After working for the past six days (most weeks she worked three or four days), Freya had spent the day in PJs. Her skin was lightly tanned and her cheeks were freckled because she and her cousin Erika had spent the past few days on boats tripping between different greek islands looking for treasure. Most of Freya's days at Gringotts were spent writing letters and transcribing archived texts and so on. She spent a lot more time doing Erika's paperwork than she did out in cool parts of the world hunting down treasure, but this week had been a fun and exhausting exception to the rule.
A knock at the door alerted Freya to the arrival of a friend of hers. The blonde got up from her bed, putting the magazine she'd been skimming to one side. Freya quickly adjusted her glasses and the hem of her PJ shorts before beelining towards her front door. "Tabby!" she said, opening the door and stepping aside to invite her friend in. When they'd been in school, they'd chatted from time to time. As head girl and captain of the quidditch team, Freya and Tabitha had certainly known about each other and they'd hung out from time to time in the common room but they'd never been best friends. "I have champagne and white wine... and tea and coffee." The blonde gave her redheaded friend a sunny smile.
They'd reconnected recently at a poetry reading thing that one of Freya's artier friends had been attending. Freya had spent a part of the night consoling Tabby about various things but the night had ended on a much brighter note and the girls had made plans to meet. It was a girls' night in! They didn't know each other very well, but that was what this was all about, wasn't it. Freya adjusted her glasses again as she shut the door. "How are you?" she asked, "How's your weekend going?"
