Indiana laughed and flashed her a grin “Iiiiif I was going to try and impress you, I wouldn’t choose astronomy” he told her. It was useful from time to time but not like his favorite classes, which were far more practical in his opinion. The wizard nodded in agreement “Same. Ilvermorny has other classes that are way more interesting that Astronomy. Like oath magic, and shadow magic.” As he spoke Indy let his fingers trail lightly over her arm, casually enjoying the feel of her skin under his fingertips and took a drink from his bottle of beer.

When he had finished speaking, the wizard shifted and pulled his wand out of his pocket, glancing over in Freya’s direction, excitement clear on his face. With a quick flick of his wrist and a muttered incantation, Indiana had a small trio of shadow figures running and dancing out from the darkness around them. He shot Freya a wink and continued “It’s got more practical applications than that, but for the sake of impressing you, I figured this was pretty cute” He admitted boldly. The wizard took a drink from the bottle of Ogden’s and offered it to Freya, waiting to gauge her reaction.

Charms was not his worst or best subject and there was no arguing that it was useful in more than one day to day task. Indiana banished the small shadow figures with another wave of his wand and leaned back against the wall behind them, turning his head to watch her more intently as the Odgen’s amplified his buzz “what gave it away?” he said, teasing her “was it the hat?” it was probably more his boots and jeans, but he wanted to make her laugh, and then maybe kiss her again. He grinned at her lazily “I mean, I think you’re plenty charming” he quipped as he giggled, his awareness of the bad pun written on his face, but he also wasn’t sorry.

He shifted then, the arm closest to Freya sliding across her shoulders as he leaned into and across her as he reached for the bottle of Ogden’s on her opposite side “Sorry” he murmured habitually. He’d managed to grab the bottle with his free hand, and was about to sit back, but just as he was half way back to his spot Indiana had glanced to his left and his eyes landed on Freya’s lips. It’d been what felt like an eternity since he’d kissed her, and rather than continuing to move out of her personal space Indiana pressed his lips to hers. It was a soft kiss at first that became more insistent, as his far hand left the bottle of Whiskey to cup her cheek and slide into her hair. He really had wanted to talk to her, but kissing her seemed like the better idea at the moment.

Personally, Freya thought Astronomy was pretty romantic. A hot guy pointing out constellations she would forget approximately ten seconds after he’d told her? Amazing. She listened as he listed a couple of types of magic she’d never heard of, though. Oath magic? Like the unbreakable vow, she wondered?

Freya straightened a little as he pulled out his wand, her eyebrows raised as she waited for him to do whatever he was going to do. Something to impress her, he’d said. “Woah,” she said, leaning into him a little as the shadowy forms made her jump. She watched as they danced, her eyes wide. “Cute?” she repeated, wondering what possible practical applications there were for a type of magic like that. “More like freaky,” Freya teased, taking the bottle from him. She made sure to give him a little shoulder bump, though, to show him that she wasn’t like, actually weirded out or anything.

The blonde tilted her head back and took a couple of gulps of the firewhiskey he’d summoned. It was a bit burny, but she’d already had a few drinks so it wasn’t too bad. She replaced the lid and put the bottle down beside her, wiping her lips with the back of one had and pulling a face. Freya drank beer and did shots these days, but she had always had a sweet tooth and a park of her suspected that she’d always prefer sweeter drinks. She had a sip of her cider to chase the whiskey.

“Oh yeah, nothing says ‘I love animals’ like a baseball cap,” Freya agreed mock-seriously before laughing a bit. Cheekily, she reached up and took his hat from his head. “Or, y’know, Cal said you guys were studying together,” she added, putting his hat on her head, backwards like he'd been wearing it. It sat a bit funny on her hair, but she grinned at him anyway. What Callum had refrained from doing, for some unfathomable reason, was tell everyone (her) how hot his American friend was. Seemed like a top ten betrayal if you asked Freya.

Freya laughed when he did, feeling a little more relaxed, finding him a little funnier than she might have if she were sober. “Oh, no worries…” she said, intending to move back a bit if he needed her to get out of the way, but trailing off as they were suddenly face to face, his eyes on her lips. She smiled, knowing what was coming, but melted like butter when he kissed her. It was slow at first, but heated up pretty quickly. It was not lost on Freya that they were alone out here, with just the faint sounds of the party pulsing in the background.

It was a bit awkward, the way they were sitting, but she didn't let it inhibit things too much. She turned her body to face him better, and slid a hand onto his chest, her other hand flat on the concrete for balance. Her legs touched his as she kissed him back, matching his ardour. Okaaaayyy, she thought distantly. So she'd sort of stopped with the whole drunk hooking-up-with-strangers-thing after last time – nearly a year ago – when she'd felt kind of bad about herself after, but right now she couldn't help but consider it. Indy was flirty and sweet. And hot, which was an important fact to take into consideration. Plus he seemed like he was into her, and he wasn't a good friend who she might mess everything up with if things went that way – another important thing to consider.

Not that there was much space for thinking about Danny right now.

Freya slid her hand up his chest, her hand coming to rest just so she could feel his collarbone under her fingertips. His hand was in her hair, and it felt too good. Very distracting. Given how distracted she was – and the alcohol – the blonde didn't notice that someone had rudely opened the window from the inside and was interrupting until Indy pulled back a bit. She pulled back too, a little out of breath, her lips redder, feeling a bit confused until she glanced over her shoulder just in time to see a young man tumble through the window, another couple of guys – clearly drunk – just behind him. "Oh," she said, blinking, pulling her hand back from his chest. She reached for the bottle instead, giving Indy a small smile before she looked back at the guys, who'd only just spotted them.

