Marin returned from docking points, feeling soothed by the school’s judicial system and his part in it. Rules made sense, he thought. They were there to be followed, there to fit himself neatly into. Eating in the library was, one (1) disgusting and two (2) so obviously against the rules that he didn’t even feel bad about it. The underclassmen students weren’t even first years; they had no excuse.

“I’m ready to eat,” Marin said, his words quiet and acquiescing as he caught the end of Wini’s question. He didn’t sit down, instead hovering by the side of the table. “Look, Wini, why don’t I just give you a detention?” he asked quietly, not sounding very convinced about it. It wasn’t very by-the-book for a Head Boy to give detention to someone who hadn’t broken any rules, but at least it would mean he wouldn’t have to participate.

Wini jumped a little, startled by how quiet Marin had returned to their table, glancing up at him and wishing he didn't tower over her so. It made her feel shorter than she already was, but she gave him a little smile and glanced behind him, wondering if the offending crisp-eater was still in the vicinity or if they had skulked off to break the rules in peace somewhere else where the Head Boy wouldn't dock points for it. Wini grinned at him, proud of him in a silly way that he took his Head Boy duties so seriously. He was so good at it. She was happy for him that he had gotten it.

"Alright, let's go then," Wini said agreeing, not bothering to wait for Lip's answer. Either he would grumpily agree and trudge after them or he wouldn't. Convincing Marin to do something with her was one thing, convincing Lip? Nearly impossible.

She shook her head at Marin and gave him a frown at his idea. While appreciated, it wasn't the same. "No," she complained with a sigh. "I want to earn the detention. Nevermind, you don't get it," she said flapping her hands as she headed out of the library with the boys, wondering if she would have to give up on this list item after all. She didn't want to yet, but it did seem rather unlikely. Especially when she had two friends who were almost no help in that department. Oh well.

Phillip had never been the overly helpful sort. He didn't go out of his way to guide first years or tutor his classmates; hell, he barely even acknowledged people around him half the time, so knowing he wasn't much use to Winifred right now didn't phase him much. He wanted her to be happy, of course, but he wasn't particularly excited about helping her earn detention either. It was a strange request, really, but Phillip knew better than to say that out loud. When Marin returned and mentioned going down to the Great Hall, Phillip sighed quietly and began to push his books into his bag. It wasn't like he had been particularly looking forward to what he was reading anyway.

Winifred declined the Head Boy's offer, and Phillip stood up from the table. He glanced at each of them before shrugging and adding in his reply. "Don't give me any detentions," he said before walking between them and leading the way out of the Great Hall. Right now, he had no good ideas about how to help Winifred on her mission, but by this time tomorrow, his attitude would likely shift. She was a good friend, and Phillip liked solving problems. He'd probably spend half the night coming up with a list to give her tomorrow of things they could try. Most of them would probably land him in the seat next to her in detention, but Phillip never paid enough attention to his own well-being.
