Ghosts

I'm currently working on a character who will be a ghost when they're sorted. This is mainly so I can do tt plots with her and then some present-day ones with another char who is not sorted yet from another driver.

I need to do more research on ghosts in the HP realm, but would anyone happen to know if ghosts haunt the place they died (i.e. peeves, Sir Nicholas, the Bloody Baron at Hogwarts), or do they kind of just roam around the world and then choose a place to settle?

Spots that act as doorways to the spirit realm- can ghosts emerge and go back and forth in different destinations with these?

Ghosts can haunt wherever, however, if they haunt the wrong places the department for the regulation and control of magical creatures spirit division will intervene.
