Biting down slightly on her nail as she recrossed her legs, Julia let out a short sigh. She hated waiting. She hated sitting around doing nothing but mindlessly waiting on someone else to show up. Her patience was thin to begin with and as she sat on a park bench in London's Hyde Park, the sun shining on her blonde hair, the gentle breeze flowing, the birds chirping, Julia absently thought that she was going to die right on the bench of sheer boredom. At this point she wasn't even sure if she was early, if the person she was meeting was late or if there was a miscommunication in time. All the German girl knew was that she was here, contemplating all the things that were better than waiting--alcohol...music...dogs...being stabbed in the stomach, etc. She had been sitting by herself, bored out of her mind for a whole seven minutes.

Lighting a cigarette, Julia tugged on her fitted grey t-shirt, while simultaneously, adjusting her purse to make sure it didn't fall off the bench. Perhaps she was being overly cautions, but Julia was nervous that any wrong move she'd make would make the bag fall. Leon had informed her that the contents of the medium sized box in her purse were extremely fragile. Julia couldn't be sure if he was just saying that to turn her otherwise careless behavior into slight paranoid caution. Of course, he didn't expressly tell her what the box held. Leon never informed Julia what exactly she was transporting and her strong curiosity had often made her try to get information out of the people she was delivering to, but never to much avail.

Patting her bag softly, Julia looked up and around the mostly empty pathways and settled on a dark haired man who seemed to be walking toward her. Julia sat up a little straighter, before taking another drag of her cigarette and looking off. She didn't want to make their meeting look obvious or, in the worse case, have a random stranger ask her why she was looking at them. The man she was supposed to meet was described to her in some detail by Leon, but Julia had learned that it was always better to be approached rather than do the approaching, in case she was wrong. Looking out of the corner of her eye so very slightly, Julia could see the man still coming toward her. She exhaled her cigarette one last time, before extinguishing it in the butt tower next to her. Casually, she pulled the strap of her bag just a little tighter to her in case this went bad and she needed to make a quick exit.

In a short moment, the man was next to her, asking her name. Julia focused her bright blue eyes to him as if seeing him for the first time. "Yes," she asked with an arched eyebrow curiously. Her pale face looked puzzle as she faced him, as if she hadn't been expecting to meet anyone along the way. She did a quick once over of the tall man and her lips turned into a mischievous smirk. For all the times that Leon had sent her on deliveries, never had the person she was supposed to meet looked quite so good. There were a few women who were certainly on the better end of the rating, but most of the men were older and always looked like they spent too much time in the dark. Julia leaned back into the bench slightly, biting down on her lower lip as she took the man in fully. Maybe this would be one time that she would be able to get some information about the things she delivered.

"Is there something I can help you with," she said, red lips still smirking as the key question left her lips. If this man was the man she was supposed to be delivering to, he would have a specific response for the young blonde, a designated passcode. Julia silently prayed this was the right man as he would make waiting for 9 full minutes worth it.

It was rare that Valerian picked up deliveries on his own. His business was big enough that he had people to do that for him. Aside from that, it was best he kept his nose clean, as said nose very regularly graced articles and covers in magazines, along with the rest of his face. It was a delicate balance, being the face of a prominent matchmaking company that dealt with very finicky clients, as well as the head of his own black market liaison company. True, anyone who knew his family would not be surprised to hear he had his fingers in some very illegal crime pies, but he should at least put in the effort to pretend he was a good man of society.

But today had been different. In the near decade since the start of his company, Eros and Psyche had bloomed most impressively, growing with it, his darker dealings. He found himself behind a desk more often than not, and some days he yearned to get out and be part of the dealings he so carefully orchestrated. If not just for himself, than to keep his clients on their toes. Boredom was dangerous and Val was growing restless. So he had taken the job of picking up the delivery himself. It would be harmless enough and give him a chance to get out of the office. He stood away from his desk and buttoned up his maroon coat, before leaving his office and heading for Hyde Park.

Despite his best efforts, Val couldn’t keep the amused smirk from dancing across his lips when he caught sight of the lovely creature sitting on the bench, eyeing him just a little more than everyone else. She was young, younger than most girls he dealt with. It was no surprise, as Leon liked to surround himself with pretty, dangerous things. To imagine the girl waiting for him at the end of the walkway was both of those things didn’t seem to be very much of a stretch. He watched as she exhaled a plume of swirling smoke and put out the cigarette she had been nursing. Had she been waiting long?

