Alicia looked at the big brown eyes that were staring up at her. She blinked. He blinked. She shifted, and he followed her movements. She sighed, and her dog jumped up to rest his paws on her thighs to make sure that her undivided attention was on him. Ripley always seemed to only appear when she was cooking in the kitchen to beg for scraps. She grumbled lightly, and held a piece of shredded chicken in her hands. "Sit." And the obedient dog did as he was told. When she rewarded him, he ran away and she rolled her eyes. Men. Only there for the food.

Pots and pans were on a roll in the kitchen. She had a roast in the oven, and baked goods in mid preparation on the counter. For whatever reason, she'd decided to make Leifr a huge homemade meal so he could have something warm when he came home from work. She wasn't even supposed to be home, but her training had let out early and after taking a luxurious shower, she'd visited the markets and just started grabbing things to fill her cart. She didn't know why she was so nervous. It wasn't as if she'd never cooked for him before, like didn't live together full on. For some reason, she had this need to make sure that he loved the meal.

The Quidditch player slid the pan of mini peach-pear pies into the oven, and wiped her forehead of sweat. Her mother had been on her, trying to get a feel about where she and Leifr were doing with their lives. Her mother was just old fashioned enough that the disapproval of them "shacking up" was wearing on her, and she was in a non subtle fashion trying to push Alicia into making it into something more. What her mother didn't understand was how happy Alicia was. She didn't want to push herself into a situation that would rock the boat, and she was afraid that somehow some way, her mother would make things complicated in a relationship that wasn't hers.

The door opened, and she peered out of the kitchen, looking at the plaid clad man who was staring at her bewildered.

"Welcome home." She grinned.
