Mentioning Houses Before Being Sorted?
« on: January 10, 2013, 05:09:47 PM »
I've run into a bit of a snag while writing up Pax's background. She's supposed to be in her 4th year, and I'm guessing, that technically since she's unsorted (despite my feeling that she's a Ravenclaw) I should refrain from bringing up the sorting ceremony and such while writing up the background? How exactly does that all work?

You can approach the history the same as if you were mentioning what house she will be in. Usually what I do is write out the history mentioning the house and then I go back and omit the house and just say like "she was sorted into the house best fit for her" and refer to any possible friends/enemies as "a year mate" or "fellow student." If you manage to do that, you can always resubmit the sheet after she's sorted with her house listed in there.

Okay, thanks! I'll try that then.
