The dome was finally down, she was allowed to leave the school. Even though she knew she should have been relieved, she just didn't feel it. The school was behind her, Jane and Ryan were taking her back to their apartment. She wouldn't have to spend time with her mother, which she supposed was a good thing. As she laid on the couch, her eyes lingering on the ceiling and a soft sound of humming escaped her lips. Her finger twirled around her hair and she let out a soft sigh. The monsters at the school didn't phase Kelly, she had seen worse come from human beings. And the dome, well it was just like being locked in the trunks for hours when Alvin felt like "having fun" with her. None of it mattered and the fact that they sent them home for a month, well it all seemed a little silly.
She sat up quickly when she heard the click of the door. Her hands grabbed the nearest book and she flipped it open quickly. It had been hard to enjoy such things while she had been in school, so she hadn't really done a lot of reading. Truth be told, she was starting to believe that fantasy was for children and it might be time for her to grow up.
