12-18 sounds really sudden as well to me.

How many students could really kill others though? Like a first year would do what, send sparks at people? But I enjoy the idea haha.

I don't know. I think there are a lot of drivers who want their chars infected but don't want real lasting problems except maybe trauma.

I'm one of them.  I'm debating letting Cori catch it because the girl needs something to make her a tad more interesting.   And with Alexa there's the whole issue of an overprotective as hell husband to deal with...potentially.

Yeah. I want either Ken or Jo to get it, but ken wouldn't be happy (and I bet Jo wouldn't either) if they were drained permanently. Maybe a temporary drain--the longer you're suck the longer it takes to regain full talent?

I tried to read as much of this as possible. I really like the plague idea, it reminds me of the Light Fever illness plot we had a few years ago, and that was super fun. I think there was also mention of a ball a few pages ago? I really like that too. I don't have any actual ideas yet, but I'm really excited for any of this.

this sounds like a good plan. and yes i do see the 12-18 hours being a bit steep.... so probably more... like a day or two.... i would imagine it would be fairly fast moving... seeing as the last thing he'd want would be for them to be cured of course he could have over estimated how powerfull it would be. maybe those who got a VERY hefty dose it moves quicker than those who got a minor dose of the contagen....

I feel like less people would participate if the plague had major long term effects, especially like.. lessening their abilities? so maybe just weakening their immune systems a little bit, instead of their magical abilities

or at least, like helena said, not permanently, just maybe they lose their talents for like.. the same amount of time as when they were sick?

The problem with it being just two IC days, is that it makes it a short time frame, reducing the chance for multitudes of people to play in the plot. If it's going to be board wide, it's got to be something of a longer duration.

Just saying?

Because i wouldn't mind having a character of mine be infected, but i might miss it... because i start school this Monday, and sometimes my projects demand my full attention. People also work, and have a life outside the internet. And unless MH time slows down to counting hours while the plot is in session, it seems very quick and short. That might just be me though.

With like those movies that people get infected and start dropping like flies... they drop within a week or two at the least when they start showing symptoms. People's immune systems are different, and they develop degrees of sickness and such. Some symptoms take a while to occur while others are skipped at random. My cold is my father's flu, for a nice real example.

If it was stretched, regardless of whether or not the crazy guy planned it to be, anyone can join in at anytime, show whatever degree of sickness they chose, even a while after the vaccine is discovered and given to those who are ill, as it'll continue for a little while after until the disease is purely contained......

Nonetheless, i like the idea a lot. ^^;;

Well I mean we'd be working with individual threads that could be set at any time, really. And even the large group thread would take some time. So it could go on all month even if it really didn't--like the battle, yeah?

there are many different diseases that can kill within 24-72 hours after infection.

also, it wouldn't take two days Out of Game.

it would be a very significant length of time. if you think about most threads people have, the event could be a few hours in character, but the thread itself takes nearly a month out of characterto complete.

i feel like a more drawn out disease with slow, painful effects would be more fun to play out.. but i'm letting my inner sadist come out. xDD

Kendrick just gave you a VERY horrified look, Ash.
I like the idea of an intermediate killer--force them to rush but long enough so you can have several ghreads from diff stages. Or one that's somewhat unpredictable. Some people it kills quicker than others based on immune or magic or what have you. It'd freak our friends and family a lot worse that way. >>
