“Building bridges, strengthening bonds - Creating strong links across the magical world for the next twenty years”
The 8 largest Wizarding economies have met every four years to discuss matters of international wizarding governance, essential economic topics and proposed future trade agreements. Due to the size of the countries involved and their vast political heft, the
W8 meetings have significant importance in international wizarding governance, and in some ways are more influential than the International Confederation of Wizards itself.
This September, Africa’s largest Wizarding economy, Nigeria, is joining this esteemed group of nations. To celebrate this occasion, the
W9 conference will be held in the city of Ibadan, which contains the largest grouping of Wizarding people in all of the country. From Thursday 5th September to Monday 9th September, a series of high level diplomatic discussions will take place in the Ministerial Palace in the Agodi Gardens. The Palace serves as the headquarters for the Nigerian Ministry of Magic.

"The wizarding world has entered a time of uncertainty, with tensions rising on multiple fronts over the past months. The W9 conference places at the forefront of its mission an attempt to rekindle healthy and strong diplomatic ties between countries, to unite the world over shared interests and prepare a program for the future of wizarding peoples, where all can live in peace and prosperity. We welcome the distinguished guests from all the world to our beautiful country, and we hope for a constructive and progressive dialogue towards lasting peace and growth."
