It had been quiet afternoon in the library, or well mostly quiet except for a couple of Gryffindor girls who were giggling and gossiping over the latest Witch Weekly edition. Something about Rupert Hartwood and his ideal type. Jae wanted to charm a very large medical studies book and whack them in the head with it, give them something better to focus on, but he had just sighed, put up a silencing barrier charm so he couldn't hear them and refocused on his own medical studies book he was currently delving into. For fun. He had read a column in the Daily Prophet about the latest advancements in the mediwizardry field and it had kicked off this latest obsession, leaving him scouring through books and books in the library instead of doing actual homework. He could always catch up on that later, or just bug Isaac until he gave him his notes. Jae knew his Slytherin friend would have everything already done by now anyway.
He was just about to dive into a new chapter on the latest findings of vaccinations for dragon pox when he noticed a group of Slytherins surrounding another student. And those Slytherins just happened to be some of Isaac's gang that were often found in detention with him. What a rubbish group of people, Jae thought as his eyes lingered, noting the body language as his silencing charm stopped him from hearing exactly what they were saying. It didn't seem like they were just paling around though. And Jae knew that whenever Shauna and her boy toy Aaron were smiling like that, nothing good came from it.
But nope. It wasn't his business. He started reading his book again, his eyes darting from side to side as he read quickly, one of his legs crossed over his knee. But he couldn't help but glance over again as Duncan, the tall dumbass, swiped one of the other student's books off the table and sent it flying away, guffawing like it was the funniest thing he'd ever done. Jae was sure he was a few gobstones short of a full collection.
He clenched his jaw and waved his wand, the silencing charm disappearing in a second as he heard what was going on at the other table.
