It’d been some time since they had last seen each other, longer than either of them typically went without catching up. If she was more dramatically inclined, she mused she’d almost have to say it was criminal. So, when Harlow saw Kerr cutting his way through the crowd the young witch felt herself beaming instantly and offered him a wave. Out of habit Harlow surveyed what was on the table in front of her to see if there was anything that needed to be eaten before he swiped it up. A quick survey of the table told her there was nothing she had to dibs first, so Harlow left them to Kerr’s mercy if he wanted them.
“Kerr†She greeted him warmly as the wizard neared the table and Harlow stood to give him a squeeze and kiss on the cheek “I’m going to have to start using my press credentials to get on your calendar next†Harlow teased. The witch knew it was neither of their faults, adult life had a way of making time feel as though it was passing with double the normal speed. Harlow was more thankful to have the chance to catch up with a close friend than she was concerned with how long it was between visits. They’d planned to get together but hadn’t nailed down anything specific outside of when and where they would meet.
Harlow had put her hair up, put on a touch of makeup, and chosen to wear a navy blue dress complimented by her most comfortable pair of heels for the evening, thankful that being a witch allowed her to change her wardrobe almost on a whim. As they settled into their seats Harlow offered up an idea or two for the evening “Doctor Marrow is supposed to be giving a new series of lectures on how Ancient Runes as a subject will be outdated soon at that new space in Diagon, and we could grab a bite and go see how good that is.†She said with a hint of a smile tugging at her lips, giving away her insincerity “Or we can get drunk and wander around the city and people watch/see how many random adventures we can get in on.†She paused to sip her water “But I’m open to ideas, I have no doubt that you still know where all the real fun is happening.†Harlow still wasn’t 100% sure how he managed it, but had stopped speculating a long time ago.
