for whatever we lose, like a you or a me
it’s always ourselves that we find in the sea

The Krov Quidditch Captain had already been in a dour mood when she’d turned up at the library to finish an essay she’d [uncharacteristically] nearly forgotten about – and that mood soured further when she learned that the sitting area was closed due to an Alchemy project gone wrong. It was that point in the year – academically and for Quidditch – that everything was coming down to the wire, and additionally graduation was just over a month away. More irate than she typically would be at the carelessness of others due to the culmination of all of these things, Linnéa had stormed off in search of an alternative place to finish her work. She would definitely need to soak in the hot springs after this…

In years past she would have made straight for the port, letting the therapeutic crash of water from the falls obscuring its entrance to drown out her stressors. But that particular port was back in Novaya Zemlya… the port here in Luleå was nice, certainly, but not the same. Somewhere on the grounds was her next best option, she realized, as the inside spaces would likely fill up quickly once word got out about the library closure. The rooftop was nice enough, but often smelled strongly of dragon dung due to its nighttime occupants.

So she’d made her way down to the rocky shoreline and settled herself on one of the flatter formations, taking a moment to watch the glittering horizon before setting to work.
