For a split second, Isaac thought the older witch was about to hex him. And while he hadn't stepped back or flinched, the way his eyes darted to her wand and back gave him away. Donna was probably far better at that sort of magic that Isaac was, and with the speed that she had produced her wand, there was very little chance he'd have been able to do anything about it anyway. So when some nasty hex didn't come hurling his way, Isaac tried to hide his confusion (and relief).
"No, no, I believe you, your tough shit, not to be trifled with, I get it," Isaac rebuffed, holding his hands out in front of him like a barrier, but even as he asked her not to hex him, he was giving her more and more reasons to do just that. Her wand was still out, but Isaac became more confident that she wouldn't use it as the seconds (and sarcastic comments) ticked on.
"Like I would want one," There were plenty of students in his year that had been gunning for the Prefects badge since day one, but Isaac wasn't one of them. "Not worth the gold it is plated with, if you ask me," No one had asked him, but Isaac had opinions anyway. "Though, I suppose the free pass to harass and threaten students two years younger than you is a pretty good perk." Isaac nodded toward her wand as he spoke, the cunning smirk on his face implying just how easily he could sell this situation as something that it wasn't. That somehow, Donna was the aggressor, and he was just the younger student minding his own business.
She brought up Maverick again, and Isaac's smile turned sour. "At least he would get Captain, not Co-Captain," Isaac fired back as he continued to search for holes in her armor. "What exactly does the second in command do? Make snacks?"
