Location and Activities
For those who enjoy the great outdoors, Stowe is a small town located in northern Vermont at the foot of Mount Mansfield, Vermont’s highest mountain. Boasting some of the most scenic landscapes in all of New England, Stowe is a popular spot all year round, a plethora of local events, artisanal shops, and outdoor activities sure to keep anyone busy in any season. Students at Stowe should be prepared to engage in weekly outdoor excursions that include but are not limited to hiking, fishing, canoeing, and kayaking, as well as tours of the local farms. Dormitory cabins (equipped with either 2 twin beds, 2 sets of twin bunk-beds, or one of each for 2-, 4-, or 3-person occupancy respectively) are available for all students. If you are traveling with a friend, feel free to inform the camp administration team beforehand if you wish to be housed together. Each cabin is same-gender in the way that the school dormitories are segregated.

Local Highlights
Stowe Brewery - Locally beloved for its decadent loaded fries, Stowe Brewery offers a small selection of sandwiches and burgers, and a wide selection of refreshing, foamy butterbeer. Though the most popular flavors are Vanilla and Billywig Butterscotch, there are 19 varieties of butterbeer to choose from.

The Crescent Cafe - Sells filled croissants, muffins, crepes, and a wide selection of fresh-brewed coffee and teas. With windows charmed to display faraway, starry galaxies and bonsai Flutterby bushes on each table, this is a calming and popular destination.

Coakley’s Curios - Founded in 1821 by the eccentric Clifford Coakley, this shop has been accruing magical miscellanea for nearly two hundred years: toys, puzzles, silverware, vintage clothing, and a huge selection of pinback buttons, many of them bearing slogans from magical creatures’ rights movements or wizarding bands. Owing to recent trends, they are also stocking jelly bracelets.

Stowe Wizarding Library - Though fairly small, this library contains tomes of magical research dating back centuries. It participates in a magical library exchange system that connects most of the East Coast of both Canada and the United States; requested books, when they’re available at any of these libraries, can usually be acquired in under ninety seconds. The library is cozy and homey, with comfortable furniture and good lighting.

The Stowe Arts & Sciences summer enrichment opportunity is opened to all students of the wizarding community, included incoming First Year students as well as graduating Seventh Year students. The camp’s mission is to unite students from all walks of life for an opportunity to cultivate an interest in a variety of subjects as well as to provide some of the groundwork necessary for future career opportunities. Students are welcomed to take a variety of subjects related, but not limited to Athletics (Quidditch, Quodpot, and more!), Arts & Crafts, the Sciences, Writing & Composition, Outdoor Activities—the opportunities are endless! Without the pressures of using magic (which is not allowed during the summer experience), students are able to truly enjoy a variety of subjects. The camp is a great opportunity to meet new friends from all over the world and create fun, summer memories that will last you a lifetime.

Though there are two sessions available, camp attendees are welcomed to stay for two-weeks, three-weeks, or both sessions for a total of five weeks of summer fun. While students are able to return home on the weekends, they are highly encouraged to experience all that Stowe has to offer and to take part in the many weekend travel, outdoor activity, and special event opportunities available.

Every student will receive a certificate upon completion of the summer program but for those who are extra ambitious and are looking for a little professional development, Professional Certificate programs are available for an additional fee.

The Stowe Arts & Sciences summer enrichment opportunity is open to all students regardless of their economic backgrounds. Financial aid is available in the form of grants, loans, and scholastic achievement scholarships. As financial aid is offered on a first-come, first-served basis, students are encouraged to apply early. Part-time job opportunities are also available on and off-campus. In order to apply for financial aid, students must briefly state why they are requesting aid and how they would benefit from attending this summer opportunity in the application below.

However, he and his mother think that for him it is important not to be stuck at home in a difficult situation for the entire summer. He's an energetic boy who would probably go crazy being in the city without any friends to spend time with for too long. He's also very interested in making friends around the world.
