Chop, chop, chop moved the knife against the cutting board as Raj worked her way through several potatoes. It was her night to cook dinner for Maia and herself and she reveled in the feast she was making. Scents of thyme and coriander filled her nostrils, wafting from the succulent roast cooking in the oven. There were very few things Raj believed she was skilled at, cooking was at the top of the list. Given her poor hunting abilities, even as a child her sisters would leave her to working their fires and boiling their stews. The Keres had a knack for knowing how to mix the right spices to get the best flavor out of the meats she prepared.

Dumping the potatoes into a boiling pot of water she moved across the kitchen like a ballerina on the stage. Each movement precise and fluid as their meal began to come together. With the main course cooking away she decided to start the desert. Leaning out of their kitchen window, Raj picked ten ripe apples from their fruiting tree. She smiled to herself as she pictured Maia biting into a freshly baked apple tart. She could just hear the little moans of pleasure pouring from her friends lips and the thought brought the biggest smile to her face.

Apples washed, peeled and sliced, Raj fit them into her skillet and began to render them in a syrup. Their pleasant scent filled her nosed and she sighed happily. If only she could think of a way to make a living like this. Raj knew if she could make money on her cooking she'd be able to support the two of them so much better. With another sigh and stirring of her apples she covered the pan and let them simmer. This dinner would be just perfect.

As she sat upon her favorite kitchen stool and relaxed against the wall, a sudden knock startled her. Who in the world could it be? Was it possible Maia was expecting someone and forgot to mention it to Raj? The woman rolled her eyes and moved to open the door, voice trilling "Coming!" Raj opened the door, stared at the vagrant before her and reslammed it shut. "GO AWAY" she screamed at the door and ran back into the kitchen.

Ever since they'd met in the park in Poland, Mateusz had wanted to see Maia again. There was something about her that captivated him and made him want to see her again and again. He hadn't the faintest clue what was causing it, but it was a welcome change from being depressed all the time. Sure, the time spent with his daughter was enough to put a smile on his face, but he'd been lonely since the day Dijana had left him and longed for a time when he wouldn't feel lonely any longer.

Today wasn't day, but he was going to make the best of it.

He arrived at the location he'd been given, eying the cabin as he walked towards the door. He was arriving unannounced, but he thought the element of surprise could be on his side. There was a light on inside the cabin and he could see the faint outline of a female inside the kitchen. Once he finally approached the door, he lifted his hand up and rapped on the door several times and then took a step back, shoving his hands in his pockets as he waited for her to open the door. If he was good, maybe she'd have a treat for him.

The brunet soon heard a female's voice, however it didn't sound like Maia's. His eyebrows furrowed and he bit his bottom lip, suddenly realizing that showing up unannounced probably wasn't the best idea. He was about to turn away when the door opened. He looked up and spied a different girl who then yelled at him. Alright then. Knocking on the door again, he called out to her. "Is Maia here? I've come to see her. She's a... friend of mine. Open the door, please. It's cold out here."

Raj stormed back to the kitchen, checking on her apples and tried to ignore the noxious male outside. He asked for Maia, so she knew that the man must be one of her sirens groupies. She couldn't stand when they'd come by when Maia was out of the house. All the ever did was gush like love sick little puppies and interrogate Rajani on ever little detail they could about their 'one true love'. Raj loved Maia will all of her heart, but she couldn't stand her choice in meals, especially the meals that found their way to the house. It was also times like these that Raj regretted having superhuman hearing. She knew that the human outside of the house was shivering from cold. "I could careless," she snorted to herself.

Rajani allowed the sweet scent of baking apples tickle her nostrils. The scent should have made her mouth water, but instead it was pickled by the stench of confusion and the smallest bit of despair. A different hunger briefly stirred as she contemplated the consequences of nibbling away at his aura. Surely he was no one important to Maia and she wouldn't mind if Raj took a few licks.

Her eyes bled to red as the appetizing thought spiraled through her mind and she had to breath deeply to keep from her teeth and claws elongated. No need to scare away the pray right away. Tightening the apron around her waist, she slipped off her stool and made her way back to the door opening it. "Alright, come in from the cold and take a seat. Maia isn't here and i'm not sure when she'll be back." Raj walked back to the kitchen, hoping the luscious and intricate smells of the food would lure him closer.
