[carpathian mountains] got to run to keep from hiding. [murphy]

The day was going like any other in the last week, Nessa got up, got ready, went to work, silently cursed at stupid customers, and went home when the sun started to set. As she walked back toward her small flat she paid no mind to the clouds in the sky and pushed through the crowded streets. She had a few projects in mind that she was going to work on tonight, things that she had been putting off, but before she reached the steps of her home her plans were forced to change. Draped around her neck was a thick silver chain with an amount of rings that had grown obnoxious in the past few years hanging from it. Each ring on the chain was directly connected to another just like it which was worn by someone Nessa thought was important enough. She felt the chain start to vibrate, signalling that one of the rings was reacting to something, and she quickly scrambled to figure out which one. Even though the chain was full each ring was a specific design so they were easy enough to differentiate. As her fingers cycled through the rings she felt a bit of relief wash over here when it wasn't any of her siblings or Etain but when she reached the ring that had turned red the moment of relief was quickly gone: it was Murphy's ring. Her cousin could more than take take of himself, really she had only given him the ring as a precaution and never before had it gone past green. He was in a dangerous line of work and she knew he was prepared for it but in that moment she couldn't just wait to see if it would return to normal.

Quickly she ducked into a deserted alley and behind a building where she wouldn't been seen apparating and held on tight to his ring. She called upon the magic she had enchanted the ring with and felt her body twisting through space uncomfortably. The world flashed before her, fog, trees, mountains, and then she fell hard onto a rocky surface right into the middle of a fire fight. Curses were flying across the landscape and it was difficult to tell where they were all coming from. The sky was darker than in Cork, but not by much maybe a few hours. "Murphy!?" She called out, knowing the risk she was taking calling to him in the middle of a fight. It was a calculated risk, she couldn't help him without finding him and she couldn't find him without giving away her own location. She heard rustling in the trees beside her and turned quickly to see if it was him. One hand gripping her wand defensively and the other clutching his still glowing ring. The noises in the trees became louder and she could here distinct footprints moving toward her. Whether it was him or not she needed to protect herself. In a matter of seconds her wand was waving in a hasty attempt to ward herself but unfortunately she was too late. Before she knew what was happening a rogue spell hit her with enough force to throw her to the ground. Falling with about as much grace as an elephant her head crashed into the edge of a smooth rock, knocking her out cold. A curtain of silky black hair fell across her face as blood began to ooze out of the fresh wound on her forehead just above her eyebrow. Around her spells continued to fly. Bright flashes of color illuminated the foggy night sky of the Carpathian mountains for a few more minutes before loud cracks rang out. The unseen enemies apparated out in a hurry as the howls of wolves filled the silence they left behind.

Little did she know that she had been transported to a remote location in Romania, smack dab in the middle of no where. The southern Carpathian Mountains stretched on for miles and were not exactly known to be hospitable. The mountain range and its glacial lakes were part of the largest unfragmented forests in Europe. There were no towns or villages within walking distance of where the cousins were. There were however plenty of horrifying ways one could find death out here including the largest populations of wolves and bears in Romania, not to mention the legendary vampire population.
