As he settled in he couldn't help the dimpled grin tugging his lips up as he took in the amount of books stacked around the blond Ravenclaw. It did not surprise him, of course, but it was still amusing. His fingers twitched at his side as he held them back so he wouldn't ruffle the other boys hair. He groaned internally suspecting his hard earned reputation would turn to shambles when the student body realized he had a soft spot for the Ravenclaw. There was nothing for it, really. He supposed it really didn't matter in the grand scheme, though. If anyone questioned him about it he had zero qualms about showing them the error of that mindset.
He leaned forward a bit, long fingers wrapping around an inkwell and a quill, then settling it down on the table next to some bound parchment. His blue gaze flickered up towards Jet when he spoke, laughing a bit, as he shook his head. "Additional reading isn't homework." he said wryly, raising an eyebrow rather good-naturedly. "Potions." he grunted with a bit of a sigh, dumping his own books on the table, and adding to the already messy pile. "We can start with Charms, though." he said, perking up quite a bit at the thought.
Charms, in his opinion, was a superior subject. He honestly did not have the patience for Potions half the time, though he knew it was important. "How was your break?" he questioned curiously, as he attempted to get some of his notes organized. He took out various leaflets of parchment and separated them by subjects before grabbing his quill and making an outline of assignments due on a new parchment. He added a little reminder to himself that he really needed to draft another letter to his penpal as well. It'd be rude to keep him waiting and he was rather curious about Durmstrang.
