[Stag & Hen] Waiting for that green light
« on: May 14, 2017, 05:05:04 PM »
It was a relatively Saturday busy night at the Stag & Hen and Tara flashed a grin at another regular customer of hers as she took some empty bottles off the bar top and tossed them into the trashbin. She was bartending tonight like she did every so often and more so when Leifr needed an extra hand. And while the regulars were a little seedy and the tips weren't amazing, it was kind of nice to banter and let off some steam as she took orders and dished out some drinks. She gave as good as she got and her customers seemed to enjoy her spunky attitude. It was a good thing too because she sure in hell wasn't changing.

It was raining again and Tara watched as customer after customer ducked inside and shook the rain from their shoulders. The bar was alive with the buzz of the latest Quidditch match too and Tara was only too happy to weigh in, saying the Griffins would take the league by storm this year. Just wait. It was then that she saw him come in. Maybe some other customers wouldn't recognize him, but she sure did. It was practically her job to know the players in the league, considering her family owned the Griffins. She wasn't surprised to see him in here either considering the Stag & Hen was a known place the Falcons liked to hang out in, but she had never met him personally and she had wondered about the Keeper.

Sami Sadik. Falcons Keeper. "What can I get ya?" she asked as he slid to the bar right in front of her as she flashed him a bright smile. She wondered how long it was going to take before he was recognized. She knew there were some regulars in here who would love to talk his ear off about the game if they only realized who had just walked in.

He had heard about the Stag & Hen but had not got a chance to visit the pub yet. Today Sami finally found time to go there, knowing that it was a pub which was frequented by Quidditch players and fans alike. Maybe he'd find some friends here or at least some admirers. Anything worked to pass the time nicely.

He had not apparated to the exact location so he'd had to walk through the rain for a bit. That was fine though, he didn't mind the rain. Besides he'd much rather walk through the rain than have a Quidditch match in the rain as it obscured the vision and made the balls slippery. Then again that was a nice challenge and the conditions were the same for all players involved.

When he pushed the door open, his hair was wet and curly, looking darker and shining more than usual. He walked towards the bar and smiled at the young woman who greeted him at once. "Hi," he said as he slid onto a chair. "I'll take a firewhiskey unless you have something you'd rather recommend." He winked at her, curious to hear if she would make a different suggestion or just give him the firewhiskey.

Sami ran his fingers through his wet hair and wrinkled his nose. The rain had been heavier than he had first thought. Maybe he should have used a spell to protect himself but then again he didn't care that much. However, he suddenly became aware of the fact that not only water pearls were running down his face as they dropped from his hair but that his shirt was also soaked, making it look semi transparent. His lips formed a lopsided smile now, he liked his body and had nothing to hide but maybe this was not quite the appropriate attire for a night out?

Tara quirked a brow at his wink and shook her head, her dark hair in its high pony tickling her shoulders as she rolled her eyes. Without glancing away from him, she reached for a bottle of firewhiskey, feeling its familiar shape under her fingertips as she popped the cap off and set it in front of him. "Not sure if you could handle anything stronger," she threw at him with a grin as she moved down the bar to assist another customer who was hanging over the counter top.

She teased and taunted. It was kind of her thing. She kind of got the idea that he was one of those guys that knew he looked good and she wasn't arguing there. But the wink, really? It made her grin and roll her eyes at the same time. She left him to his own devices for a few minutes before she went back over to him, sliding a menu over him. "Were you looking to order any food?" she asked as she leaned on the counter, crossing her arms in front of her so that her breasts were pushed up and together.

"Hey, did you know a lot of quidditch players hang out in here," she told him with a glint in her eye and a smirk on her lips. "Loads of quidditch fans too. They love meeting players," she mentioned, trying to figure out if he was one of the ones who wanted the attention or shied away from it. Either way, there were no promises that she would help with whatever he was looking for anyway. Where was the fun in that.

