"What a strange little place this is!"
On her way to Hogsmeade, Crux had been expecting the village to remind her much of Chatoeil. It wasn't until she had arrived that the woman realized she had never even been curious enough to look up the British schools' equivalent to her own school's village. She had heard the name in passing once or twice; she remembered it because the name sounded so ugly every time she tried to pronounce it, and any time anyone corrected her, they only made it sound worse. The village seemed a lot more compact than the more familiar one back in France. Unsurprisingly, it reminded her of the couple of times she had been to Diagon Alley for some reason. It must have been the architecture or something. Despite her comment, Crux didn't dislike the village. She was sure it had it's own treasures that she would have to discover. For this, however, she would have to make a return visit, as this was not her goal for the night.
The possibility had been there for awhile. She had been following it for awhile. Every day she had been expecting a sign that it had all fallen through, but as the days crept by, it only seemed more likely. For the first, and quite possibly the last, time in her life, the Northern Lights were going to be visible much farther south than what was typical. It was absolutely marvelous! People died every day without having seen the lights, and tonight she would be doing so in a place that was a rare site for the phenomenon. The fact that there was a wizarding village within the vicinity was even better! And, she had even made a new friend. Well, she was just about to - the girl just ahead of her just didn't know it yet.
Truth be told, she was rather excited that the village was so full of people; this meant that not many people would be taking up what she would imagine would be limited available camping space surrounding the village. She was almost certain none of it would be perfect, but she could make it work. She had not really been sure where she was going and had set off in the first direction that seemed like a good choice. Just ahead of her was another girl with a similarly full backpack full of what she was sure to be camping supplies. She was probably looking for a better spot to look at the lights too wasn't she?
Her own pace quickened; it hadn't occurred to her that the other witch might want to be on her own. Crux had been living with anywhere for four to six people for several months now. Her concept of personal space and alone time, which were questionable to begin with, were dwindling. Once she caught up with the girl, she matched her pace, walking beside her as though they were intended to be there together. "Isn't this amazing? How cool is this! The weather is absolutely beautiful. I'm Crux by the way!" She extended her hand, but a walking handshake seemed kind of awkward, so she just grinned at her new companion instead. "I almost went to Iceland once to see them, but it's so cold there! I need to build up to it. Maybe one day. Maybe this is my start." As she talked about it, she started bouncing with each step, her excitement not willing to contain itself. "Do you know where you're going? Are there any decent spots to set up a tent around here? I brought sandwiches!
