Oh good grief! RPing helps me in the real world? It DOESN'T! Its a magnificent distraction, to the extent that I'll be at work and sneaking my phone out of my pocket to answer PMs from members, or scribbling notes on scraps of paper for the next post I need to write, or being annoyed because of something that's happened on here and not being able to discuss it with anyone at work because it doesn't actually EXIST!
Alright, lets find some positives.
When I joined MH four years ago I was technologically incompetent. I was so bad that I couldn't understand the tech guide of the time, which explained BBC. I had absolutely no clue even how to put up a sig or av (nor, indeed, did I know what sigs were!) and I know that I was here for a good six months before I realised that Julie didn't organise them for everyone else! (she could probably have given me a dead fish for a sig during that time and I would have calmly accepted it, for I had no clue how to change it!)
Now - well, I can't actually *make* sigs unless you count my spam ones, but I have a vague understanding of coding, I can make a table, run a Quidditch match, turn negatives into positives in a BIG way...as for what it takes to keep the site up and running though, you'll need to ask Julie or Inga. We're all good at different things, and my forte is definitely NOT the REAL behind the scenes stuff! Sorting, creating events, welcoming new members and helping them to get sheets up to standard if they aren't quite there yet are the things you guys think of as keeping the site running.
I could ramble on a lot more but I have to go cook dinner now. I'm fairly confused as to why your English professor thinks this would be a good thing to write an essay on (and I have no clue how division and classification can relate to MH!) but if you want to ask anything specific, feel free!