"Was that a challenge?" Sami asked, a lopsided grin spreading across his face. He did not want anything stronger, really. He did not want to get the reputation of someone who drank too much (though he should have thought about that before even ordering a firewhiskey). Nevertheless, Sami liked a good game, a challenge, a flirt. He observed her as she moved down the bar and wondered if she'd take the time to talk to him some more later.

The bottle of firewhiskey was sitting in front of him on the bar top now but the German Turk was in no hurry to take a sip. It was not like he needed alcohol at all. He could sit in front of a drink all night without even tasting it. That is unless it was a beer. He rather liked beer and found it was a wonderful beverage to drink when you were thirsty.

The Quidditch player used the opportunity to look around and observe her doing her job as well as other people in the room. The pub was rather crowded and obviously the young woman had a lot to do to deal with all the witches and wizards present.

Finally she returned to him, offering him the menu and asking him if he wanted to order any food. The way she crossed her arms in front of her accentuated her breasts in such a lovely way that Sami rather looked at her cleavage rather than at the menu. He tried to hide his smile but it was hard given the pretty sight. Besides he wasn't particularly hungry. Food could wait.

"Maybe later," he said, unwilling to turn his gaze away from her just now to look at the menu which was undoubtedly less interesting.

"Yeah, I heard that," he responded with a meaningful grin. "That's why I wanted to check this place out." He did not make clear if it was because of the players or fans, leaving it to her to either enquire further or let her imagination run wild. Had she even recognised him? He wasn't sure. He assumed so but, after all, he had joined the Falcons only this season. He thought that he had done a great job so far though. His team had done well ever since he had joined them.

"Nope, just a statement of fact," she quipped smartly as she tossed a few empty bottles from the counter into the rubbish bin. No wonder the ladies loved him, she thought. His grin was megawatt magazine worthy. Tara pretended not to notice though. She would never notice something like that about one of the Falcons. Nope, not her.

When she returned with a menu, she felt a small victory, noticing his gaze was on her boobs instead of up a little further. Boys were so predictable, she thought with a roll of her eyes. As she leaned forward, she finally caught his gaze and wondered at the color of his eyes. She hadn't noticed before, but now she could definitely say they were the color of whiskey. His grin made her smile in reaction. "Oh? So you came because you wanted the attention, is that what this is?" she asked him, assuming he had come to boast and prance around the pub, conjuring up his own fan club.

"Would you like me to announce you then, Mr. Sadik?" she leaned closer to whisper to him, revealing that she knew exactly who he was. With just a few words from her, he'd have all the attention he could ever want for one night, from drunken super fans who thought they knew every move the coaches and general manager should make to the quaffle bunnies who wanted to sleep with a player just so she could brag to her friends later. She knew his quidditch stats, but she didn't know him and Tara was at least interested in knowing what his decision would be.

"Oh," there was a hint of disappointment in his voice. Being a sportsman Sami liked challenges, he liked to try and win... something. However, she did not seem as though she was in to that sort of game. For her it was rather flirting and teasing and then backing away leaving him with the desire for more.

And then she gave him more. Another playful comment widened his smile. "Well, doesn't everybody want some attention every now or then?" he challenged her. "I mean, you don't want to tell me that you don't like some attention yourself, would you?" He smiled like a schoolboy who had been given a bag of sweets from Honeydukes.

"Quite honestly though I was merely curious how this place looks like and I wanted to see for myself if it's as crowded and fun as people told me." He looked at her, trying to work out what she thought of his response.

Her question caught him a little off guard. His eyebrows raised in astonishment, Sami looked at the young woman. His first thought was that she knew his name, a fact that made a smug grin appear on his face. His second thought was that this had to be a trick question. No matter which answer he'd give, he felt it would be the wrong one.

"No, thanks," he said with a chuckle. "I'm not that desperate for attention. Besides I think I would get it without your help if I wanted to." He was not entirely convinced that was true but she would hardly demand that he proved this, would she?
