Ministry Guide!
Creating a Ministry character can sometimes be tricky to navigate in terms of figuring out what
exactly a particular Department does, what Office might be the best fit for your character, which Offices are subdivisions of which Department, and so on. We have pulled from every canon resource and compiled our research in what we hope is an easy-to-navigate outline of the British Ministry in particular (which can be extrapolated to fit the structure of other Ministries) as well as a few specific tidbits about the other major played Ministries.
Please note that we have restructured several of the Departments (Magical Law Enforcement especially, and Aurors in particular) to better fit known canon: if you have an existing Ministry character, please carefully review these sections. If you are unsure if your character would still fit well in their existing Department, or if you are unsure which Department would best suit your character’s needs, we are here to help!
While we will not require any drivers to retcon their characters’ sheets at this time, future updates/retcons and Sorted characters should be created within the confines of this guide.As always, we encourage and appreciate member feedback - please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have comments, suggestions, or further questions.
