Phillip could sense there was more going on in Billie's thoughts than she was telling him. He could see how anxious she was; it was written all over her face. The anxiety, and the exhaustion, and the worry. It made him nervous but also put him into overdrive. Phillip knew she wanted to become a healer after Hogwarts, but 'after Hogwarts' had always sounded so far away for Billie. Phillip was the one graduating, she still had two and a half terms to go, but that wasn't how it worked in the wizarding world. If she wanted to be prepared and to get into the best program, she had to start now, Phillip missed his chances, and he'd paid for that for the rest of his life. He didn't understand the pressure she felt because he had ignored them during his fifth year. He'd done well enough, but that was based on luck and natural ability, not because he had a plan.
"I know," Phillip didn't really understand all of the things that were pulling at her. He couldn't, and not just because she wasn't explaining them fully, but because he didn't put as much stock into things as she did. Social expectations were nonexistent for the wizard. Other than Billie, he had very few friends, and the ones he somehow managed to keep, like Winifred and Eleanora, had grown accustomed to his lack of social etiquette a long time ago. On top of everything, Billie was also a perfect, and a mentor, and who knew how many other extracurriculars she was padding her Dily's application with. It was too much for anyone to deal with, but Phillip didn't know if there was anything he could do to help. He couldn't take any of those things on for her, and he had learned that trying to convince her to drop something wasn't going to work.
With a sigh, Phillip spoke after a moment, "As much as I hate platitudes, this one happens to be true; if anyone can do all of that, Billie, it's you," She was a gifted witch with a beautiful mind and more emotional intelligence than Phillip could ever understand. Billie was dedicated, motivated, and without hubris. And as rare as it was, Phillip had absolute faith in her.
