[thd][gringotts] you can run on for a long time. [freya]

Jeremy wasn't completely freaking out.... no just mostly freaking out. He'd managed to ask @Ariana Laurier out only last night and he was already a complete mess about it. He was like a puddle of nervousness and utter confusion and the only light at the end of the tunnel was that he got to spend some more time with her. Even if he did make a total fool of himself on the "date" and she never wanted to see him again. He'd wanted to ask her out for some time but he'd never found a good way to say it and last night was no different. It wasn't like he had some burning desire or deeply woven love for the other girl but he was interested in her and she was attractive and he wanted to know if there could be more. Maybe she had the same thought and that was why she said yes? Jeremy had already pretty much assumed she had said yes out of pity but the Gryffindor slacker took what he could get and ran with it.

And now he had to figure out what they were going to do on their date and that seemed almost even harder than the actual asking. Jeremy was spontaneous and rambunctious and he never planned anything. On most days he barely managed to tie both shoes before being distracted by a butterfly and going on a ridiculous adventure and now he was supposed to plan out this big thing and some how impress and entertain Ariana. It was so much pressure. First things first, however, Jeremy knew he'd need some funds. He was planning to pay for everything and dipping into the very small savings he had to do it. In general Jeremy didn't spend much money (and he made even less at his pitiful temp job) but he had a little bit saved and he hoped it would be enough.

The red head had apparated to Diagon Alley, and then zapped himself a little further down the street, and then finally popped to the front steps of Gringotts the wizard was addicted to the new form of travel. He entered the Goblin bank and tried to remind himself to stay quiet. There was a very good reason his mother rarely let him come inside when they visited the shopping district but things were different now. Now he was an adult and he was responsible for his own sickles, if he wanted them he'd have to go and get them himself. Unfortunately he'd also have to remember to bring his key.

"Come on bud, can't you just let me get some sickles?" He pleaded with the Goblin who was two feet shorter than him even perched on his high chair. "I gotta' take a girl out tomorrow night."

Freya had spent the day doing paperwork. It was so boring, she thought, writing up little descriptions of all the cool things Erika brought back from interesting places. She noted the weights of various interesting treasures and all of their other aspects. She didn't actually get to handle anything herself; the goblins all took care of that. All Freya was allowed to do was take notes and make lists. After all of that, the young woman had to find the right place to file it and navigate the complicated archival system to make sure that everything was documented properly. Then she did it again. Rinse and repeat.

Luckily, today was only a half day today. It was the only thing that Freya could be thankful for. the blonde hummed softly to herself as she made a quick note on her time sheet and tapped her papers into a neat pile. The girl adjusted her high ponytail and started walking out. She made sure not to skip as she went, no matter how excited she was to do so. As Freya was making her way out of the hall, the blonde caught sight of a certain redheaded friend of hers. "Jeremy?" she said, adjusting her glasses as a smile appeared on her pretty face. The blonde moved over to him, catching the last part of his conversation.

She bit her lip for a moment, then stepped forward and tapped him affectionately on the arm. "There's no point, you need your key" she said with a quick smile to Ragatha the goblin before taking his arm and leading him away. "She doesn't like being called "bud"," Freya told him conspiratorially as they stepped outside. "I'm finished for the day, will you let me buy you a coffee?" she asked, wiggling her eyebrows in a we-have-something-to-discuss sort of way. He looked a bit like a lost puppy.

He was growing more hopeless by the second that the lumpy Goblin would provide him with what he needed but he was doing his best not to cause a scene. He knew the quickest way to not get a favor would be to stomp his feet and throw a fit. Instead of being greeted by a Goblin ready to escort him to his vault Jeremy was surprised by Freya grabbed his arm and leading him away. "But, I, but I need..." Oh it was no use. The former Gryffindor let his head hang low as she pulled him out of the bank and he felt the stuffiness of it leave his soul as they exited through the strong aged doors. "Freya you don't understand." He pleaded with her now, wanting her to know exactly what he was there for and exactly how very important it was. He nearly stopped walking but then she was saying something and she had that tone and he followed behind her.