He made the approach from the side, noticing the bag she held under her arm. It was about the right size, and he knew Leon told his delivery girls to be careful. Perhaps she would not be holding it so close to her person if she knew exactly what she was transporting. He checked the watch on is wrist and made a note of the time. It was still early in the evening, which meant that the sedatives should still be in full effect. Part of him wanted to reach out and tell the girl she best let go of the package in case it woke up a little early, but that was more information than he was really willing to give. Did the girl know what was resting in a chemically-induced slumber just beneath her slender arms. Perhaps she would not be as amused as he was.

He came to her side and cleared his throat gently to get her attention and confirm that he, in fact, was here for her. “Sorry to bother. I just thought I recognized you. We met at Leon’s Christmas party a few months ago, I think? Yes, I believe you were wearing a navy dress, if I recall correctly,” he said casually, placing on hand in his pocket. He surreptitiously looked the little blonde thing up and down, allowing himself to smile once more. It had been a slow day in the office today and he was feeling a little bored. There were worse ways to spend an evening than passing it with one of Leon’s girls. They were always very energetic and full of life, a far cry from some of the women he dealt with on a daily basis. Oh, to be young again. Val envied this girl— what had Leon called her, Julia? That sounded right— for the many years of innocent debauchery and wild fun she had ahead of her. Val’s future would probably be full of more paperwork, family matters, and crime. How boring. He was in the mood to break a few rules and stretch his legs a bit.

He let the whim take root and he spoke again, this time quieter, leaning in as if they were sharing a secret. “Sorry to keep you waiting,” he said in a low voice. “That was terribly rude of me. Are you at all hungry?” he held out his arm, like the gentleman he was, for the younger woman beside him to take if she was feeling the least bit inclined.

Red lips curled into a smile as the man spoke to her. So, this was the man she had been waiting for. Normally the men she delivered to were older or just on the creepier side of things. This man, with his dark hair and contrasting bright blue eyes, was causing a familiar sense of excitement in Julia. He was attractive, she decided immediately, and he filled her taste for liking older men. She cocked her head to the side just slightly, trying to estimate his age--she was assuming late 20s to early 30s. Her smile widened and a mischievous look crossed her face as she noticed him looking her over. Maybe he meant that he found her attractive, which Julia was assuming he already did.

"I've been told navy suits me," Julia replied in a low voice, her devilish smile never leaving her face.  "I can't seem to place you though, but that night's a bit of a blur for me." She wished she were lying. He may have very well been at Leon's Christmas party, but Julia ended up leaving with one of the bartenders from Sirens. Had she seen this man while she were still coherent, her selection for her nighttime friend would have changed. Julia bit down on her lower lip slightly, locking eye contact with the man, before standing up and moving toward him. She moved in close to him, half for wanting to get closer to the man and half for wanted to look inconspicuous to anyone who might be people watching nearby. Reaching into her bag that hung by her hip, she pulled out a small, locked, black box and slipped it into the mans hand swiftly, allowing her finger tips to graze his just slightly. "I believe that's for you," the short blonde whispered to him, maintaining eye contact.

Backing up from him slightly, Julia realized she was almost sad to see the man go. Her job was done, but he looked like someone who could provide Julia with some late night company. Her bright blue eyes quickly looked over the man once more. If he came to Leon's parties she would have to keep herself alert for him. She could be subtle at first, but after a while everyone at Leon's parties would be toasted and she wouldn't have to try to hide her intentions with this man. As she slowly backed further from him, debating between talking to the man longer or not, his next question surprised her. A pale eyebrow arched and Julia studied him cautiously for a moment. She was half wondering if he was able to read minds as he extended his arm toward her. Julia licked her lips and thought him over for a moment, before slowly looping her arm into his. A part of her wanted to spend some time with this man and another part of her wondered if this would be her in to figuring out what was in the box she just handed to him. Leon never told her what she carried and her curiosity usually got the better of her.

"It really was terribly rude," the German girl teased at him, moving in a little closer, a smirk painted on her face. "And I suppose you do owe me for keeping me stranded on this park bench for so long."

She began walking from the way the man came, keeping close to his side all the while. "I don't think I caught your name," she said softly to him. Leon hadn't told her his name, he rarely did and if he gave a name, it was usually an alias. "I'm Julia," the petite teen said to him, unsure if Leon had given her name or not.
