Paint a happy little tree [Atticus]

Fi bounced on the balls of her feet as Milos the camp counselor spoke in heavily accented English, explaining what they were doing for the day. He was reading slowly off of a sheet he had secured to a board. Her eyes brightened when she found out they were going to be doing a scavenger hunt in the woods, that or it was a badger hunt-- she couldn't be sure. Nonetheless, she loved adventuring and outdoorsy stuff, so she relished the opportunity to use whatever athleticism she had, and on top of that, the woods in this part of the US were gorgeous. The trees were lush and verdant, and there were patches of flowers dotting the woods. There were small woodland creatures hopping about on the ground, or traversing through the interweaving network of branches that the packed together forest offered, and some native birds soared above the canopies of the trees.

She was jolted back from subconsciously painting the scenery around her, to her name being called, shortly coupled with another. "Feye-ore-ruh Mak-ray?" the counselor said syllabically, albeit wrong. She wrinkled her nose at the way the man said it, but raised her hand, "Present." she said, guessing at what the man was trying to do, "Your partner is..." he momentarily looked down on his sheet, his eyes visibly glazing over at having to pronounce the next name. "Attic Boatregard?" the counselor said warily, squinting his eyes at the paper through his glasses.

The redhead looked through the group in an attempt at finding her scavenger partner, wishing fruitlessly that she was a bit taller so she could see through the group better. She hoped that her partner was nice, and that they'd have fun on this adventure together, but also hoped that they wouldn't slow her down in the efforts to find the items. She took the sheet from the counselor when it was offered to her, and continued looking around, hoping that they would reveal themselves soon.

At the pronunciation of his name, Atticus glanced at his group of friends over his shoulder and stifled laughter despite the fact that he was disappointed that they hadn't been miraculously paired together. Odds weren't exactly in their favor, of course, with the number of campers within their age range.

"Atticus," He said not unkindly, with a reassuring grin. He didn't bother with the last name. He turned to where he'd belatedly seen the counselor glance toward— his partner, whose name he hadn't been listening to at all.

Pushing the nearly dry hair, courtesy of his swim in the river earlier, from his forehead, the wizard made his way through the moving crowd who were now all looking for who they'd been paired up with for the scavenger hunt. He figured they ought to have put some order to the process, but then again. Finally, he found the red hair he was looking for and he offered a grin. "Partner?" He asked, slightly hesitant that he might have gotten it wrong.

"Atticus," He repeated his name, this time as an introduction. "If the pronunciation of that was any clue, I have no clue what your actual name is..." The South in his accent dipped at the vowels, words slow and deliberate as the summer breeze overhead that didn't quite meet the ground (much to his dismay).

Who knew Vermont hot that hot?
