flow.

He wrote and wrote. "Good, good..." he mumbled, scribbling his innermost thoughts and feelings onto the sheet. The fluidity afforded to him by the zone felt amazing. "This is going to be great..." Metaphors and references came to him with ease and each stanza constructed felt like their own self-contained story of perfection.

      The devil grinned.

He didn't check the time before he began, but by the time he was finished the evening sun had set and people were starting to return to their dorms. "Ohahaha!" A rush of excitement moved through him! The feeling of knowing that you created something great was never something he'd see himself growing out of. His heart thumped with the fervor of youth and his eyes shone with renewed passion. Coincidently, his dormmates returned as he kicked his feet up. Still fueled by the adrenaline rush from before he quickly scooted away from his desk and an arm wrapped snugly around the necks of the two teens! Yikes.

"Perfect timing! You two are going to enjoy this, hahaha!"
