New Character Need Help

First off do I need to fill out the Rich/Influential form if the status in on the Muggle side of the family my characters father is a likely going to be a successful criminal boss likely a mob man who would have money and influence in the London criminal underworld, and well converts Muggle money at the goblin bank for her allowance and is getting magic might make him through his "baby girl" a very serious player until its explained she can't help him. Later on likely will have to have a good talking to by the Headmistress or someone on the faculty, who have no clue the owner of a nightclub is a serious criminal in his world. 

Second her mom is a Squib and so should I add to her family her grandparents who would likely be Pure Bloods it would be a good touch I think. Her mom will be a Gambler with some magical no-magical skill needed to use items which help so would it be legit for a Squib to have some items from her mom, her dad wants nothing to do with her its not she is a Squib but she hooked up to a criminal scumbag. This didn't carry on to his Witch granddaughter who well ,is a Witch, so does like her but they will be Middle Class one a potion maker and the other a maker of magic items of common use (think an old fashioned pen but not a quill which writes without being held and such). But would be contacts she is on good terms with so could be useful. So would they be influential or just respectable so no special notes need to be made.

Now for magical strong/weak points what counts classes, magical creatures who are good not liking her and bad ones liking her as opposite options I can't find a list.

I also want her to have a horrible fear of heights, so in role-playing out Flying Classes she would like barf at even ten feet in the air on a broom and would possibly faint higher up after vertigo kicks in and well wasn't planning to tell the staff being well wanting to try to do it so am not sure if Flying could be a magical flaw due to that. Or is it better a psychological flaw. I do picture her even if she fails the class she would really try hard if that's a thread for the class.

1. Muggle sides of the family do not need to have an EFB even if they are Rich and/or Influential. The only time you need one is if they are part of the Magical world. So if the muggle criminal father decides to open up a casino in Diagon Alley with his muggle money and his daughters magic then you would need one, but if he is just a mob boss in Muggle London and his reach does not effect the wizarding world he does not need one. Does that make sense?

2. I'm not sure what you mean by the Headmistress will give him a good talking to? =] For what?

3. Yes if you would like to you can always expand on family members, even though she is a Squib she would still be considered "Pureblood" if she comes from a pureblooded family.

4. As far as the no magic needed magical items for the Squib mother, inherited from her pureblooded witch grandmother, I believe these things will be fine within reason. We have a magical items registry for more rare and expensive items, so you will need to pay for and/or apply for some of them. Do you have specific items in mind? I can help you determine which are allowed, which are not, and which will need to go through the registry? Here is a link to the registry: link.

5. So to make sure I'm caught up, your character is a half blooded witch which a criminal muggle father based out of London, a pureblooded squib mother, a middle class pureblood potion making grandmother, and a middle class pureblood magical item creating grandfather?

6. The magical pen would be okay but maybe unrealistic in the Harry Potter universe, they use quills, but there are such things as self inking, auto answer, and quick quotes quills (like the one Rita Skeeter uses in Book 4 to transcribe her interview with Harry).

7. I'm not sure what you mean by strong/weak points? If your talking about on the character profile "Strengths & Weaknesses" in the personality section this is asking what is your character good or bad at, what is their best traits and their worst. For example my character @Mihaela Lupesco is resourceful, a quick thinker, and enthusiastic. These are strengths. However she is also impatient, impulsive, and argumentative, these are weaknesses. There is another section in the profile/character sheet (towards the bottom) called Magical Strengths / Magical Weaknesses and this is where you will fill out which specific classes at school your character is good/bad at.

8. The classes offered at Hogwarts are as follows: Ancient Runes, Arithmancy, Astrology, Care of Magical Creatures, Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Divination, Herbology, History of Magic, Muggle Studies, Potions, and Flying. You can chose any of these to be her magical strengths and magical weaknesses. Flying is included.

9. We do sometimes thread out the flying class so that will be interesting to read about.

I've made some changes went for Muggle Born but well under from what I know once the parents are in the know they can visit Daigon Alley to buy her simple things and use the bank so can work in some little magic the kind sold at shops over the good things.

Well her father is still a crime boss so if your daughter was a witch who could do serious things to help the family wouldn't you consider using her when her training is done, after all she could teleport eventually and remove memories and make potions to appear like other people such as enemies so the cops go after them for a robbery wouldn't it be handy. So father needs a good she cannot do criminal things openly for you so get the thoughts out of your head - now. It will make a nice writing sample at the Leaky Cauldron.

Having them be muggleborn will certainly be interesting!

And as far as the criminal father using his daughters magic to get head just keep in mind that students are not allowed to do magic outside of school, the ministry would catch on to him
once she is graduated though he could totally try to use her to do some shady stuff haha

Made changes but with the time thinking this out have a fun and devious first year who comes from a nice morally compromised family background, think a criminal moral code like a good "made woman" in  mob would have.

But another question are books outside the class texts free or do I need sickles, say she wants a book to own of enchanting items with magic someday or a book about keeping fairies as pets?

I should have did a BORING cookie cutter character it would be approved faster it seems over a young darker and more dynamic character, but I'm a role-player and wanted an interesting character.

Not necessarily. I'm not longer an admin but there are a lot of factors that affect speed of sorting. However, implying that other peoples' characters are boring is probably not going to encourage others to want to RP with you when you do get sorted.

Pretty much what Carys said. It can take several days for people to be sorted, complex or simple character. Also, I'm highly offended that you think that boring characters get sorted quickly. I personally have been the person with the basic sheet, and have been told to spice it up, and create a more complex character by the sorting admin. In my experience, it's been the person being sorted that extended their waiting time by not doing what the sorting admin told them to/fighting them on their constructive criticisms.
