Senna nodded as he confirmed, a hint of relief threading through her, the warmth of his hand on hers brushing away the momentary doubt that had clouded her mind. She believed him instinctively, his blue eyes spoke of sincerity, his aura of truth, and she liked that honesty about him.
And then she rolled her eyes at him and gave him a little pinch at his side, eager to return to the playfulness that made her feel so light.
"Well if we're going to lie, at least make it interesting," she told him with a playful wink and a pat against his chest and then grinned. "If you need an excuse, you can say I was showing you Mr. H's quidditch memorabilia collection," she gave him an exaggerated sigh to show what she thought of the room decked out with every type of souvenir from game-worn gear to game-winning snitches that would make any die-hard fan drool. And she only knew it because Mr. H was so passionate and excited about it the first time she had come to the Hawkins house years ago that she had ended up in there for at least an hour even though she really was not that much into the sport.
"Besides," she said as she pulled open the door and took a step out in the hall, the sounds from the party invading the quiet space they had created as she glanced back at him. "Who would believe you of all people swam in a pool in your party clothes and made out with a hot girl you just met?" With a teasing smile, she escaped into the hallway and headed back to the party, glancing once over her shoulder to give him a last look before disappearing around the corner.