"Oh, hey Freddy," Freya said, rolling her eyes at the looks they were getting, but smiling too because she wasn't really embarrassed. "Freddy," She said to Indy, jerking her head in the redhead's direction before taking another swig from the bottle.

Indiana didn’t have much thought capacity at the moment, but it didn’t matter all that much since the only thing that was registering was how good he felt right then. Sure the angle was awkward, and he was pretty sure they were going to have to move or strain their necks, but he also didn’t care about himself as much as he wanted to make sure Freya was comfortable. But just about the time he was going to pull back to ask if she was okay, he heard the window above them opening anyway.

He was nonplussed when he felt her hand leave his chest, the buzz was making the endorphins last a little longer, but it wasn’t the same as actually kissing. He frowned minutely, but not at Freya, and not even at the boys who had come tumbling through the window – just at the loss of the feeling. The frown was gone quicker than it had come and Indy felt a goofy grin spreading across his face. His hand had dropped from Freya’s hair, but he still had a hand resting casually against her side where he’d been holding her against him.

He wasn’t worried about what the other boys were thinking – because in the end it was his and Freya’s business and he was too buzzed to really care about much at the moment. But when Freya jerked her head in the direction of the tall redhead and said hello, Indy couldn’t stop the laugh that bubbled up and out of his chest. That was Freddy – Freya had been right, the kid was tall. He blinked in the other wizard’s direction and then raised a hand in greeting “Hi – killer party.” Even though the wizard (or his parents) technically owned the home, and therefore had a say over the rooftop Indy was in in no real rush to leave, at least not on their account alone. Instead he gently took the bottle back from Freya, took a drink and waited to see what the other boys who were arguably drunker than either of them would do.

When it became clear though that waiting them out would take the better half of a millennia, the brunette snuck a glance in Freya’s direction, and when they made eye contact the boy started laughing again. He reached down and squeezed her hand, resisting the urge to kiss her in case it made her uncomfortable with Freddy and co there. Instead Indy had a mildy bad idea. He stood and offered a hand to Freya and shot her a mischievous look as he handed her the bottle of fire whiskey and pulled out his wand. With a quick flick of his wand, the wizard created a safety barrier along the edge of the roof and then turned his attention to pulling together a cloud of shadow and stepped into it before holding his hand out to Freya for her to join him “We’re just going back through the window, I just wanted to see what they’d do.” He told her, laughing a little.

They stood there watching the confusion of the other kids for a moment before Indy walked them and the cloud over to the window and after they had both made it through the window, the wizard let it dissipate. He grinned at Freya and leaned into kiss her as he twined his fingers with hers, clearly in no rush “You we’re right about Freddy” he told her smiling then added “Do you want to go back downstairs, or do you want to go for a walk or something? We’ve still go the bottle.” He told her as he pointed to the bottle in her hand and waited.

Freya’s focus was mostly on the hand that lingered on her side. She gave Freddy and the guys a well-natured smile, but a part of her was disappointed that they’d materialised at such an inopportune moment. When Indy laughed, Freya couldn’t help but laugh too, feeling a bit like a teen who’d been caught out after curfew at Hogwarts. As she got to her feet, Freya felt the alcohol in a way that she really hadn’t before; she was buzzing, and a little unsteady. It just made her smile a bit more. She brushed dust off her denim shorts and pushed her hair back from her face.

“I… what?” Freya was a bit confused as Indy pulled her into a shadowy form that he seemed to have collected for some reason? To see what the boys would do? Freya could see her own confusion echoed in their faces and she had to laugh at that too. Indy was a bit of a show off, she thought as she climbed back through the window, the action taking a little more concentration than it otherwise would have. She didn’t mind.

Once they were inside, he kissed her again, and Freya wondered for the millionth time where this was going. Would he just be the Hot American Guy she made out with at a party once, or would they end up somewhere together at the end of the night? She felt impatient to find out, and then felt a little tug of shame at the feeling, then tried to banish that response as she slid her free hand onto his waist, her pinky brushing along the top of his jeans. When he pulled back, she was smiling, her expression not at all betraying the fact that she really just wanted him to kiss her again.

She felt her tummy flutter a bit when he spoke; he’d suggested leaving the party. With her. Which meant that he really was having a good time hanging out (with her), to the point where he’d be okay to ditch it (with her). “Yeah,” Freya said, her answer a bit vague. “Walk sounds good, I mean,” she added quickly, a bit embarrassed as she realised that he’d offered a couple of options there and that she hadn’t answered properly the first time. She waited for him to take the lead before they made their way down a level, then headed for the front door.

A sensible part of her wondered if she should tell her friends that she was going somewhere, but the thought was gone as soon as it'd come. In no time at all, they were outside again, but on a quiet suburban street this time. It was even quieter out here, and she could hear a very faint ringing in her ears from being on the dance floor earlier. The blonde shot Indy a smile. Their hands were still intertwined. "Soooo...." Freya started, after a moment of silence. "Are you a nachos or pizza kind of person?" she asked, giving him a look like it was a serious question.