"Yeah, I mean, I guess some coffee'd be cool." Jeremy was the last person on the planet who needed to add more caffeine to his daily routine but that had never stopped him before. He was like a four year old on a sugar rush when he had even just a little bit and it was addictive. He almost didn't even mind the inevitable crash that followed. "Where are we headed to, not the Cauldron Brew right? I always get weird looks there." He commented about the uppity north end Coffee shop inhabitted by rich pureblooded witches and way too busy snappy suit wearing official types.

"Can we get lunch too?"

Freya laughed. "I can't afford a coffee at Brew," she said, attempting to hide a little of the wistfulness from her tone. "How about Mean Beans?" The Gryffindor started off in the direction of a cafe near her work. She had to smile at his lunch comment. He was always eating. Like, she couldn't remember a time they'd hung out when he hadn't been eating something. "Mean Beans has bagels? How does that sound?" The blonde shifted the bag on her shoulder and glanced at her reflection in a shop window to make sure her ponytail was straight. She didn't usually wear makeup, but she'd recently started wearing a little to work. Especially on days like today, when she'd been partying the night before and needed to hide some dark circles.

"Sooo..." Freya gave her friend a side-long look as they walked. She skipped over a crack in the pavement. He didn't take the hint. "Tell me all about your date plans," she said, opting for a direct approach here. She couldn't help but smile, her thoughts rattling around her head like butterflies flapping their wings. She had so much to tell him - what to do, what not to do... "I mean, where are you guys going? Are you planning it?" The pair slowed as they approached her favourite cafe.

The cute waiter behind the counter gave her a charismatic smile. "The usual?" he asked her in a deep voice. Freya nodded as she smiled back, "And a haloumi bagel," she added. Freya then let Jeremy order something. She paid for it before heading to a table to sit down at while they chatted.

To be honest Jeremy couldn't afford coffee most places but especially not at the Brew. He smiled and nodded along when she suggested Mean Beans and he followed her to the cafe. It was near her work, so not far from where they were, but it was also on the back end of the alley, butted up against where the Magical world and the Muggle one collided. Jeremy liked the shops on this side of the alley because if he listened close enough he could hear the muggle cars zooming by. He followed her to the order counter and shrugged when the barista took a look at him, he should of been thinking about what he wanted to order but instead he'd been busy making faces at the baby in a stroller behind them while she had been placing hers. "Same as her my good man." He said with a bubbly voice before finishing up his order, totally ready to eat the food they were about to have. "But make mine an onion bagel. No wait. Sesame. No wait." He was annoyingly unable to make up his mind and people behind them were starting to groan. "Nope, Everything. Make it an everything bagel because that's just how I roll." He winked at Freya before sliding to the left and picking up their tray to bring it to their table.

"Date plans... right." He was only a little bit bummed out by the fact that the first step of his plan had failed but he hoped maybe she could help him work out the details of the rest of it.

"I am but like... I have no idea what to do? Help?" He pouted a little as they sat and he immediately began by taking a bit bite of his bagel. He couldn't even be bothered with adding the cream cheese first. Chewing and talking all at once he bounced in his seat. "I was thinking about bringing her to the comedy club but like, she was talking about some poetry thing last night and I don't know if it will rate. Did you know she was into poetry?" Jeremy gave Freya a kind of confused and intimidated look. Jeremy was far from deep after all. There was a comedy show every night at one of the little hole in the wall clubs in Diagon Alley. It was a pitiful little place, badly lit, with over price drinks and run by a centaur, but it was still pretty fun. Jeremy usually had a good time but he like ruckus and dirty jokes. He honestly had no idea if Ari would.

"What do you think we should do?"

Freya wanted to roll her eyes but she just couldn't. Jeremy always made her smile. He was even more harmless than Danny, she thought. Everything bagel indeed. They went to the table and Freya folded one leg over the other as she leaned one elbow on the wooden surface of the table. She listened to him speak with a half-smile on her face. "Oh yeah she's at some poetry thing in France, right?" Last time Freya had gone to France with Ari had been amazing. They'd gone sightseeing. The time before that had been Ari's french friend's birthday party. That had been a seventeenth party worth going to. Jeremy asked her where she thought he should take Ari and a hundred different places flashed before here eyes. There were so many options!

Before Freya could speak, however, the pair were rudely interrupted by a couple of young friends.

"Umm... Sorry, I know you guys are eating, but could you sign this for me? Sorry again, it would just make my day." The young guy was holding out a thick pen and playing with the hem of shirt. He looked like his birthday had come early. Freya's eyes were drawn to his shirt - it was yellow with a photo of two people waving right in the middle. There was a girl with very curly blonde hair, smiling as she kissed the cheek of... a guy with red hair... "I've been to all your shows." the teenager said excitedly. Freya glanced at her friend, then back at the shirt. This guy had obviously mistaken them for the pair of people - singers? - who adorned his t-shirt. Freya looked back at Jeremy, shock on her face. Apparently they resembled some famous singing couple or something?

He was basically sitting on the edge of his seat, on the verge of choking on his bagel at any moment, waiting for her to give him all the advice. He needed it desperately. At least he was man enough to admit that he needed help right? Jeremy was so nervous that this whole date thing would be a disaster that his hair was actually starting to frizz even more than usual. He opened his full mouth, about to ask her all the questions, when they were interupted by a few kids and Jeremy gave them a puzzled look. "What's happening now?" He asked as they offered up a parchment for the two of them to sign and then at the mention of all of their shows it began to click. They thought they were Razzy and Danzel the English wizarding wrock duo that was pretty much taking over the world. Okay not really, but they were pretty popular in some circles, and Jeremy was flattered.

"Yeah of course little dude." He said graciously before taking the pen from the boy and scribbling something that looked more like gibberish than a name in dark blue ink and handed it over to Freya. "Sign it for him, make his day." He winked at her knowingly because he was having way too much fun with the whole thing before pointing at the boys shirt. "Nice shirt kid." He leaned back, a hand running confidently through his red hair as he waited for Freya to sign and for the kids to leave. They seemed to linger, bright eyed and completely star struck and Jeremy just floated on it. He was never going to have this popularity. He was never going to be a celebrity. He had thought he would go Pro in Quidditch but obviously that wasn't going to pan out. The ginger was far to lazy to make it in the big times and that made him green with envy when he thought about buddies like Finn and Casey.

Freya watched as Jeremy took the parchment without even skipping a beat. The blonde smiled. She wasn't a very good liar, but hopefully the kid would just think that the celebrity they thought she was was a little bit awkward. "Of course," she said softly, taking the pen from her redheaded friend and signing it. Partway through, the blonde realised she was signing with her actual name, so she had to do a few extra loops and squiggles to hide it. Freya gave it back to the now-exuberant boy tentatively, her honey-brown eyes flicking down to his shirt temporarily as she had another look at her lookalike. The curly-haired blonde did look like her, she thought. Same round sort of face, same hair and cute smile. Freya realised with a jolt that the other girl had blue eyes, though, so as their new fan was thanking them profusely, Freya nodded and ducked her gaze a little.

When he was finally gone, Freya turned back to Jeremy. "You know I'm a terrible liar, Eddy," she complained, playful accusation in her voice. The blonde reached for her hot chocolate and took a sip before turning to the food. Paperwork at Gringotts always made her hungry, she thought. With a mouthful of bagel, the Gryffindor watched her friend carefully. "You look nervous," she commented, teasing a little but also a touch genuinely concerned. A part of Freya wanted all of her friends to get together but she wanted them to be happy doing it, not anxious about it.
